'Look at EUR to RAND' VOD treasury hedges everything (at a cost)
before buying in. Suggests they have been assured dividend is safe.
Look at EUR to RAND it's fallen allot. Any income from Vodacom will be less. It's not speculative
Also turkey has earthquake.
"South Africa has allot of power issues with Eskom. Vodacom will be affected."
mehmehmeh, you're scraping the bottom of the barrel with that one; A very speculative and unconvincing conclusion, you'll have to work harder on your negative narratives.
Slowly all the good news is being sold off. Could loose all gains.
South Africa has allot of power issues with Eskom. Vodacom will be affected.
going on the performance of this share over the last 6 years, lets hope it is better managed over the next 6 years whoever is in charge , a big ask i know but this share is really down in the doldrums right now and they need to pull something good out of the bag for it to change direction and restore confidence
fingers crossed here
gla
Still no CEO. Perhaps they can't find anybody better than Nick Read? No point sacking the CEO if you can't find anybody better? The BOD do not control the share price, it is controlled by the stock market, rightly or wrongly , like it or not.
If I'm reading the notice correctly the director (who's female) hasn't sold shares. She's taken back cash she'd saved towards an option to buy - the share price is slightly less than the option price, so she's letting the option lapse.
The current buyback scheme ends no later than 15 March. VOD said they'd buy a maximum 504,185,187 shares. Anyone been counting? They're probably still well under the buyback limit authorised at last July's AGM (just over 2.8 billion), and surely will have spent less than the £580 million allocated to the current scheme, so they may announce a further scheme.
Having trouble with your medication again are you Gary?
danielh - Saying that the VOD BOD do not control the share price is just so naive. All the important decisions taken by these overpaid charlatans dictate directly on the performance of the company & therefore the share price of investors who each own their large or small part of the company. Decisions taken years ago by those long gone such as overpaying vastly for acquisitions & massively increasing company debt is still being felt today by those holding here.
Are you sure investing real money on the stock market is for you? I ask as you don't seem to understand the basic fundamentals.
They're probably not bothering now, just leaving it open until Hans Vestberg steps in.
still no ceo its been 2 months nicks gone and 3 months since they announced.
That's so not accurate. The buck stops with bod, with regards to poor performance.
My door is always open.
The VOD BOD do not control the share price, it is controlled by negative, or positive investors. So try to be more positive , if that is not too much to ask, & please close the door behind you. Thank you.
Telefonica SA = 3.81 EUR +0.040 (1.06%)today
Deutsche Telekom AG = 21.06 EUR +0.16 (0.74%)today
BT Group= 140.40 GBX +1.10 (0.79%)today
Orange SA = 10.91 EUR +0.12 (1.11%)today
Vodafone BOD,
Please could you get the share price of your multi billion pound company considerably higher than it is now.
That's not too much to ask.
If you can't please leave and close the door behind you.
Thanks so much
not sure BT is rising.
The Director selling could be just simply because he is going through a divorce - or its fundamentally for other reasons. Think it will dip back to the 90s in the coming days and weeks
Might explain director selling shares, vodaphone buying back. Is there a correction coming?
"Under a pound in coming" -- What rubbish! Let's hope so.
Oh, no hold on. It's up a bit.
Wonders will never cease
Under a pound in coming.
What rubbish.
Probably accelerating as the swamp alligator will want it stopped, if he ever exercises how options. Poor use of capital.
Buybacks are near the end? Anyone know? They seemed to have increased to 16m buys a day.
