A poster here posted the full Motley article the end bit here for those like me, time poor . :-(
"My concern is that Woodbois could need to raise more funds from shareholders to avoid a cash crunch. This could lead to more dilution, reducing future gains.
I’m also a little worried by the rapid departure of CEO Federico Tonetti after just five months. He was only appointed in November after agreeing a growth plan with the board.
I think Woodbois could have potential. But I don’t think it’s the best penny stock for me to buy today. I’m going to keep looking for new opportunities and will revisit Woodbois in a few months to check on progress".
Bought a tranche back ( D ) for 7.2p..... 3.28pm

I just entered a dummy buy on my fixed quote broker and got this so your 5.2p was ok.
Some brokers e.g. Jarvis/X-O , will often better your limit price and others mysteriously always pay your limit price.

Fixed price commission £5.95 , twice my IG UK frequent trader trader rate ( 3 x £8 trades in a month , gives frequent trader rate of £3 for every trade during the following month at IG. IG deal with foreign exchanges at various commission rates, frequent trader rate is just for LSE.
N.B. Frequent trader rate for trade number 4+ in a month IS NOT APPLIED unless you already receive it.
My re-entry for the long term using my dividend of £93.93 shows Jarvis at its best!

Are Woodbois shares worth me buying at 4.7p?
Jon Smith considers the recent surge in price for Woodbois shares, and wonders if the move lower last week represents a buying opportunity.
The Woodbois (LSE:WBI) share price has been on a rollercoaster ride recently. A month ago, Woodbois shares were trading at 4.45p. The price hit 8p on the first Wednesday in May, before closing last week at 4.7p. It’s down over 21% in 12 months and with most of the recent surge now gone, should I buy the shares for a second potential jump?
Reasons for the surge
It’s important to understand why Woodbois shares jumped so much in a short space of time. To begin with, the company is a penny stock with a low market capitalisation. According to my calculation, the market cap at the moment is £90m. When the market cap is low, erratic price movements can be triggered easily. If I bought £1m worth of the stock, it would cause a far greater move higher than if I bought the same amount of shares in a large-cap stock from the FTSE 100.
Therefore, when this move started to take off, the frenzied buying activity from retail investors and others quickly pushed the price even higher, given the size of the market cap at the time.
Another more fundamental reason for the jump is the impressive Q1 results that were put out a month ago. Revenue jumped 22% versus the same quarter last year, with it also being the best quarter for volume of product shipped since before the pandemic.
The outlook for the rest of the year likely helped Woodbois shares move higher. The update noted that “we expect the business to increase both scale and profitability during 2022 as new production capacity comes on-line and assuming shipping returns to more normal patterns.”
Finally, a paid ad that appeared high on the online search results claimed that a 1,000% share price increase was due. Unfortunately, this lacked any real analysis, yet could have helped drive the price higher speculatively.
Should I buy Woodbois shares now?
The fact that the surge has now almost completely re-traced makes me very sceptical about investing. To me, it’s a classic sign of a speculative move, driven without any real substance.
Sure, the Q1 results were positive, and merited a move higher. Yet to almost double in price in a few weeks feels very unnatural to me. I think many investors bought Woodbois shares to make a quick buck and have now so
Topped up again today at 2.3p .
A to large of a holding in the summer when ( D ) drooped the category and my margin was affected a lot .
Been talked about a lot online by Motley and others , over recent months .
I see I had time to post on this site on Birthday, but not the day before when I bought IKA :- )
As a quick reminder, Woodbois owns and operates sawmills and veneer factories in Africa. With around 23 hectares of forest at its disposal, the group provides a steady stream of hardwood and related products. Meanwhile, with a reforestation division, the firm operates in an environmentally friendly way, ranking as the eighth most sustainable timber supplier worldwide.
The latest quarterly results showed revenues growing by 29%, reaching $5.8m. This largely stems from increased production as sawmill and veneer activities surged by 78% and 45% respectively, compared to last year’s average.
Needless to say, that’s good. So why has the penny stock taken such a beating? It seems investors got a bit overeager, sending the valuation to frankly absurd levels. Even today, after dropping by 50% in the last 12 months, its market capitalisation stands at around £52m. That puts the price-to-sales ratio at a lofty 10 times!
Given time, the firm may grow enough to justify the high price tag, making it

I see, I was the first trade, under the new name, which was a buy, not a sell as shown here."
Motley 16th February 2023
Woodbois owns and operates a collection of sawmills and veneer factories based in Africa. It plays a critical role in the supply of hardwoods and softwoods to the region as well as the general global markets.
Today the company has a material portfolio that spans over 23 hectares of forest. However, the firm’s unique operating procedures put a lot of emphasis on sourcing materials sustainably through reforestation. Despite its small size, the group is currently the eighth-most sustainable timber supplier worldwide.

What are penny stocks?
Penny stocks is a term used to describe shares of a publicly listed company that is very small. While some variations exist, a business is typically placed into the “penny” category if they have a low share price of less than £1 and the total market capitalisation is less than £100m.
Due to their small size, these companies are often financially weak, with limited resources, and have unproven business models. This makes them highly susceptible to insolvency, especially during times of economic turmoil. It’s also the reason why penny stocks are notoriously volatile and risky.
In fact, a 2012 study investigated the performance of penny stocks in the US between 2001 and 2010. The results showed that, on average, penny stocks delivered a -60.54% annual return to investors, with share prices being roughly 2.9 times more volatile than companies listed on the NASDAQ exchange.1
Despite the high risk associated with penny shares, they remain incredibly popular among investors with a high risk tolerance. Why?
...................................................................
For short-term traders, the stock price volatility creates opportunities to profit from large swings in valuation. But for long-term investors, if a penny stock can beat the odds and achieve success, the potential gains can be ginormous.
.................................................................................................
Can you get rich trading penny stocks?
Buying shares in a successful business while it’s still in its early stages is an enriching process. It’s not uncommon for investors to enjoy triple- or even quadruple-digit returns over the long run should a small enterprise eventually become an industry leader.
The possibility of ginormous returns is why penny stocks are so popular. But with massive rewards come massive risks.
As previously stated, the stock market’s average return of penny shares is pretty abysmal. The vast majority end up failing to deliver on expectations, leaving many excited investors with little or nothing left of their original investment.
Therefore, penny stock trading for the short term or investing in the long term can be a successful path to becoming rich. However, the odds of succeeding are exceptionally slim.
So is your last post basically admitting you bought too high for this poor performing stock....

In spite of the bad taste left by the blatant insider trading around the Woodbois placing: BUY
It seems to be ‘dodgy placing’ season on the lower end of AIM at the moment, and they don’t come any worse than the recent Woodbois (WBI) fundraise where the law was broken at least once, and most likely multiple times!
The 3m Placing was for 1.2p
