Wyld Networks sign an agreement with Staw Agricultura to deploy Wyld Connect for strawberry production in Brazil
FRI, FEB 23, 2024 08:30 CETReport this content
Brazilian strawberry producer, Staw Agricultura, will deploy Wyld Network’s sensor to satellite technology to collect soil moisture data from strawberry farms in the south-east of Brazil.
The global fresh strawberry market size was valued at US$ 19.1 billion in 2022 and is expected to expand at a CAGR of 6.03% between 2024 and 2031, reaching US$ 27.2 billion by 2031.
Central to this rapid growth is the Brazil strawberry production market exemplified by Staw Agricultura based in the city of Pinhalão in the Brazilian State of Parana. Staw Agricultura utilise new technologies to produce high quality, high yielding strawberries. They aim to guarantee the traceability of strawberries from production to the final consumer, thus guaranteeing high quality fruit, produced in a sustainable, safe and great tasting way.
Staw Agricultura’s innovative automated irrigation system avoids wasting water. In conventional irrigation systems, 274 litres of water are used to produce 1 kilo of strawberries. The Staw Agricultura system uses as little as 54 litres to produce 1 kilo of strawberries. Management of water usage is enhanced by soil moisture monitoring which is being enabled by Wyld’s satellite connectivity to increase plant productivity and reduce environmental impacts.
There is currently a major push by agricultural companies and government agencies in Brazil to collect more data. Wyld’s satellite IoT solution enables the collection of agricultural data in rural Brazil where often there is no other available option.
“We are delighted to start this exciting new partnership with Staw Agricultura from Brazil to deliver important soil moisture data,” said Alastair Williamson, CEO Wyld Networks. ”Deployment of satellite IoT connectivity in the region will continue its rapid growth delivering increased yields while reducing the impact on natural resources.”

The US based venture capital firm specializes in investments in high growth cyber technology businesses.
Device Authority, a global leader in identity and access management for Enterprise IoT ecosystems, has secured a further $2m in Series A funding from Prelude, the venture practice for Mercato Partners.
The US based venture capital firm specializes in investments in high growth cyber technology businesses. It chose to invest in Device Authority due to the strength of its team, its innovative SaaS KeyScaler platform, which helps Enterprises deliver zero trust for IoT, and its expanding use cases, solving real problems that customers face in the market.
According to Fortune Business Insights, the global IoT market is increasing at a compound annual growth rate of 26.1% and is expected to reach $3352.97 billion by 2030. However, when coupled with the fact that on average every week, 54% of organizations suffer from attempted IoT-focused cyber-attacks[1], this makes effective identity and access management a priority for business risk mitigation and compliance.
Commenting on the investment, Device Authority CEO Darron Antill said, “As a company that is immersed in the connected world and sees the latest use cases being deployed by our customers all over the world, we are acutely aware of how important it is to ensure complete trust in the devices and data being used. Our KSaaS cloud service and KeyScaler platform has already been recognised as the ‘Rising Azure Technology’ in Microsoft’s Partner of The Year Awards and by analysts who have identified Device Authority as the technological leader in its field. We are delighted that Prelude has joined our recent financing with Ten Eleven Ventures to also support our ongoing growth journey as we continue to advance our solution and grow our presence in North America.”
Davis Warnock from Mercato Partners: Prelude added, “We have been familiar with the Device Authority product and team for quite some time, and we are thrilled about the opportunity to invest in their future growth. In our view, this company stands out as the preeminent leader in Identity and Access Management for enterprise IoT.”
Mercato Partners’ investment comes just weeks after Ten Eleven Ventures’ $7m investment in Device Authority and the appointment of three new board directors; industry luminary and serial cyber CEO and investor Timothy Eades, who is joining as Chair of the Board; Dave Palmer, General Partner of Ten Eleven Ventures and co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Darktrace; and Grace Cassy, co-founder of cybersecurity investment firm CyLon Ventures and former foreign policy advisor to UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Wyld Networks announce that IMEA have commenced the deployment of Wyld Connect Terminals in Brazil
TUE, FEB 20, 2024 08:30 CETReport this content
IMAE, a company in Brazil, have begun deployment of Wyld Connect terminals. Wyld Network’s satellite and terrestrial IoT solution collects data from IoT sensors in IMAE wind turbines to improve and optimize the management of wind power assets.
Brazil is the largest producer of wind energy in South America adding approximately 1.8GW of wind generation per annum. IMAE produce next generation wind turbines and are deploying Wyld’s IoT sensor-to-satellite solution with their solution in locations where there is no terrestrial connectivity. This data is delivered via Wyld’ Networks’ network management platform, Wyld Fusion, and then delivered to IMAE’s data analysis solution.
Wyld Networks are now deploying their suite of modules, modems and terminals across the world, connecting the Internet of Things via low earth orbiting satellites and bringing data from remote locations directly to end user apps.
“We are excited to continue support for IMAE in their mission to provide innovative monitoring solutions for wind energy installations in Brazil,” said Alastair Williamson, CEO of Wyld Networks. “Advancing this order into the deployment phase is a significant milestone, demonstrating progress and alignment with our objectives of fostering growth and boosting revenues.”
