When recession darkens our door in the next 6-12 months time where do we see Vod as a utility company positioning itself?
Danny boy - You said you wasn't gonna be on here anymore but now you is back, what is happening?
Deferred tax is an asset because it avoids tax on future income. Nothing to show VOD future income at risk in a regulated market. Just look at 3 VOD UK competition commission enquiry and EU dragging their feet on 3 O2 merger legal interpretation. The regulated market is here for along time yet and so is mobile connectivity/internet.
MDV will deliver the cashflow (as guided) and you are getting 11% yield for a long time (unless the SP rises..). With no short term liquidity issues, the macro economics will be back to some kind of normal where there is a sensible interest rate/ pricing of risk etc and thats already clearly forming like a storm cloud for non performing loans etc in other industries.
As for goodwill, VODs brand value is in excess of €20Bn and a global lead, hence E& interest.
Accolade this week goes to "Beo1 " well done
Vod closing Sp 14th July 72.2p
Another close run Prophecy
Speech Speech Beo1
Enjoy your weekend
Full list will follow...atb
Freedom4Uall. Surely if the net assets are 65bn, that is after taking into account the 19bn & 27bn you refer to? Your post makes no sense if you can't be bothered to explain it. The only Freedom I need is from idiots like you!
Freedom, I suggest you stay away from vod then.
Bye bye
Net Assets 65bn, deduct 19b deferred tax asset and 27b goodwill = 19b Net Asset Value, thats all this rubbish company is worth.
Jax maybe you should do the same.
If it was a weighting related spike you'd expect BT to have also seen a volume spike, but it didn't:

Are they just tracking the FTSE weighting.
The Blackrock notification said the transaction took place on the 13th July, yet a high volume of trades went through on the 12th July, with 412,049,065 shares traded.

Anyone know what caused the spike on the 12th July?
Reducing their holding
Don’t blame them
Think VOD is moving toward software defined networking. Certainly more tech than machinery. 5G more efficient at using the connectivity I guess
Its clear from Ericsson and Nokia results that oerpators are driving a hard bargain to reduce their input costs 😉
'Buy rating maintained by broker and a revised figure over double the current price.'
If I had the cash, I would double up at this low price. Anyways, lovely dividend shortly.
Eyes down for a positive MDV and outlook.
Buy rating maintained by broker and a revised figure over double the current price.
'Damp squib'
It's raining where I am
Jax, remind us when will this be in the 60s and 50s you promised us?
Or damp squib?
