Whitbread is laying the groundwork for a sale of part of its £700m pub and restaurant arm in a move that could place its Beefeater steakhouse chain on the chopping block.
The FTSE 100 hospitality giant is understood to have hired advisers to explore options for the division, which also houses the Brewers Fayre pub chain, amid concerns that poor food and drink sales are weighing on the wider business.
The move marks the latest chapter in the sell-off of the one-time brewer as bosses focus on repeating the UK success of its flagship hotel chain Premier Inn, in Germany.
They are posting on wrong board
@beechknot Perhaps you could elaborate please? Sorry if I'm being a noob.
Want a good day here . US Market news RNS at bsfa this morning .

Used my card on Saturday morning , breakfast tasted all the better .
Yeah ISA
@father_jack I assume that's an ISA? I'm with ii but they've refused as it's a SIPP. They did send me one a couple of years ago but they've changed the rules :(
Got it within 2 weeks after sending a secure message to II, expires end of June so assume another will have to be requested through them again then
It took a couple of months to arrive.
Agreed appleby. I'm in it for the free breakfasts - anything else is a bonus.
My buys can up as unknown why
Many thanks Biskit, I’ll see if I can obtain one
I obtained my card via iWeb S&S ISA - iWeb are owned by Halifax Share Dealing.
That is convenient. Does anyone have the discount card with a holding in a Halifax S&S ISA?
Think it’s time to stop worrying about share price and results and get back to the serious business of free breakfast and the discount card
The results make excellent reading, especially the 44% dividend rise, providing some recompense for the meagre helpings of the last few years. My feeling is that the shares will pass £40 before too long, as suggested by Peel Hunt, and the growth possibilities are impressive, especially in Germany. The company has done well by sticking to its knitting and long may that continue.
I only bought a few grand to get the breakfasts and I'm 10.63% up since April 6th !
