7% is the figure that JP Morgan think the BOE base rate will peak at, also that the UK economy is heading for a very hard landing. But VOD is sheltered from this I hear you cry & yes they may be to a certain extent. However, even if VOD is not impacted directly, they may still experience second-hand effects due to the increased price of energy & of goods from suppliers. This could well push inflation even higher, further eroding sales. Whatever is happening out there it's not good news in the short term. Anyone expecting a quick profit here had better think again.
'Anyone expecting a quick profit here had better think again.'
We are talking about Vodafone. Nothing quick happens at Vodafone
It will happen quick. Market cap will dictate cost/demand of bond or take over bid. Or it will have to preserve cash. Or update will give a new belief or not. This will change quite a bit by the end of the month one way or other!
Compared to other shares today VF was reasonable!
Vodagone will be history soon
Interest rates will kill off the dividend and that's the only reason people put money into this junk. There's no future for a company paying over the odds for licences that will never return. Shareholdeds are losing out bonuses and salaries are being paid like this is a successful company
Unbelievable
Vodafone is a cash flow monster and isn't going anywhere. Do you read the accounts at all. Seems not.
Voda has unparalleled pricing power that adjusts with inflation. Interest rates? Irrelevant to voda.
FED paused in fomc, VOD up tomorrow imo
‘FED paused in fomc, VOD up tomorrow imo’
Just like it’s holding up in the US now huh
Think debt hedges on vod SP unwind...guessing of course
For everyone who is serious and invested here, you have to have conviction. Yes this share and surrounding news has been negative and turbulent. But i ask you to take a moment to focus on how you’ll feel owning this stock at a good profit, from these lows and it yielding 10% having turned the corner and positive news flowing around a world renowned brand? It may be painful for a while, but I personally believe that reward is waiting.
Jax just like you said last time we would go into the 60s guaranteed and we didn't huh?
This is going down 3% tomorrow
Jax, can't you make it go down 4% tomorrow then you'll get your "in the 60s prediction" as I'm waiting to top up!!! 😴
4% down would be great. Top up time plus Jax can finally stop posting the same message.
Jax can you update us if you have sold since you know VOD is going to drop 3% today??
Look we all know where Vod heads when the ftse sinks
And you can take a pretty good guess where Vod heads overall
Do you think this dog will ever recover.
The divi should make it look like an attractive share but if it keeps falling wipes out divi .
Once this dogshyt breaks .70 my PUTS are going to print….love it. Just a reminder, you don’t invest in the U.K., it’s for shorting and trading purposes only haha. Brexit destroyed any hope for the U.K. economy, just watch what unfolds over next few years, especially in the ftse and for sterling. Expect to get A LOT poorer if you are invested in U.K. assets or have a U.K. pension. Property will be down 30/40pc before this is over, check out self off in builders shares….mirror of 2008.
Sounds like a good time to be buying
Voda doing quite well today compared to broader market.
It gives me no pleasure to say this bit I'm afraid that I tend to agree with Porsche about the state of the UK economy going forward.
So much so that this week I have sold two of staple funds which are heavily invested over here, Vanguard 80% & 100% Lifestrategy funds. Now what to do with £70K + (Ideas on a postcard, as they used to say on Blue Peter I think)
It can’t go any lower surely haha
100 90 80 70…..60 50 40
This week next week the week after
Jax again wide of the mark today. Not 60's and not even 3% which you promised us for top up.
What a Muppet you are.
‘wide of the mark today’
Hardly - you had this turd up today lol
