Electronic components group Advanced Power Components (APC) announces the appointment of David Brown as interim finance director, replacing Rod Muir, with immediate effect.The group said it is at an early stage in the process of recruiting a new permanent finance director and a further announcement will be made in due course.North Falkland Basin oil company Rockhopper Exploration has reclassified a previous exploration well, 14/5-1A, drilled by Shell in 1998, as a gas discovery.Named the Johnson structure, the discovery lies in approximately 500m of water in licence PL032, and is now classified as a contingent resource.Irish-based energy group Kedco has raised €0.3m to develop identified opportunities for joint ventures."We are pleased with our continuing ability to raise funds in the current economic environment from an investor base which understands our business model and shares our ambition," said chief executive Donal Buckley."These new funds will be used as capital for the next phase of our development programme," he added.Underwriter Omega Insurance said rate hardening will be more prolonged than past market adjustments, particularly due to the relatively limited amounts of fresh capital available, and will last into 2010.
