Tricky re your…I think Microsoft was investigated in the past but it just gave an advantage to some of the other big players.
The difference here is that this antitrust scrutiny is about looking at the practices of these ‘big players’ (overall) and how their behaviour harms competition. Smaller players should benefit. Bmac
'A level playing field' - it's a bit like 'whack-a-mole', knock one down and up pops another.
I think Microsoft was investigated in the past but it just gave an advantage to some of the other big players.
Bmac,
"Lets have a level playing field"
agree, with FTC overseeing antitrust and the FBI investigating Ad Tech fraud, it all should help towards a fairer and cleaner ad tech eco system...

A wave of antitrust probe headlines on Facebook Inc. and Google parent Alphabet Inc. just yanked about $137 billion from FANG stocks’ market values.
The Federal Trade Commission will oversee antitrust scrutiny into whether the firm’s practices harm competition in the digital market….
Lets have a level playing field….roll on. Bmac

stt1 cannot bear to read anything positive:
Most of his posts are either an immediate knee-jerk mashing together of lots of statements (presented in block- form, looking like a frantic mad-cap telegram) about management changes in R1 historically (in no particular order) - repeated half a dozen times for good measure.
Or, headline statements are liberally peppered about on the (purported) dire effects of GDPR or some Russian methbot scam or consolidation or DSP's and SSP's not working together or 'In-house' trends plus any other negative and irrelevant news he can latch on to.
Laughable and it reminds me of some comedic ballet where the moves of the players don't quite match up and they are left suspended mid-flight, wondering what move to make next.
stt1 , Approaching the 25,000 post mark and some bloke called Jinky bringing attention to his posts.
You are deluded and you know it.
If you care , report his poison and get it removed as he is breaking every rule laid down by LSE .
You know all this of course.
Boring , tear glass eye , stuff.
Discussion is pretty pointless until June 13th
I have heard it all now - a fickle wasp complaining about the quality of the flavour of the jam.
oil,
"If we had jam - plenty of jam - then the wasp would 'probably' go away. "
But that's the problem, there's been plenty of jam but lacking flavour after the jar has been opened...
Tricky, I'm not sure if the wasp analogy works. If we had jam - plenty of jam - then the wasp would 'probably' go away. Indeed if we had the jam we wouldn't care about the wasp (other than to laugh at it) because we'd be too busy enjoying our jam.
The annoyance isn't the 'wasp', it's the lack of jam IMO. Without any jam the buzzing of the wasp is really annoying because it's constantly reminding us about the lack of jam.
I suppose now we have to discuss what flavour of jam people would like??!!
Malvolio,
You make it sound like an angry invasive 'naysayer' wasp is upset because it can't find the jam and wants to know why it's not being made.
That we should be annoyed about the company not making enough jam, rather than getting irritated by the annoying wasp.
Less than two weeks to address the company then, perhaps the wasp too has a list of items it could compile to ask questions of all the companies now within TAP?
Brita,
"Ofer Druker mentions building accompany to compete with facebook and google is this a realistic ambition"
It's an ambition a lot of ad tech companies have.. What about Amazon? - read these articles about Sizmek/Amazon...
Sizmek owned the biggest 3rd party ad server alternative to Google...
Now Amazon has bought the ad server to take on Google...
The Sizmek Saga Underscores Ad Tech’s Flaws And Market Weaknesses
"Sizmek is one of the biggest third-party ad-server alternatives to Google. And ad serving is the lifeblood of ad tech."
https://adexchanger.com/data-driven-thinking/the-sizmek-saga-underscores-ad-techs-flaws-and-market-weaknesses/
AMAZON:
Now Amazon have bought the Sizmek ad server business
"The deal would give Amazon the second-largest ad server footprint, trailing Google, and has important implications for Amazon’s advertising ambitions and the prospects for the independent ad tech ecosystem."
Amazon vs. Google heats up
Having an ad server will pit Amazon and Google in even fiercer competition.
Not only will the two titans compete directly for ad server business, but Amazon is also working on a cloud-based product, similar to Google’s Ads Data Hub (ADH), where marketers can target or measure with Amazon’s user-level data without the data leaving the platform, according to two sources that have discussed the idea with Amazon.

"Just at the point that RTHM was due to shift from EBITDA into actual profit (according to forecasts) then they sell out to TAP...who then tell us that RTHM numbers were below expectations. Constant jam.."
Good post...
As I've said on many occassions IF rthm, now TAP, backup their bullish comments with solid results and believable outlook then the sp will take care of itself...
Now rthm have merged with TAP, if TAP publish rthm fy2019 (Mar 2019) results and show why the results are below expectations then it'll provide some clarity going forward...
Without that clarity, there's always going to be questions over what went wrong with rthm, pre-TAP merger...
Isn't the anger & annoyance misdirected somewhat. Surely people should be annoyed by the constant 'jam tomorrow' message of RTHM. Just at the point that RTHM was due to shift from EBITDA into actual profit (according to forecasts) then they sell out to TAP...who then tell us that RTHM numbers were below expectations. Constant jam...there comes a time when being told that the jam is in the post but it never arrives, can become a little tiring.
Surely it's not about some insignificant poster says, it's whether RTHM and now TAP actually deliver in their results. If TAP start producing solid results then naysayers will become less annoying IMO. Come on TA, tell us that the jam is in the post, next day recorded delivery!!

The tie-up between Taptica and Rhythmone is said to have been precipitated by a need to focus firepower on the likes of Google and Facebook which have established themselves as the firms to beat in the fast-growing video ad market.

You are talking stt1h and you know it.
Why should that little sttih be allowed on here spreading his poison ?
Contact Admin and check how many times I have reported him resulting in both his posts and your friend removed , unfortunately not for long enough.
Shaggy I think that you know the above is true. Why would that be ? Not the first time you have come to his defence.
He is the complete scoundrel and as stated by other posters should be challenged at every opportunity.
How stupid to think that anyone needs to draw attention to his posts.
Why do you feel the need to keep whining about being 85% down.
Someone doesn't like stt1 being called out , who is it and why.
Just listened to the investor presentation 2019 again Ofer Druker mentions building accompany to compete with facebook and google is this a realistic ambition? Being a non techie I hope it is, all opinions welcome.
Eddie21,
I couldn't agree more, it is the unknown effect on others, new to the game, that concerns me most too.
The cynical 'old so and so' running around stressing always the negatives, well you really have to ask what his motives are.
I am not impressed with his game, it stinks and has to be challenged.
This message has been filtered, please adjust your filters to view peace at last........
Tricky-
You have taken the words right out of my mouth there! Can’t agree more with your comments regarding our resident “Negativity Spinner” and the wisdom of why he needs to be confronted.
I would however also like to add a note to pervious comments by Shaggy and yourself regarding the irrelevance of what posters say on BBs to the SP movements.
I fully agree that the longer- term trajectory of an SP movement will ultimately be determined by results, news and quality of communication by the company. However, SOME people ARE influenced by what they read REGUARDLESS of any independent research.
People like Stt1 post IN ORDER TO INFLUENCE !! they are not posting to influence and/or change the views of long-term investors like me and you. Their TARGET audience is the many other potential investors that never post and yet they read these BBs. I bet for every one poster here there is a very significant number of others (silent majority) that we never will hear from and yet they READ posts.
The key question is HOW marginal or influential posts on BBs are and to what degree they may determine the trading decision of certain individuals.
The answer is that we just don’t know, but I personally would NOT dismiss the effect of such posts completely out of hand.
A good weekend to all
Eddie
Long-term investors know full well that stt1 gets immense pleasure out of obsessively posting on the potential pit-falls in the ever-changing world of ad tech, relevant or otherwise.
This is all very tiresome as a lot is pure speculation/conjecture designed to rock the boat, copied and pasted from journalistic stories, seeking to grab headlines.
Weaving fact and fiction and presenting snippets on here as worrying developments, red flags; without any balanced views or deeper understanding of the manner in which ad tech continues to develop, we end up baffled as to why an individual should be so very persistently negative. Indeed what psychology could be at the back of constant attacks and 'rubbing salt in the wounds' of others who may have an investment which is currently languishing
I see that as a form of bullying, from a selfish, hypocritical individual, who has made their own (rather numerous) mistakes and now wants to ensure that others feel pain and doom and gloom also.
Plus, I dislike the attacks on every level, aimed at management, accounts, suggested fraud and condemnation of future business potential of Taptica.
I can, of course, just filter the individual but he/she/it really must be challenged and not allowed to present misinformation dressed up as hard fact.
Therein lies the rub.
read not ead, wish there was a spell check.
If everybody, filtered stt1, his, her, its post would be totally irrelevant as no one would be able to ead them.
I implore all genuine tap ( EX RTHM AND BLINKY holders ) to do likewise. It will never most anything positive, and the more people ignore him, the quicker he ? or she will get bored. By constantly debating, Like Dr Shaggy says it just puts his or her posts in the spotlight.
It is very easy to do and makes for a much more tranquil life, until his . her agenda is served and he or she leaves us for good. I pray for that day.
Tricky - I referred to 'some' people, not all. Those who present information to counter stt1 assertions (like you and BMac and GW) are clearly not in concert with him.
But others are IMO.
Look at the posts over the last couple of months where supposedly 'new' investors have turned up to express 'concerns' on an almost daily basis about short term price movements and suspicious sells/buys.Or turning up and asserting that stt1 is just a concerned investor. I won't name names but you must have read them over the past couple of months.
JinkyJ - you are the one who constantly draws attention to his posts on a daily basis, are all the time saying that you're reporting or have reported him to the BB admin (apparently never to any effect) and have NEVER ONCE commented about anything to do with the company.
You're more boring even than he is
I've told you constantly that I'm 85% down because that's what I am.
If you go back over my posts from the last 5 years you'll see that I'm consistent in what I've said.
If you really want to make stt1 irrelevant, then stop going on and on and on and on and on and on and about him.
Because that's what you do.
And I think you are doing it deliberately to draw attention to his posts.
All IMHO of course. Have a nice weekend.
As far as I'm concerned you're helping him by constntly drawing attention to his post while procaliworking in cencert with him
