I’m an FD of a FTSE 250 company, trust me, VOD will know what the first three months alook like anlready and forecast EBITDA in April after the 7.9% price increases. I suspect is a material step change in performance.
Betting their respective houses on Vodafone shares tells me what I need to know. That’s enough for me to go in big.
Rob, If the results in May are good, the sp will go up, if bad then down. We don't know what they will be like, so what more can we say? We can all guess of course. My wishfull thinking guess is good. I think what you need is a crystal ball. If you find one, let me know 1st.
I’m actually looking forward to this annual report to see if this is still a good place to be etc. I wonder if any green shoots or the same old. So we’ll see what is in store.
It will be good for some sort of Insight. Something which has been lacking and has attached to the SP
Something nobody is talking about here is the Final results in May, I wouldn't get too excited just yet, I am hoping we see a rise in sp here before the results
I think the only pain right now is debt, hopefully they'll work to reduce it. Otherwise, I am expecting good news in the mid-term.
N.b. Vodafone P/E ratio is ludicrous compared to industry average, quick google: "The Telecom Services industry has a total of 56 stocks, with a combined market cap of $1,090.49 billion, total revenue of $882.67 billion and a weighted average PE ratio of 16.36". Vodafone's P/E is under 2. They need to improve cash flow, and having seen Mucic - who is in charge of Vod's finance - take a plunge such as this, is very encouraging. He has a high degree of confidence they can pull if off.
Its interesting how negligible impact on the SP came from Mucic's purchase. Single biggest purchase of Vodafone stock from a senior board member and markets couldn't care less.
He is not a tech billionaire or in his 20s so I would imagine he can't afford to lose. I would expect announcement between now and May about further merger or acquisition. Most likely it will be involving E& - either a further purchase or takeover of Vodacom business (which was fully separated in the latest reorg). Finally, a possible takeover giving 50% upside.
I think those expecting RR turnaround story will be disappointed but if you want possible 30-50% return, its not a bad place to park your cash.
No I know that, but getting wind of interested organisations who may be sniffing around may be a possibility
Most likely, an upgrade to 2024/25 and plan to sell off another business to clear the debt
Any other thoughts everyone on why these two directors have bet their houses on the share price going up?
This is an awful lot of money for directors of a PLC
Thanks, sorty wasn’t being lazy, manic day yesterday.
So maybe the results are going to be ahead of expectations. Full year 2024/25 clearly going to be an upgrade.
Xxxacc. What is absolute rubbish?? Of course they can invest on what they know about there business, but not on insider info.
Xxx, Next event as far as i know is Final results 14 May 2024
Agreed
But if it’s simply people sniffing around but haven’t yet signed up to enter data room, no problem
Does anyone know when the next trading update is?
Depends, if they are in due diligence in any deals their likely be asked to sign a form stopping them from trading. I work in finance and we were buying a competitor and I had to sign a form which forbid me from trading on the stock on either business, but that was a US listed company so might just be SEC thing? But yes if they have build a forecast and that's telling them things are rosey and it's not during the closed window then they can buy or sell to their hearts content.
And if businesses are sniffing around, again get in there
Absolute rubbish
Of course they can invest based on what they know about their business, they cannot trade in closed periods but that it
So if their business is forecasting a big profit from April after price rises, get in there
I think a positive trading update for FY24 coming
Dan, A long term hold is a short term hold gone wrong, we are only young once mate, of course we all want it to go up as quickly as possible so we can be rewarded, let's all be honest here, but i get LTIs point about them buying back at a lower price
Anyway not a bad finish to the day, let's hope it can move on towards the 80s
Have a good Bank holiday all
Directors are not allowed to deal based on inside information not available to the general shareholders, but they can deal based on there interpratation of general rumours/info useing there expert knowledge of the business. These buys could be possitive, but they are not that big, so better than nothing I reckon. Nice to get back into the 70's
