Bought: week ending 4 September 2015

Monday, 7th September 2015 09:10 - by Moosh

Here will feature any companies I have bought and reasons as to why. These are not for daytrading since I am not a daytrader.

I generally buy on low interest/volume and often when no news is around or forthcoming but keeping in mind recent news events so it would be best not to follow me if you prefer safety in numbers. I use the same buying point on a technical basis and these will usually happen on down days.

Proton Power Systems (PPS)

I have been keeping an eye on PPS for signs of weakness following the RNS (20 July 2015) which informed the market of a cooperation agreement with the German Rail subsidiary Bahnbau. This agreement has a lifetime of many years and will see the replacement of installed diesel generator UPS systems with PPS fuel cell complete containerised solutions. It also goes on to say that Bahnbau will offer these solutions to other third party customers. The CEO, Faiz Nahab went on to describe this agreement as a ‘key milestone’. Anyone unfamiliar with PPS would be best directed to a recent interview (2 September 2015) with the Business Development manager, Thomas Melczer, in order to get an overall feel of PPS and its future potential. Considering the long term view of the latest agreement with Bahnbau (10 years, suggested in the interview), this would be ideal for investors who are drawn to the idea of clean energy for the future – it’s a subject which will eventually not be able to be ignored for much longer and I feel that PPS has done much of the groundwork over the last few years in order to be perfectly placed once companies/countries realise that clean energy is something they have to seriously consider for the future of this planet! It is for these reasons why I chose to buy on the recent weakness since the news released on 29 July 2015 had already been factored into the price.
