STV Group plc voted Large PLC of the Year in Scottish Corporate Awards_______________________________ STV has been recognised as the Large PLC of the Year at the Scottish Corporate Awards, sponsored by Business Insider and Barclays Bank. STV was shortlisted for consideration for the award by a judging panel of business leaders who were supported in undertaking their research by the University of Strathclyde Business School. The judging panel recognised the improved financial performance, strengthened balance sheet and resultant increase in the market value of the company. Rob Woodward, Chief Executive Officer said: "STV is delighted to receive this prestigious award in the week that our Board confirmed the Group's intention to re-instate dividend payments and we announced our latest trading outlook in which we forecast that our performance remains on track in 2014".
Odey Absolute Return Fund has a position of 10.73%. ___Odey European Inc. has a position of 3.74%.
Holding Nicely !
recommended today too, by me, now lol
Following the announcement on 6 March of STV Group plc's full year results, STV can confirm the dividend of 2.0p per ordinary share will, if approved by shareholders at the AGM being held on 23 April 2014, be paid on 23 May to shareholders on the register at 22 April. ( 07/03/14 )
recommended today by Edison I think.
Not a massive amount of trades today, but this is never that busy as the spread suggests. However, a nice steady increase on the day.
Cheers! Good points made. Regarding the Notice of Results I did notice the date in the 11/2 Notice, but last year they published a Notice of Results prior to the Finals, the Market does get used to a pattern avoiding unnecessary research and wasting time. However, all is well that ends well.
Top top company...incredible rise.
Thank you Chan. These are decent numbers and especially pleasing is the debt reduction achieved in H2 and the ratchet down of their target debt/EBITDA to 1.5x from 2x. The dividend, being ahead of schedule [1.5p intimated at the interims], while only a nominal yield, is also positive. With good forward guidance from the ITV behemoth and hopefully UTV confirming the overall 'health' of Channel 3 when they report in a couple of weeks, 2014 should be a solid year. Next stop for STV will be cancelling the share premium and merger reserves to remove that hideous P&L balance which is a testament to how badly STV was run prior to the peerless Rob Woodward joining - they blew a third of a billion pounds on rubbish. Also of note is the elimination of the pension deficit and with renewal of the licence and extension of the debt profile, really STV have completed their de-risking of the business [other things being equal of course!] The question for the market is what rating.......ITV are on a forward P/E of 16. STV should trade at a discount but 12x would give a price close to the Numis target so maybe that has merit. In fairness to STV they alerted shareholders to the results in their 11/2 RNS about the licence so we shouldn't berate them too much
I am however dissapointed that there was no prior Notice of Results giving the date of publishing of today's Results.
6 March 2014 BBC One has commissioned 25 episodes of innovative new quiz show The Link from STV Productions, in association with LTV, for a daytime slot. The brand new quiz show will be presented by actor Mark Williams (Father Brown, Blandings and the Harry Potter franchise).
Athough late, the Results are good. The MM's have upped the SP and currently 354p to buy. So, a good move Keeptrust.
This seems a good company and hopefully the results will be decent this week. The comments here seem positive too and I have bought 6000 shares
Numis Retains BUY with Target of 436.00p 26 February 2014 ( Should be Results soon )
This time last year the Results were published, we haven't as yet received Notice of __ for a date. Here's hoping all is well.
another big delayed buy on my watch list this
Ameriprise Financial, Inc. and its group for Littledown Nominees.
Excellent company here guys....financials very good....finals should be interesting too.
All this news can only be a good thing for the sp! I saw the sharp rise this morning; now it makes sense!
