Running again for Prostate Cancer Support. Not long to go!

Tuesday, 2nd April 2024 10:22 - by Phil Thomas

Hi LSE readers!

For those of you that don't know me - I'm Phil - I founded lse.co.uk back in 1998, and have enjoyed seeing our community grow and flourish, through the ups and downs of investing!

Last year, I ran my first ever half marathon to raise money for a very important charity that's close to my heart - Prost8 (https://www.prost8.org.uk/), which does incredible work helping men with Prostate Cancer get better treatment.

Hundreds of you (literally 474) donated, which blew me away. The charity couldn't believe it either - and Georgina from Prost8 wrote to me to say,

"Thank you so much for the fundraising - you raised £9,472.42 which helped install our first HIFU unit in Bath, as well as supporting our patient advocacy - supporting men beginning their prostate cancer journey."

It was an incredible response - and for me, the hard work in getting fit enough to run was more than worth it. As promised last year, by the end of it, I was a sweaty mess - below is a photo of me on the starting line, looking considerably less exhausted than at the end!

2023 Charity Run

This year, I'm running again - in just one week on Sunday April 7th, I'll be joining hundreds of other runners in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, raising money for Prost8, and again, I'd like to ask for your help.

If you feel you could support, even in just a small way, please follow this link!

Last year, hundreds of LSE users gave between £5, and £1,000 (!) - and I was touched to read the many messages of support, including some from existing sufferers or survivors of prostate cancer.

Please join me again in helping raise money for this incredible cause - and lets all make a difference to something that really matters.

Many thanks,

Phil Thomas, (founder, lse.co.uk)
