(Alliance News) - Andrada Mining Ltd on Tuesday said continuous mineralisation was found in a channel sampling and geological mapping programme concerning the ML133 licence.
The Guernsey-based lithium, tin and tantalum miner, which has assets across the Damara Belt in Namibia, said the assay results confirmed the existence of continuous mineralisation at surface over a six kilometre strike length. Testing was focused around the ML133 licence area, also known as Lithium Ridge.
The channel sampling programme aimed to "fill in data gaps" between known lithium occurrences within the existing licence, and to define the mineralised trend's length and width. The geological mapping programme was intended to delineate the extent of pegmatites at surface, and document the intrusions' mineral characteristics. Andrada said the latter was in preparation for a more detailed follow-up programme.
Andrada said the combined weighted average of the 27 highest-grade lithium channel lines amounted to 179 metres at 1.20%, and the primary lithium minerals identified were spodumene and petalite.
"I am very encouraged by results received to date from the regional exploration programme, highlighting the potential upside of our mining licence portfolio," commented Chief Executive Officer Anthony Viljoen.
"These results, together with and the bulk test work programme at the newly constructed pilot facility, will allow the Andrada team to expedite the concurrent development of the Lithium Ridge licence."
Andrada shares were down 2.7% at 6.62 pence in London on Tuesday afternoon.
