Picstloup - that’s why I am hoping that we can get some answers through ShareSoc because I did have faith in CF and that’s why I was as I was on here. I want to know whether it really was a case of outside climate (Brexit, hung parliaments, Trump, China etc) combined with it all got too big for him plus genuine bad decisions resulted in where we are today - all not great but the risk you take when you invest.
Or whether I misjudged him and he wasn’t the man I thought he was and there was more to it - I hope not
I don’t see that as SH it’s so wrong to ask some questions when we’re faced with what we are.

Did me very well as I got in when the short attack drove it down to 330 and the through it's volatile fluctuations I did well trading it .
then the takeover offer and everyone was convinced a bidding war would result in it being sold for ten or more ???
Never happened which is why I don't hold out for that here ! Went for 590-600 in the end I think ?
But I still hope (all be it slim) that funding can still save us !

Got it in one.

Wasn't paysafe was it ?
I have been in a similar position to this before - although the circumstances were very different.
In this case the company was doing exceptionally well but there was a disinformation campaign that crashed the SP followed by a period of volatility and the end result of that was that the company was taken private with all the Directors keeping their jobs. There was only one the one bid, it gave shareholders a reasonable premium but the company was on the verge of a massive rise in revenue and the SP had been held back.
The end result of all this was that absolutely nothing happened because as soon as the company went private it was a fait accompli and everyone moved on - lesson learned.
picstloup
Your reference to me as " pisding in the wind" and "no you poor little man" may ring true to you ?
But whilst I'm still holding here I will continue a " until it's over ? it's not over?
My "clutching at straws" attitude may reduce you to comments like that but I'm not to sure that I would still hold if I had your " there is no hope " attitude !!!
each to their own" I " shall agree to disagree
Regards
ffc
PS
I don't know if and when this is facing administration if I WILL vote no ? but then again I still think that a no vote may not end with the holes being filled in ....
Argue all you like ? the fundamentals are still there !!!
picstloup ,Does my refusal to give up quite yet offend you ? - asks ffcmember
_
Not offended in the least. I just feel slightly sorry for you and your blind belief that ShareSoc can pull some sort of rabbit out of this mess for you. What do you expect to gain in the very unlikely event that there is a "no" majority? As SS itself bluntly and accurately says "However, just because a large number of people have suffered a painful loss does not mean that they will be compensated. That is not how the stock market works. "
I sold about a third of my holding but remain with the rest in the (referring) hope that another bid is possible. If I thought a no vote was likely I'd sell the rest immediately as that would result in 0p, whatever the deluded dampers might think.
We made a bad investment decision and have lost our money. It wasn't a conspiracy and we weren't investing under false pretences or duress, it's just that Sirius wasn't quite up to the task of finishing the job and had to call in the grown ups.
Fraser did quite a good job under difficult circumstances. The people who are libellously vilifying him here now are often the same as the naive rampers and the ones who treated him as a local hero, as ffcmember wrote not that long ago:
"Also many of the people on here that I the utmost respect for, have met the man and regularly vouch for his integrity and that means everything to me....."
If everyone who stands to lose ££ votes no it will make it harder for them to shaft us. I for one will be holding and voting NO !!
Fred well said as always ,
I'm not stupid ,this does look like an uphill battle but I for one Have to keep hoping when It would feel so wrong to give up when there is a glimmer of hope !
What has happened here feels so wrong and unjust and to so many that maybe just maybe ?
Good on you for holding on too , I honestly believe everyone will still have due warning should they feel it's time to sell ? IMO
ffc
It hasn’t been easy being positive in the last year with Sirius - but you can’t pretend not to believe someone or something if you just do even though others might be saying different. You just have to go with what you think - sometimes you’re right snd sometimes you’re wrong. Obviously now looking back there were warning signs -but that was not the message coming from the company to its SH’s - we were still getting positive updates and conference calls with a specific plan. Wish I’d seen what others saw but I didn’t. So now that’s the reason why so many of us want answers. It certainly feels better than doing nothing and I want to hear some answers from the people that I chose to listen to over and above others, but at the end of the day they were supposed to be the ones that knew exactly was going on. How far we’ll get we’ll see but there’s an increasing number now and I’m sure whatever happens we’ll feel better that we’ve stood up to the people that at the moment looks like they may have let us down.
picstloup ,Does my refusal to give up quite yet offend you ?
" no you poor little man" ?
you claim to still hold here yet that sentence suggests we may have a different agenda ???
Best of luck with your investments
ffc
That my friend is absolute B@@l@cks
These people are no ordinary Shareholder picstloup these are devoted Sirius Minerals shareholders many of whom are local and have not just money at stake here !!!
Don't underestimate them !
I hold my shares through hl but all platforms make it very easy to cast your vote But I'm sure you know that !
ShareSoc are at least honest in admitting that "choices facing shareholders at this stage are limited, and the SSSG can make no promises that its activities will improve or expand those choices". Also that 90% of the private investors hold their shares in nominee accounts, very few of whom ever bother to vote, so ffcmember is pisding into the wind when he says 'we have a huge chance of effecting [sic] the outcome here ? don't you think !!!" No, you poor little man, 5.5p is the most you'll get.
WOW the more I think about that !
We may really have more power here than we thought ?
Hold onto hem shares guys , wait for more information , see how long before the vote to decide .
AND THEN you can cash in ? vote yes? or vote NO ?
ffc
Sharesoc have also suggested that maybe 50% of shares are held by Private investors ?
IMO that says we have a huge chance of effecting the outcome here ? don't you think !!!

Ffc, twas me that told em I might buy into AAL if they get through the risky aquifer. Someone followed up saying they’re through it already. The SBM is still in bits as far as I know. May be a bit of unrest over on the dark side.;-)
Good Chesh innit. SBR still in bits and through the aquifer....that’s a bigger ramp than I have fo’t wifes wheelchair. ;-)
Are you chris Fraser trying to save his hide ;)
Idiot
Wasn't it around mid December that Graham Clarke and Simon Carter stopped being an the board or at least their titals changed ????

Hi Chesh
It was really quick when I signed up but I think they have been overwhelmed so it's taking a bit longer .
You could try mailing them , not as easy to navigate as it should be but there is a facility to leave a message ,
ffc
"as far as I know they are already through the aquifer. for what its worth I've just bought in, first tranche with AA.".............
fun to re-post ffc............. :)
"That's BS imo"............. you know it is, I know it is........... the poster covers well with "as far as I know "........... :)
All the best (I was just checking in, and over there, no email back yet :)
Personally I am hoping that when they do give a date for the vote they will need to produce far more information than we have so far ?
And whilst I expect them to maybe hold a few alternatives back ? I would have thought legally they would not lie to us either ?
I'm waiting that's for sure
ffc
BuckJones
Or you could just wait a while and see if you could make a more educated decision when you have more Facts ?
We haven't even got a date for the vote yet ffs
IMO obviously
