"I just sold as a precaution." Bought more as a precaution.
I just sold as a precaution. If the share price shows signs of stabilising, I'll buy back in.
7(ish) may get tested.
About half of that due to the events at the smelting plant. The rest normal market movement with miners. Had a cheeky t20 at 7.64 but still a bit to fall maybe?
Update on Tuticorin Smelter Vedanta Resources plc's subsidiary Vedanta Limited today made the below announcement. The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, in the PIL filed against the Company, has stated that the application for renewal of Environment Clearance for the Tuticorin Copper Smelter plant 2 project, shall be processed after conduct of mandatory public hearing and the application shall be decided by the competent authority on or before September 23, 2018. In the interim, the High Court has ordered the Company to cease construction and all other activities onsite for proposed Copper Smelter plant 2 project with immediate effect till the decision of the MoEF.
The SP has completely dived today. Nearly 11%
Hi Drusus. As I thought sadly. How do you know? Very annoying to put it mildly. Shame they did not think of a share buy back. I wrote to investor relations and did not have the courtesy of a reply. Probably all watching the IPL!! Ned

The 600 million was used for deleverage. This is the only bit of the company that dosent get a special divi.Grrrrrrr!
Nine die as Tuticorin Sterlite Copper protest turns violent http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-44207343
today should be good,or so you would think.....https://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory/us-china-putting-trade-war-hold-progress-talks-55310274
With a fresh break from consolidation area I expect this to offer further upside. May backtest break but further upside to be expected here, imo. https://www.tradingview.com/x/YjZLjb7S/
Not sure I did, I put the sales proceeds into PMO at 98p - cashed up there at 119. All fun and games.
You sold too early then. But this will be up and down over the coming year more often than a *****s drawers. Could go to 10...could go to 6. More likely the prior so I'm holding for double digits. GLA
Too high now for my liking. Was in at 690 and sold at 740.....
With the breakout this has a 950 target, imo.
This makes us very very profitable.Special Divi Tuesday anyone?
I've had this share for longer than I should and I have never understood it's volatility. Results due soon - perhaps they will be better than expected and a lift in divi? It's only my hope, not based upon facts. steve
This feels peaky to me. Theres no reason it should keep rising (price of copper, Chinese economy, general uncertainty)
getting somewhere back towards 11 with the oil price so high. By the end of 2018 hopefully.
Never underestimate the power of ved to disappoint...wish i could write something else...
Drusus - you are quite right, Vedanta plc., who declared the large divi, is a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources in which we are invested. As you say, some of the 600 million could be used to increase our final dividend.
Hi Drusus. Unfortunately that was not made very clear by the person i spoke to. She has relayed my displeasure to the people in India (so she has said) as i felt this was very misleading to make such an announcement and then find we are not part of it given the great splash of news made. I told her that this should have been made much much clearer to which she could not comment as this was not part of her job and she was just answering the phone from the main switchboard. There is no question that she was trying to be helpful. From what was said i felt we are getting zero. Ned
Hi Ned, I am aware that we are invested in the holding company, not the Indian company.I was alluding to the $600 million that the holding company(us) has received as a dividend from a subsiduary. Some of that should be used as a special divi for us. The divi will be anounced in May as per the RNS. I am hopeful !!!
