LONDON, July 6 (Reuters) - British electricals retailer Currys is exploring "a number of avenues" for collaboration with Mike Ashley's Frasers after the sportswear and fashion group amassed a 10.4% stake, Currys' boss said on Thursday.
Frasers has said its holding is "supportive" and it wants to work with Currys.
"We're delighted to welcome Frasers to the register," Currys CEO Alex Baldock told reporters after the group reported annual results.
"We share a vision for omnichannel retail - we both like stores, we both like online, we both like them together, and when it comes to partnering with the technology space which they want to do, we're the natural choice," he said.
"This is a potentially interesting partnership that we've started discussions on...There's a number of avenues that we're exploring."
Frasers has also built a 22.2% stake in Currys' online rival AO World and forged a partnership deal. (Reporting by James Davey; editing by Sarah Young)
