dollar.?..in freefall againlol anyway, the indian sensex looking ok atm..http://www.infomine.com/investment/stock-markets/indexes/bsesn/5-year/
Ha! Of course. Pretty fundamental I suppose
just copied from ionic,a dollar trader. the trends still lower....https://ibb.co/kDtDKG
just about all miners and oilies are paid in dollars. so if the pound rises against the dollar...then that's less revenues/profits,when it's converted back into pounds. the plot thickens again.lol.
Fingers crossed we're now back to a declining dollar being the norm! Whats the impact of the ?
the dollar volitility is off the scale m8. yesterday it rallied, today its tanking? so its the dollar wobbling the metal prices around.....china's taking a back seat atm. imo and just to complicate things, sterling has rallied.lol.
I'm relatively new to dealing based on commodity prices but am I correct in thinking that every day prices are sensationally described as about to go through the roof or tank? A couple of weeks ago Copper was set to rocket on demand from China and lowered inventories. Yesterday it seemed everyone was overflowing with the stuff on the basis of one bit of news. low and behold it's now up over 1% on the basis of no news. Similarpattern with oil.
We're only the 8th worst off!
as swar******,sez no pain,no gain.lol. damn

interesting take on our sector.....https://www.youtube.com/embed/3GBjbUwB-NA
https://charts.tradingcentral.com/charts/vedgbp180120102929.gif Our preference: the upside prevails as long as 847 is support. Alternative scenario: the downside breakout of 847 would call for 790.5 and 757.5. Comment: the RSI is above 50. The MACD is above its signal line and positive. The configuration is positive. Moreover, the stock is above its 20 and 50 day MA (respectively at 860.1 and 788.11). Supports and resistances: 1083 ** 1049.5 * 1015.5 ** 981 891 (GBp-last) 868 847 ** 790.5 * 757.5 ** --- TRADING CENTRAL is a commentary service specialising in technical analysis. short term swings are a pain in the a55.lol.but we're still in an outperforming sector, which should last, while world inflation is still growing. but dont get complacent, that ISM manufacturing index will top out in the next year or two, maybe three,...then it'll be a big pullback,if your a bliever in those CYCLICAL charts.
Oh I agree. The fundamentals remain that stocks of copper are lowering and demand is increasing. Alongside this the Dollar is in long term decline etc etc I know I shouldn't get too excited about about recent events which seem due to a dollar upturn. But given my system seems to have worked for the last couple of months I hate to see it trip up for no reason! Perhaps I'm not drinking enough these days GLA
just my guess...but i think we just encounted a step back,in an uptrend. and atm,the mining sector is going, slightly north.
I'd have hoped when 3 big winds were blowing in the right direction though.....!
it's been like this for years, this comp doesnt always seem to follow the usual indicators, like china, metal prices, dollar et. no idea why?
WTF? Shorter? Both Copper and Zinc up. Cracking figures from china and then this!
ved's going in the wrong direction.lol...https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/17/chinese-q4-gdp-china-reports-fourth-quarter-gross-domestic-product.html
china gdp data,out later.
yeah, spread it about, its a lot safer, just incase your unfortunate enought to get stuck in a carrillion type comp. commod sector has a lot of legs yet.imo. work time, byeeeeeee bottom feeding wise, serco is still cheap.lol. bme looks good, has long has europe keeps bombing along.
.....ing behind their commodity (eg ACA or PFC) Not saying 1000 is my cut off point. Just that's when I start thinking of selling GLA
