Never forget what’s important

Totally off the topic of share dealing... This week, in the area that I live, a little girl went missing. Now this little girl was only 4 years old and was visiting her Grandmother’s house, so she wasn’t familiar with the area. We had been relaxing in the back garden when the girl’s older brother went by. My daughter went to speak to him and that is when he mentioned his sister was missing. Well, of course having children myself, we offered to come and help look. His Gran was upset to the point she just couldn’t think straight. We checked around the area and asked everyone we had seen – children, dog walkers, cyclists, and mothers all joined the hunt. Within 5 minutes of the Police being called, there was a police helicopter flying above. Within 10 minutes of the police being contacted, they were present in many forms; Police car, cyclists, dog handlers, and a van with more Police Officers. Sometimes the Police come in for criticism. In this instance, they reacted quickly and with lots of resources. Perhaps in this case just a little too quickly as it turns out the girl in question was playing only a few houses away. So, in a week where I have, on paper, seen thousands of pounds wiped from my portfolio and I’m feeling a little down, I only have to look at my two beautiful, safe, children and know... ...what is truly important.
