pulled back to 50ma and support level - does it now continue the move up. Time will tell.
This is one beaten down oil stock which should be re-rated. The current price does not reflect it's actual value.
Let's hope so. We are expecting some drilling news I believe.
:-)
Totally agree with your comments.
It’s almost like the company wants to remain invisible to the markets.
Their communication is very poor.
They have a twitter account that was only used last week for the first time in months.
They need to up their game.
Liquidity is a prime concern for institutional investors considering any stock market investment. And much of that liquidity for small to mid-sized companies is provided by small investors. As I write, UKOG with a market cap of around £56 million has been traded 32 times with a turnover of about £61,000 while Soco with a market cap of about £245 million has been traded just 8 times with a value of around £14,000. Sure, we know that other less conspicuous trading occurs. But viewed crudely, Soco is not a very liquid stock. And yet, the company pays a generous dividend. It has genuine development upside and it's not a “Story stock”.
Maybe there are legacy issues with its involvement with exploration at a national park in the DRC. But that was many years ago and the company needs to move on and explain what it plans to do. Just being clear about what it intends to do and when would be a big help in creating more interest and, therefore, more liquidity.
I know Soco like to play things low key but this is ridiculous. Surely the spudding of a well on 16th July was key investor information and should have been published at the time via RNS? The market should know these things. So come on Soco let us have more details on the Egyptian operations. Just what are you planning to do, where and when? Plus can you let us know how long the current drill is likely to take and what the targets are? Basic stuff really. Let your long suffering shareholders have a bit of information to keep us interested. I don't want this board to get full of rubbish posters like so many others on here but there is a happy medium with updates. Come on board flesh the last RNS out a bit!!
Sitting on this one now
This is a great one for income Investors to tuck away just for the dividend on it's own. However there is great potential for a lift in the share price too as it is certainly undervalued according to it's peers. Current valuation, without any uplift from Egypt or Israel, is 89p so happy to just tuck these away for the rise.
The stock is traded very lightly so any news will, I am sure, have a significant affect on the price.
I bought back in yesterday and had trouble with constant NT on CS sub 64p... HL was Ok at the same time which was odd. Got filled in the end though... and opened up today. be nice if it did the same tomorrow,
Don't understand why. Must be going up
So I believe we have an upcoming drill in Egypt along with the bid for the blocks mentioned below. Could see some nice upside.
Nice find
JERUSALEM, July 15 (Reuters) - Israel said on Monday it had received bids from two groups of companies to explore for oil and gas off its Mediterranean coast, falling short of expectations for more robust interest from major energy firms in its latest auction.
Israel's energy ministry said the new activity will help position the country as a regional energy hub. But the results were not much of a rebound from a disappointing round two years earlier when, again, just two groups placed bids.
The first group in the current round was made up of British newcomers Cairn Energy, SOCO International and Israel's Ratio Oil. The second consortium included repeat bidders Energean and Israel Opportunity . Together they offered to take 12 of the 19 available blocks.
Israel discovered in 2009 that it had large reserves of natural gas in the eastern Mediterranean, turning it into an energy exporter from an importer, and has been hoping to attract oil and gas majors to operate in its waters.
Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz said in March that Brazil's Petrobras was expected to take part in the tender. Reuters reported that Exxon Mobil, in a major policy shift, was considering bidding in the auction.
Neither name was on the final list.
Instead, Israel has been relying on small and mid-size companies to develop its offshore wells. Texas-based Noble Energy is the operator of two large projects and Energean already has operations in Israel.
A date for a final decision was not given, but should the bidders be granted licences they will have three years to explore and, if conditions are met, could request up to a four-year extension.
The ministry said another bidding round was expected in 2021. (Reporting by Ari Rabinovitch; Editing by Steven Scheer and David Evans)
Scratch that I have no idea
My guess is that it means a share that he thinks is a good buy but just best guess
???
Sia shares are valued at 259 mil but has 100 mil in the bank .last year it had 160mil in the bank so drop of 60 mil but they bought the Egypt assets so the Vietnam assets and Egypt assets together are being valued 150 mil but I think the Vietnam assets assets are worth 200 mil so no value is being added for Egypt and Vietnam assets are being undervalued .
Cup of Tea with two sugars. Suggest you take a look at PHD as well
What does it mean ?
For those that believe.
I notice from the presentation that we should commence drilling shortly in Egypt. Maybe add a bit of spice to the price
Yes the potential is definitely here but it's not on the radar of the buyers yet.
