Done some googling and this is what it is https://conversation.which.co.uk/money/telephone-share-buying-phone-scam-investment/
Just been called by someone from Woodbridge Consultancy? saying they are acting for a potential buyer who will be offering Private Investors £8- £17 a share to get the 7% of shares they need to get over the 50% line.
Still selling india….not much left will have to find a new way to make some cash.
SLA emailed back to say DRIP shares should be allocated today.
Hopefully things will improve in the future.
Thanks for this. I was also beginning to wonder when my share holding would increase to reflect DRIP. I agree that it has always appeared slow but seems additionally so this time.
Hi again, just noticed this and may cause delays in notification.
Standard Life Aberdeen is changing share registrar from Link Group, to Equiniti Group (EQ) from 26 July so we're now unable to accept any new dividend reinvestment plan (DRIP) applications. Within a few weeks of moving you will be sent a welcome pack from EQ with their contact details and more information about the services they offer. Please contact EQ from 26 July if you would like to join the DRIP - provided by EQ.

Hi,
I too have DRIP since floatation, and they are very very slow to my experience in sending the shares (I hold in certificate) and to yesterday the on-line portal showed no addition to my holding. The web-site says 2 to 3 weeks before you receive them. Not sure if I read it correctly but they I think they said the 17th June when you will know on-line.
They have always been slow, my RDSB DRIP shares certificates arrive 2 to 3 days after payment date.

I have been receiving extra shares under the DRIP scheme since the original floatation.
I noticed no new shares were added to my account but the payment shows as "held for future investment".
Waiting to hear back from SLA but I'm interested to know if anyone else as not received the DRIP shares or has any information regarding this.
SLA PLC...unfortunately too close to SLAP and much fun for headlines.
ABRDN...shorthand for A burden?
whatever, it takes the national character out.
Still think it's stupid...as before, it was those wonderful people who gave us the London Olympics logo who came up with this.
Maybe ABRDN was chosen for their new upcoming Chinese and the Far East customers if that is where the real growth is emerging and with fewer attachments to cyclical names.
Perhaps SLA Plc on even straight Aberdeen Plc would be better easy too remember new names
Performance of This share has proved to be one of the best forgotten in my portfolio and with this new name it will be totally FORGOTTEN. (TIP: Best way to remember is Aberdeen without the all important three ‘e’ vowels)
The marketing expert who thought this one up must be an intellectual midget, hope it wasn’t the new CEO!
Thank you coaster for your post. I too was scratching my head after 4thtiger's post. There may well be some relevance to this post but I have to admit it is lost on me. Let's hope your request for an explanation provides some answers. 4thtiger, over to you please!
Please explain the relevance for the SLA SP.
Unless you believe tracker funds/shorters have been selling SLA particularly.
One for you all as very interesting and explosive upside imo.
FRES is being removed from the MSCI index today and because of that tracker funds have been selling for weeks. Because that's ending the selling pressure is finally coming off today. So despite the strong move up in gold and silver it's been held back essentially, the selling pressure has been immense from these trackers. In addition, a shorting institution called Millennium who have a dismal record in the shorts space tried to short with a 7m shares short position but are already feeling some heat as they got their timing totally wrong. They basically went short at the end of the msci period rather than the beginning! Anyway, what with FRES being not in alignment with the likes of POLY (which has re-rated hard), the msci tracker ending today, and Millenium now under pressure to reverse that big short there should be a real big squeeze, fireworks shortly.
SLA is turning the tide and will be back to £3 very soon.
believe it was the same bright sparks company that designed UK olympics logo...memorable for all the wrong reasons.
Should have got input from the shareholders and employees regarding the name change. I feel this is another Royal mail Consignia moment . Hey what do I know being a thick Taxi Driver
@Rodgetrades thanks for the info, i'd missed that bit somewhere along the line
to avg down yesterday, i was suspecting there may be an early dip today affording me a better price.... got that one wrong !

I think we all have to calm down and give SB and the BOD a chance to see despite stupid names change is whether the new all in one product and update will provide the required shot in the arm for the company to move forward
It will take time but we need to give the company the benefit of doubt and see where we will be in 18-24 months time
I have been following the mixture of comments over the last few weeks about the name change with interest. "Abrdn" is a complete joke and I agree with taffyman. I would like to think that the BoD, and Stephen Bird in particular, acknowledged that they have got this wrong, swallow their respective egotistical prides and simply call themselves "Standard Life" . Everyone, person on the street, Investors, have heard of Standard Life. Even in 10 years time if "Abrdn" is still being used, people will say, "Who are they?" People have to feel comfortable about a name and "Abrdn" just doesn't cut it.
Shows a lack of imagination .... always a worry when the best a company can do is change its name ... one step worse than share buybacks when prices are high.
Bailed SLA last year after making a few quid .... loss of Lloyds contract was always going to hit SLA going forwards.
