Too much debt here, overvalued company, 80p coming soon!!!
value of company is £1.1 billion, the share equity is only £212m; profit guidance and dividends are falling ...
This is a dog share at the moment, better oportunities to invest in this depressed market with profit making companies with little or no debt!
Well made my purchase just before the bell. Just juggling my portfolio for income over the next 5yrs or so with potential of capital growth. Reckon Talk Talk will achieve decent income and some capital growth. Also now looking at Vodafone as well. Sub £1 looks a decent entry point possibly over valued but the market is very strange so who knows time will tell. Will add on further weakness to average down if need be but can't see any lower than 80p.
I've always done ok with TALK TALK, might have bought slightly too early on a couple of occasions last year but it always paid off, Looks alright to me:-
‘We continue to see strong trading momentum in the business, with customer growth ahead of expectations,’ TalkTalk CEO Tristia Harrison said. ‘Q3 was the eighth consecutive quarter of rising customer numbers and we saw record demand for fibre.’
‘The change to earnings guidance is due to IFRS 15 timing adjustments and investment in growth. Year on year, we have increased revenue by growing the base and stabilising ARPU, which combined with lower costs is driving improved earnings,’ she added.
TalkTalk results: key figures
Despite investors disappointment in the recent trading update, TalkTalk’s customer base has grown by more than 44,000, up from 37,000 compared with the same period a year ago, with double-digit growth seen in both its consumer and B2B – bringing its total customers base to more than 4.2 million.
The telecoms provider has also seen its total revenues increase 2.9% to £386 million, helped by a strong uptake in superfast fibre with an additional 146,000 subscribers joining its service in Q3.
TalkTalk’s share price takes a tumble
The FTSE 250 tumbled more than 8% after downgrading its full year earnings expectations on Friday, with TalkTalk’s adjusting its forecast from around £259 million to a range between £245 - £250 million.
However, despite the profit warning its CEO contends that that ‘underlying business is on track’ and that its investment into customer acquisition and the company’s reorganisation will help the company deliver strong earnings growth in 2020.
Well SP been hammered this week down 9.75p totally oversold
It's been down three weeks in a row 96.55p last week 106.30p week before 114.60p week before 116.70p.
I can't see it dropping next week think SP will turn around now All Telecommunications stocks have been hammered and Talk talk has fallen down to levels like Vod and Bt all cheap now take your pick,
I am in all three but talk talk is my favourite, as its made me the most money
80p Dream on lol it's put a smile on my face tho after a few bad days thanks I feel much better now.
80p or lower in next month, realisation that the company is taking contracts on that are loss making, current customers not accepting price rises. Whole of teles under pressure. Cheerio invest I.
I'd certainly take some under a pound as I've seen this jump up nicely from similar levels in the past, still not sure about the favour of telecoms sector at the minute though. One share I'm in that was at a similar level to this very recently is saga...hardly the most dynamic share but the chart looks to be on the up again, with the fall back of it paying a good divi if it tanks!
I actually went back for a second helping and got a slightly better price at 100.36. if in the very unlikely event, this drops under a pound again, I'll be topping up big time😀
Well does look you got in at a good starting price, and I do expect this will recover as its normally a reliable trade for me too.
Totally agree CXS1, I bought £6k for 100.77 this morning, but quite prepared to pile in if it goes much much lower.
Been tempted myself, but a bit wary of fickle drop then pause then drop again market reactions I've seen recently to misses such as this, not least after the recent fun and games with VOD.
buy opportunity here, at 16p below Charles Dunstone, even he may be tempted to top up
Broadband operator TalkTalk has said its full-year core income will fall short of analysts' expectations and its own previous guidance, by between £10m and £15m.
Analysts had predicted core earnings of £259m but TalkTalk says that figure will now be between £245m and £250m.
A spokesman for TalkTalk said it is due to changes in how the firm reports revenue from connection fees as well as investment in its network.
In a trading update, the company said it had added 44,000 customers in its third quarter, taking its total to 4.2 million.
It seems some joker at TT HQ thinks their TV product matches the likes of Sky and Virgin and had a clever idea of trying to charge £4 extra to access talktalk TV, which many people would pay a little bit more than that for a few channels, however no HD on 'sky' channels. It seems like TT can't keep up with the number of cancellations, I hear the TV service is mainly free view with a few added extras so after the budget market. I wonder if this price increase will back fire on the probably smallish revenue they seem to get from TV, gotta be brave to buy this one, going short for me.
Infact lookin at the 3 month chart - its at the bottom of an EW5 on that as well...
No-one has anything positive to say about this company - with justification. 5 year chart shows a wide trading range but I think it's also formed a bowl over that period. It certainly appears to have flat lined out of the last downward channel fo the third time so EW5 done ? If so, this is at the bottom of that bowl at the bottom of the trading range now and sentiment is bad for the company, market sector, and eneral economy - but markets are volatile - it has assets with value - and this is a possible time to take up trading it and letting the profits run on - JMHO - I think I''ll give it a go
Looking better today
It's widespread, not just here, I've topped up at 109
What is going on?why the sudden drop.
I see the chairman has purchased more shares taking him up to just over 28% of the company.
love to see a 126/7p today and ill jump ship!!
...and that a penny/share
