"Gary. Come on mate, we all ant to know. Where did you get this, "The dividend is now under review" From?"
He hasn't read anything official stating that, it was mentioned in at least one article that the new CEO should look into the dividend, Gary is just putting his own spin on it.
In all honesty, it wouldn't surprise me if a new CEO does drop the dividend, but it isn't currently being telegraphed. I still think a Vodafone/Verizon merger will be announced in the New Year lol.
Same as a ham role i spose. Although I'm vegetarian.
G.S. Do you mean a role in a play that's cheesy, or a misspelt roll with cheese in it? Get a grip mate?!
Anyways, I'm off to bed to read my book in a minute. Just gotta fill the bed warming pan with hot coals. See y'all tomorrow morning at 6am.
There's a limit to how far Vodafone will fall, since Vodafone will start buying back more stock if it drops too low. Vodafone can't be too far from the bottom now, I'm surprised it's dropped as low as it has, I think it'll find its way above £1 again, in the not too distant future.
Gary. Come on mate, we all ant to know. Where did you get this, "The dividend is now under review" From?
"Fleccy.. I don't get your post, Please explain. d.jones.says. Given50k budget to find a new replacement. You say 50k given to Read to find a new role. Sounds the same to me? "
Djones appeared to be under the impression that Vodafone are paying a headhunter 50k to find a replacement CEO. What was actually stated is that Read has been awarded a 50k allowance to pay a headhunter, agency, or whatever you want to call them, to help him find a new job.
It's a cheese role probably
Fleccy.. I don't get your post, Please explain. d.jones.says. Given50k budget to find a new replacement. You say 50k given to Read to find a new role. Sounds the same to me? I just hope it is not both, 100k? You are just splitting hairs as usual. It might have been cheaper to keep Nick on though? Time will tell? Only sack them if you have someone better? Blindingly obvious.
The tone on Wall Street seemed to turn very bearish today. The Nasdaq has fallen by about a third in one year. If it follows in a similar style to the 2000 - 2003 crash then the bottom will be not next Christmas but the following Christmas (2024). It's likely that Vodafone will perform in line with the Nasdaq in my opinion.
Mole-man. You are Tarka Dhal ? I just ordered a mole-man from my Indian take away, I thought it was tandoori mole? Very disappointed. Well ,that was as much sense as I could make of your post? I do love a good curry though!!
OldLong. A.K.A. ( know it all accountant). So what would you have done then? Are you saying an accountant can't run a company? Not even you then? Come on, you know as well I do, you are being to simplistic. Read as C.E.O. run vod with the help of other accountants . He failed for many reasons, mostly, the failing, competitive, mobile phone market. Of course we all need strong entrepreneurs (blindingly obvious) but who are they.. I don't know, any more than you do. When you do, please let me know, instead of you daft, know it all comments?
who has quoted "under review" not seen it quoted anywhere???
Danny boy is always happy. Shame about you lot, Never mind. You could always just get a life? One day?? Just try getting out of the gutter, instead of blaming everybody else for your sad life?
Slight pop at the end there to keep Danny boy happy. Very exciting day for everyone.
Just visited this site to get a handle on Reid. Have to say I would prefer two hands.
This is a classic case of an Accountant being a CEO. The wrong type to lead a Company I'm afraid.
This business is in massive decline and failed in emerging markets and the share price has been abysmal over the last few years.
Thanks Reidy for all that and I'm an Accountant, too!
British Gas has had similar leadership issues..
Companies need a strong entrepreneur who can grow a business with a strong FD keeping him in check.
' adding that dividend policy should be treated as under review'
sounds like something a jefferies analyst has said.
The BoD had the opportunity to say that but have committed to the next two dividends which is what MDV will be making sure lands as published
Dan, the doomsters are out in force and some are just here to disrupt, it maybe a case that it had to get this bad before it can get better, let's hope they can find the right replacement CEO with a good reputation for turning businesses around
hopefully this will be looking better next year
will be interesting to see what happens here tomorrow, hopefully this has reached it's bottom
best of luck
So now we have it & I for one think it will be a good thing. The dividend here is now “under review” & we all know what that means. A 50% (if it’s that much) reduction will still see a divi of over 4% & an SP increase as the debt can be reduced with the divi money being saved.
Quote … “Vodafone faces "intractable headwinds", adding that dividend policy should be treated as under review.
Niel, who bought a 2.5% stake in Vodafone in September, said in an emailed statement: "A change of CEO only makes sense if the new CEO has a clear roadmap from the board of directors."
He said the roadmap should include streamlining Vodafone, selling infrastructure to reduce debt, driving cash generation and improving margins and focusing on broadband in Germany.
"When the tide goes out, you can see many of them not wearing a bathing suit" I can just picture the B.O.D. of vodafone, stark ******* naked on Brighton beech! Not a pretty sight?
Danny boy - I'm a day trader obviously
G.S. Don't give up your day job? Oh forgot! You don't have one?
I am Tarka Dhal
I was just gonna suggest myself Danny boy
Mikey. That was a rise in the last hour, not a fall. You have got your head on,upside down again! Just remember, your chin goes at the bottom, not the top!
