re the last posting has the date for teh IPO been announced? I imagine that we will be seeing a serious tick up if so and well into the 80's. this could be one smile amidst a sea of red!
Finaly its there.............SMITH I.P.O . its comming........how this efect the sp remains to be seen,HOWEVER, today starts very positive..bring it on.GLA..........
I know it is a small one but the SP did jump 2p from 50p - 52p during the last afternoon- maybe a sign of a recovery this week ahead
Hi, I note your usual cryptic comments of doom. Go on, how bad is it this time ?
Obviously seen whats happening here.
Not quite 70p as predicted. However, disappointed as I am with this drop, I take some comfort in the knowledge that this drop is not down to the company but rather the market. Pity my stop loss activated at 62.1 and then my rising buy activated at 63.8, talk about double whip-sawing.
Still happy. Lets see 70p by Friday please . Based on earlier jumps, this will move by 12p-15p on an IPO announcement / rumour /hunch
High conviction in Tanfield Electric vehicle manufacturer Tanfield (TAN.L) is the top holding in both portfolios, making up 7% of the Beacon and 8.4% of the Special Situations fund. Its shares tumbled 80% in 2008 after major profit warnings due to slower sales, prompting an investigation by the London Stock Exchange’s regulatory team. Noble-Nesbitt bought the shares in stages, starting in August 2010 at an average price of 14p when he was convinced by the company’s potential in the electric vehicle market. He says: ‘The electrical vehicles business was trying to break into the US and came under pressure trading wise with profit warnings and needed to raise money. A lot of the big holders just sold out completely in rage and I just thought that created an interesting opportunity.’
Large volume of trades today. IPO news imminent. Interesting day tomorrow that's for sure.
Bit more volatility creeping in but the afternoon price jump is interesting. Hopefully we should hold this gain tomorrow or add my old favourite, another .25.
Very pleased that the SP is moving up albeit very slowly. This was a very active board a year or so ago but now things are going well there are very few comments. The AGM is happening shortly so hope this creates a bit of interest.
I quite agree. 70p by the end of next week
What do you call someone who talks to themselves on a chat board ? Anyway, a nice rise today. Lets hope it pushes on to 70p now
At least we are on the week, albeit slightly. 63.12 to 64.50, The Newton order from Frito is good. 100 trucks at $120k a throw is nice
100 more trucks about to be purchased by Frito Lay. "On certain drive cycles the electrics work extremely well,” Mr. O’Connell said. “We’re currently finalizing the purchase of 100 additional 24-foot electric box trucks from Smith Electric. And we’re testing trucks from Electric Vehicles International.”"http://www.cdllife.com/2012/technology/frito-lay-fleet-adds-natural-gas-powered-trucks/
Red finish today..............how strange.........
That's better, .25 see ? 66p by the end of the week
I agree Eastern - lets hope the day traders don't notice this! The only thing they bring to the table is volatility. ALK is ticking along very nicely although the European construction outlook is poor. A new base at 70+ before any SEVUS valuation comes through would be great.
In german they say "langzam langzam,abazisher"............slowly,slowly but surely!!!
Call me grumpy but a quick rise also means a quick fall. I was happy with .25 per day with no interest from day traders.
You probably ment 65.25 by the end of today, didnt you????...............this slow rise is good shaw of confidence here, and the biger jump will come when the SEV IPO will be confirmed.............GLA.......
Yup 65.25 by the end of the week
