Still struggling to see how even it was a rapid purchase of 3 million shares that this could cause an almost 15% spike at one point. Really it's peanuts in monetary terms and insignificant given the shares already in issue.

Plenty of companies do this type of incentive based vesting, for example MCG with their new ( useless) CFO at the time almost 2 years ago ( who is now gone on his shortcomings) and it made no difference at all to the sp, and it is a third now of what the incentive target price is.

Just felt maybe like one of those betaville rumours that pop up pre close, happened at RR couple years ago on a Friday at 4 20, sp shot from 90 ish to 110 and then right back down Monday.

Hope it's something but could also be reverse trigger stop loss ploy by mms , in other words ramp it up and take out people's limit sell prices to grab the shares.

My last 80 I bought between 12-13 nearly got triggered at 15.76.

I want to reduce my overall exposure here, too stressful on over 5k per point.

I used to do the share options accounting for a plc and companies simply issue new shares to cover options at the point they vest. It costs the company nothing but dilutes existing shareholders. Companies that have done a share buy back scheme might use some of the shares they have bought back instead of cancelling them but Capita hasn't done any buy back unless I missed something.

CPI need to find an extra 3 million shares to cover the guaranteed employee benefit allocations they announce today.

Somebody buys 3 million shares in a hurry this afternoon with little regard for short-term price (certainly not somebody looking for a quick return, or dealing in fractions of a %).

It could be completely unrelated, but seems like a huge co-incidence to me.

If the share drops back on Monday then I think we'll know for sure, but I guess we just keep an eye out for a shorter-related RNS or other positive news next week.

SmallMoves - I was just now reading your comment about taking 10m shares out of the Employee benefit fund. Good lord - where are you getting all this, pardon my language, shiite from? The employee benefit scheme shares is not a piggybank that CPI can dip into anytime to issue shares to management against options (and those that haven't vested yet).
