[SLG}Trading update This leading manufacturer of high-performance, miniature antennas for mobile and wireless devices, announces a trading update for the six months to 31 March 2010 and an update on recent developments. First-half trading was in line with the Board's expectations, with revenues of £1.4m and net cash at 31 March 2010 of £1.6m, with an additional £260,000 tax credit due to be received. GPS sales grew 17% by units and 8% by revenue as the consumer GPS market began to recover from the recession. In addition, Sarantel continued to make good progress with its customer base, delivering products to 250 customers in the first half, compared with just over 300 across the whole of 2009. The Group has undergone successful audits by two leading military contractors from the US, bringing it closer to becoming an approved supplier for high-value military applications. Since the period end, one of Sarantel's largest clients has introduced a second supplier in the interests of supplier diversity. As a result, the Group now expects revenues for the full year to be approximately £3.1m to £3.3m.

[SLG].Progress upon progress ! This leading manufacturer of high-performance, miniature filtering antennas for mobile and wireless devices, announces production orders for its second-generation Iridium antenna to equip the new SHOUT nano from NAL Research Corporation (NAL). The SHOUT nano is a handheld, global, two-way satellite messaging and personal tracking device. It utilizes Iridium's short burst data (SBD) service to provide location information, text messaging, and emergency e-mail alert notifications. With its compact size, rugged design and ability to work anywhere in the word, the SHOUT nano is especially useful for military, government and commercial tracking applications. As announced in 20 October 2009, Sarantel provided first-generation Iridium antennas for NAL's earlier SHOUT communicator. The smaller nano device will use Sarantel's second-generation Iridium antenna, which is 30% smaller in volume. Ngoc Hoang, President of NAL Research said: "Sarantel rose to the challenge of improving the antenna's performance while reducing its size for this leading edge satellite communication device. NAL Research's customers demand higher performance in smaller and smaller packages and by working with Sarantel on the Shout nano program we were able to deliver." David Wither, CEO of Sarantel said: "NAL Research continues to push the boundary for compact 2-way satellite messaging and its focus on high performance and robust two-way satellite communication distinguishes the Shout Nano as the premier personal safety and tracking device. We were pleased that they challenged Sarantel to develop a higher performance version of our successful 1st generation Iridium data."

[SLG]Has received a development order from a US defence contractor. Some of the development order funding, of $287,500, has already been received, and the remainder is expected to be received over the coming months. The order is to develop two compact, high-performance antenna designs for defence and security applications. The US defence contractor will manage the development programme on behalf of a branch of the US military. The antennas are required to meet strict size, performance and weight requirements so they can be deployed in a wide range of devices. David Wither, Chief Executive of Sarantel said: "This is a tremendous endorsement for our technology and a vindication of our focus on the military sector; which is delivering tangible results. Our antenna technology is gaining momentum in this high-value market that demands high performance in a very small and robust package. "Following the announcement on 18 February 2011, this order provides the Board with further confidence that near term monthly sales for the remainder of the financial year will improve with contributions from these funding revenues. As a result of this funded development programme, we will significantly expand our product portfolio which will benefit customers in other markets including professional GPS applications and two way satellite communication."

[SLG] With millions of the stock traded over the last three sessions, something is "stirring the pot". With the Board obviously in bullish mode and a fickle sceptical Market, then to me the buyers at current levels stand the better chance of gaining. Contract wins and repeat business including the awaited 4G licences roundabout looming, China and growing economies scrambling for the latest must have G P S gadgets, then SLG must be onto a path to greater things.

[SLG] trading update for the six months to 31 March 2011 and a major contract win. As announced on 18 February 2011, sales in the first half of this financial year were slower than expected. This was largely due to technical issues, unrelated to Sarantel's technology, experienced by two major customers. Both of these customers have now resolved their problems and have placed orders for revenue in the second half. First-half revenues were £1m (2010: £1.4m) with a net cash balance at 31 March 2011 of £0.4m and a further £166,000 tax credit received during April. Excluding the two major customers referred to above, GPS unit sales volume grew 3% and revenue by 1% while military unit sales volume increased by 52% and revenue by 26%. Development revenues grew by 185%. Despite the recent set backs, Sarantel continues to make very good progress with its military customers and is also in discussion with a number of large corporations about the use of its technology in consumer applications. As evidence of its progress in the military market and largely as a result of the success of its previous contract program, Sarantel has been awarded a new major contract by a leading US supplier of tactical radio systems. This new contract is to develop a customised rugged GPS antenna solution for the US company's best-selling tactical radio system. Sarantel believes this contract will contribute more than $1 million in annual revenues beginning in early 2012. In order to capitalise on recent successes and to build on the momentum in the business, the Board is currently seeking further funding for working capital and to finance future growth.

[SLG] Supplies attenae to the Isatphone Pro via its joint venture with SELEX. [ISAT] has delivered its first 1/4 results to the market ( http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/news/market-news/market-news-detail.html?announcementId=10859305 ) this extract refers to the Isatphone pro and is encouraging news against a stream of temporary, in my opinion, negatives coming [SLG]s way at the moment.Inter alia ..."We are pleased with the take up and positive customer reaction to our IsatPhone Pro service. During the first quarter we saw strong activations and IsatPhone Pro was the primary driver of a 22% growth in active land mobile terminals. Although the revenue contribution in the first quarter was still modest, we are now seeing growth and our market share and revenue targets remain unchanged"... By all accounts the Isatphone Pro is getting good market/user reviews..

[SLG] Re-focussing the "agenda" here. In order to re-iterate the balanced approach I tend to adopt and to avoid isolated criticism that I appear to be too skewed to the positive aspects, something that cannot be avoided due to the positives announcements released by the Company, without independent analyst research notes. I re-focus my opinion on this tiddler with big potential ambitions. "This [SLG] is a hot stock for the future in my opinion based on all publicy available information of which I am familiar. But I just cannot but wonder that successive temporary cash flow requirements are being funded mostly out of cash calls and not sales, this has a negative impact on the shares, and in the current climate that is hard to redress. I belive in the hardware solution to navigation requirements, but most of the corporate output is fairly typical of a tiddler that requires funding from secondary issues of shares and issues trading warnings, which is a poor combination. This is a Hottie but is tempered with risk warnings. Having followed the development of this Co through its development days, I cannot help but point out that it keeps getting knocked down before it has a chance to get up and dust itself down. Yes its thechnology advance is its blue sky hope and I hope these "large" prospective customers arrive before the funding runs dry. The current contracts, as good and useful as they are, are insufficient to see it through to profitability, and its manufacturing savings by flitting abroad does help cost savings. We were expecting breakeven this 1/4, but as we know contract delays out of SLG's control has pushed that deadline back. But this is still a long term winner in my mind tinged with risk which I am prepared to swallow. A stock with huge potential but tempered with corporate risk."

[SLG] Some fantastic and share enhancing news that opens up an extremely lucrative extra bow in the armoury. Received volume production orders for its GeoHelix GPS antenna used in a seismic probe which promises to revolutionise the natural resource exploration process. The seismic probe uses Sarantel's GeoHelix GPS antenna as part of a precision timing circuit which enables the probe to gather highly accurate geological survey data. These remote probes can be deployed over a large geographic area and replace expensive and time consuming manual survey procedures. Sarantel believes the deal will have a material impact on revenues over the next 12 months. Sarantel's GeoHelix GPS filtering antenna offers an omni-directional gain pattern which provides the customer stable and reliable GPS performance across a wide range of installation environments. Separately, Qualcomm has selected Sarantel's GeoHelix GPS antenna in its Femtocell Station ModemTM (FSMTM) reference design to be used in product development, also because of the advantages provided by its omni-directional gain pattern. David Wither, CEO of Sarantel, said: "We are very excited by this new application for Sarantel's technology. GPS is used as a precision timing source for a broad range of applications and the range of devices requiring GPS technology is increasing exponentially. Sarantel is currently tracking more than 200 opportunities across a broad range of applications. We believe our technology has a very bright future as demand for accurate, omni-directional GPS antennas continues to expand."

[SLG] Expands into Japan.Announce recently the opening of a new Sales office in Japan and the hire of Wakako Yamaguchi as Sales Manager for Japan This new sales office will be responsible for all of Sarantel’s sales and distribution activities in Japan as the company works to expand sales in this strategically important market. “The hire of Wakako Yamaguchi and the opening of this office represents the next stage in our plan to expand sales in Japan”, said Chris Muir, Director of Sales for Sarantel Ltd., adding “the number of GPS applications developed in Japan is expanding rapidly and having a local office to support our growing customer base will add to our existing opportunities” Recent events at Apple have pushed antenna design to the forefront of debate in the world of mobile technology. For those of us who design antennas, the recognition of “a challenge for the entire smartphone industry to improve its antenna technology” was hardly a surprise. As phone designs become sleeker, with larger screens demanding bigger batteries, the space for all the other circuitry begins to shrink. Apple’s solution was certainly innovative but as we have seen it is subject to the same constraints of physics as any other ‘conventional’ antenna solution. As Apple so vividly demonstrated - with its own design and those of rivals - the human body is surprisingly good at interfering with radio signals, acting like a sponge and absorbing radio energy. It’s an inescapable combination of human biology and antenna physics. We at Sarantel don’t claim to have a technology that will solve the voice antenna problem on the iPhone. But these same issues of biology and physics are ones we’ve studied closely because they also affect the GPS signals our antennas are mainly designed to receive. Indeed, given that GPS signals come more than 12,500 miles from space, not from a nearby base station, the problems of designing an efficient GPS antenna to capture such a weak signal are even more challenging. For handset manufacturers, this is a problem. Recently published research from market researchers iSuppli suggests that by the end of 2011, around 80% of all smartphones will have GPS built in. What’s driving this is a new consumer demand for location-based services like Foursquare, Gowalla and Layar, not to mention the thousands of location-based apps emerging in places like the iTunes app store and Android market. It’s our belief that the development of a healthy and profitable market for location-based services will flounder unless handset manufacturers recognise that current GPS antenna designs are inefficient when close to the human body and simply not up to the job of delivering the kind of performance that users will expect. They lose too much signal and this causes the associated electronics to draw too much precious power. That’s why we are developing the most volumetrically efficient antenna designs to power the coming generation of location-sensitive devices. Sarantel’s unique approach uses dielectric ceramics to produce miniature antenna designs that are far less susceptible to signal loss when close to the human body. What we’ve developed is a way to keep much of the precious radio energy in the core of the antenna, rather than let it leak into the surrounding area where the body’s sponge-like properties will absorb it. As a result, it uses less power and enables more reliable and accurate positional fixes - and that’s important because without robust and reliable performance consumers might not embrace the most exciting LBS applications. We think it’s the most efficient antenna design you can fit into a specific volume and we’re making it smaller and more efficient all the time. Of course, you’ll see an improvement in signal bars if you use a Sarantel antenna, but the real result is what the user notices. The success of the location-based industry depends on whether users are confident they really are where they are, or whether they’re frustrated by the slow fix times and inaccuracies of conventional antenna designs.

[SLG] Has received production orders for its rugged GeoHelix GPS antenna for use in the US military's "Rifleman radio", part of the US Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) program. The JTRS is a major program of record which has been awarded by the US Army to Sarantel customers General Dynamics and Thales. The Rifleman radio recently demonstrated its value and utility in an exercise conducted by the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division in March 2011, where the radio was hailed as effectively filling critical communications gaps that are unmet by current tactical communications systems. On 7 July 2011, General Dynamics stated that "[US] Department of Defense documents indicate that the Army plans to purchase more than 190,000 Rifleman radios". At those order levels, this contract would generate revenues in excess of $6 million for the Group. The Board believes that these orders would be placed over the next five years. This is the largest design win to date for Sarantel and demonstrates the growing importance of its technology to the defence industry. David Wither, CEO of Sarantel, said:"This is the most significant military contract we have secured to date. This order and the inclusion of our GeoHelix antenna in the Rifleman radio is a great endorsement of the value of our technology in demanding military applications. "We are successfully executing our strategy of driving sales growth in high value, ruggedized antenna products, and building on the growing momentum in our key military market. This milestone contract win will have a long term, material impact on our revenues". http://www.gdc4s.com/content/detail.cfm?item=b8c971d4-9784-41c7-b8e1-1f557f1b2d0d&page=2 http://www.defensenews.com/story.php?i=3654335
