(ShareCast News) - Akers Biosciences has begun to make direct sales of its disposable breath ketone test, Metron, through the Amazon website and via the company's online sales portal.The medical device company said the Metron Breath Ketone Test, which is part of its health and wellness line, is the only disposable breath-based diagnostic device that determines if a person is in ketosis - a fat-burning state where the body breaks down body fat for energy.The test is expected to be popular in the weight-loss market, said Raymond F. Akers, co-founder and executive chairman.He said: "We think this is going to make a huge difference to people trying to lose weight, those trying to maximize their fitness training, or other people who just want to maintain a healthier body."I'm extremely excited that consumers can now buy this product, and we are proud to provide an innovative solution that can help people live healthier lives."He added that the product has received a significant amount of interest from consumers, fitness professionals, and health and wellness consultants since the group announced its intention to launch the product.Akers shares were untraded on Monday.
