Shares in Alphameric fell after confirmation that Edana Trading Ltd had sold 6m shares on 19 October, leaving it with 5.25m shares. This cut Edana's stake in the betting technology services company from 5% to 2.32%. Alphameric is currently in bid talks but they are still at an early stage. Alphameric is trading in line with expectations and has £18m in the bank. Edana bought 11.25m shares in Alphameric at 33p each on 4 September. Interestingly, the disposal was at the same share price. Dublin-based Edana is owned by a trust where Israeli businessman Teddy Sagi is the beneficiary. Sagi was the founder of AIM-quoted online gaming software developer Playtech. Sagi owns 41% of Playtech through Brickington Trading Ltd. Share buying in the early afternoon sent the Oxford Instruments share price higher. Most of the trades were worth around £4,000. The supplier of high-technology equipment for industry and research is due to publish its results for the six months to September 2009 on 17 November.
