Hello fleccy. Nice one mate. & there is me thinking you have no sense of humour. Nasty elephant, go away. No. not you fleccy. Trouble with mobile phones, you can't do trunk calls anymore.
When the markets realise we are heading slowly into recession worldwide people will come flocking back for safety. £3-£4bn cash inflow with inflation mechanisms in our customers contracts to protect us, I’d say this is a safe haven stock right now.
You'd think that 2 days before ex dividend this would be back above a pound....well....by the end of the week it's going to struggle to hold 90p
"but I am not going to do a fleccy, as I can see the elephant in the room, but I think he will eventually go away to his graveyard, were he belongs?"
What did I ever do to you Daniel. prompting you to suggest I belong in a graveyard?
Lol, his success rate is a hair pin better than that of a coin flip. So put it on a big ignore.
One couldn't make this $hit up!

Gutter, I feel another song coming on......It's a Rat Trap..........and you've been caught.........:-))
Vodafone are huge multi national corporation, that have networks and infrastructure in an industry that isn’t going away ( this isn’t a cyclical or luxury sector ) we are now bonded with our mobiles and the internet for, what I can see, at least the rest of my lifetime…and Vodafone are one of the big boys in the playground.
Negatives: Massive debt and dividends payments not very well covered by earnings. Key personnel leaving. Consumer debt, all time low consumer saving and energy crisis are rampant…will eventually mean people spend less over the next few years.
Positives: An almost necessary utility at this point (mobiles and internet) so a product that most people won’t/can’t live without.
All time lows in share price with a good dividend.
Conclusion: At this point in time, I consider this a turnaround play. Which means there’s more risk involved than usual. Same boat as Rolls-Royce as far as I’m concerned.
IMHO DYOR NFA
IT'S A TRAAAPP
Hello rob. I think you may get your 93p ex divi, or even less the way things are going. I hope not of course. Do you think you will buy ex divi? I am still positive about vod in the medium term, but I am not going to do a fleccy, as I can see the elephant in the room, but I think he will eventually go away to his graveyard, were he belongs? Wish me luck, because I bloody need it. I see Mikey Klammer, the famous downhill skier is back again.
So tempting to buy today but haven't got the courage. Maybe tomorrow and get that fat dividend. Or maybe not. Dunno. Might be a trap.
Guttersnipe you are a funny & witty individual, love the Spice Girls post. I always ask my older brother who has been working in the city for decades if I should buy a share, he is usually spot on but not always.
Anyway as far as VOD is concerned there are faint rumours apparently that large investors are pushing for a break up of the company. This being the only way out of the massive debt cycle. Don't shoot the messenger fellow posters I'm only trying to post upbeat stuff cos there's a lot of negativity around.
Doyen Dan (DD) it was a very easy to solve , just have to come from a different angle to out smart the bots...answer on CMCX ..chat board ...im no match to your funny wit....keep em coming
Robleo....im sure that offer would cause a stampede, i have seen a few shares go up after ex div date ..also i hold all of those shares named in your posting , bar AV which i sold before share consolidation , use dividendmax to hunt down high paying dividend shares , Dow Jones is closed Thur/Fri (info thats all)...atb
Credit Suisse is a bankrupt bank ridden with scandal.
Who cares what they think?
Sorry think i need a new phone as well, that didn't come out right
Maybe you should have waited be a few days for be the bogof deal lol
I've gone in big with 5 shares...:-))
Looks like the black Friday bargain hunters have moved in ?
Somebody liked Vodafone just recently. Moved up almost 1p/share...
'morcambe and wise, hrrrmph...****nal'
Bring me sunshine, in your smile
Bring me laughter, all the while
In this world where we live
There should be more happiness
So much joy you can give
To each brand new bright tomorrow
Make me happy, through the years
Never bring me, any tears
Let your arms be as warm
As the sun from up above
Bring me fun, bring me sunshine
Bring me love
Bring me sunshine, in your smile
Bring me laughter, all the while
In this world where we live
There should be more happiness
So much joy you can give
To each brand new bright tomorrow
Make me happy, through the years
Never bring me, any tears
Let your arms be as warm
As the sun from up above
Bring me fun, bring me sunshine
Bring me love, sweet love
Bring me fun, bring me sunshine
Bring me love
MeshT....I won't bother bringing in the tea, I think you all need a stiff Gin and a dose of reality...Maybe I'll sing you a Spice Girls Song...two becomes one....:-))
They need some love like they've never needed love before
Lol....maybe if the BOD had waited a few months they could have bought the shares back a lot cheaper than they have been buying them at recently...maybe if they wait a bit longer they'll be able to get them at 80p....what a stupid tactic, wakey wakey there's a €45 billion elephant sat in the room.
Moniman, can you bring us some tea please? No sugar and take off your shoes when you enter the trading room.
Moniman - The chart is the Spice girls song, 2 becomes 1. £2 becomes £1. Vodafone needs some love like it's never needed love before.
