Bought Teasers: weeks ending 25 September 2015 and 2 October 2015

Friday, 2nd October 2015 09:00 - by Moosh

Let’s change things up a bit. Anything I buy now will be mentioned as a Teaser and you have to figure out what I bought based on the clues. You’ll get the idea...keep up. Careful with the clues – they’re really not as obvious as they appear.

Company 1:

Following weakness, this company’s price dropped ~20% from its recent peak and with the interim results showing a stable cash balance of ~£2.95m and a healthy revenue figure with a good flow of news apparently due for the rest of the year, the price weakness seemed too much of a bargain. Clearly I wasn’t the only one to notice since a major shareholder also increased their holding too. On the technical front – I noticed a bullish divergence pattern, suggestive of an upcoming change in trend and there was good volume during the weakness.

Cryptic clue: Jersey

Company 2:

Following weakness, this company’s price dropped 20%+ from its recent high following positive news. Seeing as I don’t buy news, especially if overbought, I decided to wait for weakness and found it recently alongside some good volume. The market has failed to appreciate a number of recent positive developments in the company and we are due a trading update soon. On the technical front, there has been an obvious bullish divergence pattern for money flow for this company – while the price has been dropping, money flow has been on the rise, further suggestive that a change in trend is due.

Cryptic clue: extra-terrestrial

Company 3:

This suitably funded company, has given the market advanced notice of an imminent contract which is just one arm of many in their product portfolio. Again, I bought on weakness and firmly believe that once the market officially receives the go-ahead for this contract then it has the potential to trigger a reasonable move in price. On the technical front, there has already been an inflow of money into the company over the last few weeks so the buying pressure has already built up while the price has been subdued so the market is therefore just waiting for the arrival of the contract.

Cryptic clue: semi-conductor
