Thanks all. Looking forward to seeing the speculation over the weekend!
I'm going to make an educated guess on the first offer judging by market reaction . 330p cash which would of been rejected outright hence they come back with another so speculation this weekend will be intriguing
Expecting plenty of media speculation over the weekend with their 'educated guesses' on a potential price.
The SP will most likely jump up to any official pre-lim offer, when received, and I will consider a 50% sell on this first offer to lock in some profit (despite my earlier suggestion of a 400p target).
Everyone should make thier own minds up what to do. Good to have some positive options in this market, for sure, and mine will most likely change according to news over the coming weeks.
Good weekend all
Surely any approach has to be nearer to £5 as the potential is huge and the existing business is in good shape.
Any business that is serious does not approach a company like william Hill with a daft offer. Discussions are ongoing so maybe they are not too far away.
Huge day. Had £3 as my exit point having held an average of 76p however wasn’t expecting to be anywhere near that until 2021. What are people’s thoughts on next week? A small retrace or continued momentum? Any rumours on what the bod price might be?

Wouldn't be surprised if more bidders are watching carefully and I definitely won't be surprised if the offers are rejected as I think the managers this side uk europe and the us team have a long term plan but the beers going down nicely ??
I said 300 by end of year I didn’t think it would b by the end of the day ????
Novice, enjoy your beers tonight, what a Friday!!
iangibbins67gmai 300p by end of the year you say...??!! :)
This where ulrik earns his salary is it going to be enough? But I'm extremely happy and getting ****ed tonight ??
And I posted yesterday that there would not be a takeover, just goes to show what I know, enjoy the rise folks, reckon it's going to go higher.
Clearly offer has to be way above market value to be considered when US market is only just being unlocked. What are we talking about here? £5+ per share for a takeover?
There are two bidders declaring their hands so far...
Must be a good second offer as its being considered...

Response to speculation regarding William Hill plc
The Board of William Hill plc ("William Hill") notes the recent press speculation regarding a possible offer for William Hill. It confirms that it has received separate cash proposals from Apollo Management International LLP (together with Apollo Global Management, Inc. and its other subsidiaries, "Apollo") and Caesars Entertainment, Inc. ("Caesars").
Following an initial written proposal from Apollo on 27 August 2020, William Hill received a further proposal from Apollo and proposals from Caesars.
Discussions between William Hill and the respective parties are ongoing. There can be no certainty that any offer for William Hill will be made, nor as to the terms on which any offer might be made.
In accordance with Rule 2.6(a) of the Code, each of Apollo and Caesars are required, by not later than 5.00 p.m. (London time) on 23 October 2020 (being 28 days after today's date), to either announce a firm intention to make an offer for William Hill in accordance with Rule 2.7 of the Code or announce that they do not intend to make an offer, in which case the announcement will be treated as a statement to which Rule 2.8 of the Code applies. This deadline may be extended with the consent of the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers (the "Panel") in accordance with Rule 2.6(c) of the Code.
This statement is being made by William Hill without the prior agreement or approval of Apollo or Caesars.
A further announcement will be made if and when appropriate.
