Insulation - you’ve just embarrassed yourself . Check your timeline
Surely 2019 numbers were pre-Covid and that is why they are using them for comparison. 2019 was the last ‘normal’ year on which to try and compare performance. Any improvement on 2019 figures therefore has got to be seen as a positive given we are still impacted by Covid factors.
Oldguard - you're not genuinely claiming H2 2021 is a massive turnaround to 2019 when all the branches were shut/staff working from home? You can't on the one hand accept 2019 results as one of the worst ever because COVID then laud the turnaround in 2021 against 2019's numbers. That's silly.
Did a proper RNS come out yesterday?
Lol! Cornerstone of why the share price is so low and will remain so.
Mick you are a total muppet . The UK interiors business H2 /21 v 2019 is a huge turnaround, it’s the cornerstone of the good news …
So much for the good news. I'm afraid its just jam tomorrow again.
Just have to hold and wait.
I bet Kath Durrant a director is a bit miffed she bought 100,774 shares at 49.35 price now 45 and falling.
Wow that’s all very good news. !
Hoping for a good update in the morning to start this moving. We’ve been stagnating in the upper 40s / low 50s range for while now. I want to see some sign that this can be materially higher.
Big buys completed after close. Nice 450k went through
The Company will issue a full year trading update for the financial year ending 31 December 2021 on 11 January 2022, and will publish its full year results on 11 March 2022.
C D and R bring any relevant experience required.
Good morning Bucklerfern. Could you kindly add positive comments to the board please. What is your background in finance and what are your thoughts on SIG plc? Thank you.
Hi
Forums are very good to get a wide range of opinions from many individuals. The more information at hand he better we can all make our own investment ideas and decide on the best decision individualy.
In terms of SIG plc, it’s not a share to make quick money from (unless you purchased at the bottom to flip), it is a long term play, 9/12months from now. CD&R are eyeing this up and navigating the business to a better position. Any ideas and thoughts, both positive or negative are welcome. I myself am experienced in mergers and acquisitions so have knowledge in that particular field. Hope everyone had a great Xmas.
Somethings got to attract you back here
This has come as a bit of a shock - can some one post a link to the announcement that we have closed the roofing and exteriors business plus the the fit-out elements of the interiors other than insulation? Perhaps they'll RNS it in the morning :)
You’re right about the construction boom. It will be the biggest of all time and will last until 2026. However you’re very wrong about SIG. Insulation is a commodity and very low margin so the share price will not do well as there will be very low earnings at best.
Just topped up again. Bought over 55,000 shares this month.
See Kingspan and TP doing well today - what’s holding SIG back bit?
Just topped up again - bargain stock. The construction industry is about to see a big boom in material requirements (particularly insulation) following updated AD Part L
I hang around to counteract the daft confirmation bias that’s so prevalent on this bb.
Why do you hang around on this forum Mick? Is it just to fend everyone off to keep the price as low you can, or are you just some kind of investment angel?
I’m an expert in all the products they sell. Trust me, they are a low margin business and at best will make small profits going forwards.
You are not going to do well investing in such a business. It’s obvious and I can’t understand why people can’t see it.
There is nothing so strange as folk.
madmick, underlying Culpepper's question is the fact that Sig is supposed to be mid-way through a turnaround under new management - a management who are meant to be remedying the mistakes of the past including exiting the lowest margin products. Now I don't know if it's all true, but in that context it's pointless looking at the historic p/e - it's projected earnings and forward p/e that matters. Until we know better.
