Strong sales of building products have powered Alumasc's full-year profit ahead of management's previous expectations.Revenues in building products rose almost 20% in the year to June 30th, well ahead of the wider UK construction market, the building and engineering products supplier said in a trading update. Execution and delivery on construction projects was strong, including those completed or mainly completed towards the end of the financial year. Cashflow performance was also healthy with year-end net debt expected at about £8.0m. Sales of engineering products recovered in the fourth quarter after a dip but did not match those at the start of the year. The precision components and Dyson Diecastings businesses have both won big contracts recently that will boost revenue in the current year."As a result of this overall performance, underlying group profit before tax for the year will be ahead of management's previous expectations," the company said. Alumasc posts its annual results on September 3rd.
