I spoke to Vedanta today to ask when this extra divi announced so widely was going to take place as the payment date had passed. i was told that VED in the UK was not part of the Vedanta resource company in India and that therefore we in the UK would not recieve any part of the record dividend announced. I was refered to the March 13th RNS and was told it is a different company paying out the divi. I told the person that i was extremely hacked of as i considered myself to be a long term shareholder and as a result should also recieve something but i was politely told this was not the case even though all shareholders whether private or instituions were treated the same. I begged to differ. SO if you are expecting a payout and your share is VED then it will not happen. If you are part of Vedanta INdia resources with a different share reference (not VED but something in India) then i gues you will. I made it very clear i was very disappointed. Ned
Must be this year surely with the extra 600 million in divis??
As far as I know it's not due until August.
hi all. I thought the divi as it was an extra was meant to be paid around the 17th april from what i read. it has not appeared yet so just curious if anyone has any news despite the 2 posts below. i have also seen articles saying $1.28 to 20 rupees (20p) which is quite a difference so also some clarification would be good. Cheers Ned
Really? Never underestimate the power of ved to disappoint...
Thanks Vedanta. Should go over 800p within a few weeks.
well, at least we finished blue if only just..
streuth.? glen getting hammered even more....sanctions?
https://www.theguardian.com/business/live/2018/apr/04/china-us-trade-war-tariffs-wpp-markets-eurozone-jobs-business-live we need this to blow over first ,itz playing havoc with the miners atm
another red day for VED..
Ved resources will announce FY results and dividend in late May I would expect, Ved Plc are benefiting from the record div announced last week.
Vedanta Plc will receive c. $0.6 billion of the announced interim dividend. ₹320 share price and a dividend of ₹21 equates to about 6.5% at today's price. I believe that is the current yield if you buy today but I will only know for certain when the payment arrives in my account. Net debt of Vedanta should fall, this dividend was double what analysts were expecting according to Bloomberg. Dividends further out should rise as Copper, Zinc and Aluminum are all expected to make gains in the second half of the year.
Not the best time to sell before a hefty dividend. Markets are having a bad time right now but they will bounce back and this looks a decent level to be buying IMO
There is something wrong with this share.. can't get my head round why it just isn't moving up as well as others in the sector
Can anyone decifer the new report on the Ved section of the London Stock Exchange of today regarding a record dividend due in March?
never underestimate the power of ved to disappoint...
We are on another up turn. Should get to 900 by the end of the month. Got some more at 728. Just thought I'd share that.

you could be right. i give up.lol.
Defo not giving up. I just think this will test 700 next week.
well i must admit,i didnt trade this,so down, but compared to other sectors, like technology,we got off lightly. good luck with the goldy....but i wouldnt give up on the base metals just yet, they usually top out, when inflation peaks. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2018/02/08/the-stock-market-is-officially-in-a-correction--heres-what-usually-happens-next.html
Acacia Mining (Gold) Vedanta seems to be like a nervous sibling to Anglo American, Fresnillo etc.... takes more to get it moving. But if you have a disciplined attitude it could be relatively straightforward to trade it's highs and lows (I know. Famous last words)
no idea what acaa is,but glm,i know this one just doesnt seem to follow the general trend, compared to its piers, annoying. maybe at some point,it willl.
