BP you are better than this. It’s tyndrum, not Hollywood. Get the hard hats on and the pick axes out and get the gold. Not the glitter.
:)
It helps us because Musk and Zuckerberg are red hot property at the moment: everyone wants, metaphorically speaking, a piece of their action.
For better or worse that's how the power of celebrity works.
The idea of Scotgold donating a gold medal to the winner starts getting discussed on social media and watch the price fly.
If Scotgold actually does it and we get a "thanks guys" from either or both of the two protagonists and as I wrote earlier, it's stratospheric time as millions of people buy into the idea of owning a bit of Scotgold. Heck, we might even have enough capital to start Phase 2 which has been promised to us for years.
A gold medal to the winner goes back to ancient times and we can "just do it". A widget to the winner? Not so much. Unless you know of places where that's a thing.
If scotgold was selling manufactured widgets, its a great idea.
But it isn't.
It's a gold mining operation.
How does "advertising" increase the amount of gold mined at Cononish?
It doesn’t.
It's plain daft.
Almost as daft as someone paying £21,000 for one oz of Scottish gold, but that's another subject entirely.
No one is asking you to support anything.
Nowhere have I suggested that we look for Musk to definitively promote the company or anything like it. Are you being deliberately disingenuous?
Scotgold to donate a gold medal made of pure Scottish gold to the winner. That's it. Nothing else.
Social media will do what social media does and that should be phenomenal for Scotgold. That would suit me. How about you?
Hate to put a dampener on things, but I’m not comfortable supporting the premise that people should buy stock in a struggling company because two celebrities have a fight or mention it once. Seems a bit immoral. I would also hazard a guess that both those gentlemen are quite savvy about promoting or being seen to promote stock. Especially for the sake of a medal they definitely don’t need based on their net worth.
Can we get back to the job in the hand, and ask the board how much cash they have left before we ask them to ask musk to definitively promote us. Focus people focus 😞
Correct GZ.
Any number of companies will be looking to hitch their wagon in some way to the event and we literally have the gold medal on that front.
And if Twitter gets hold of something like: "Some @scotgoldresltd shareholders are apparently asking the company to donate a pure Scottish gold medal to the winner of the Musk v Zuckerberg fight" even that would cause a significant interest in the company and would surely affect the share price very positively. Just saying'. ;-)
If we go ahead and do it, and either or both of the two protagonists acknowledge the donation, we're talking stratospheric.
Scotgold - do not let fear of massive success hold us back on this. Thus far, you have lost well over 90% of the company's valuation.
Yes you are correct BP. If we don't get in on this we are missing a trick. Also at the mo you can get odds of 4to1 on Musk which I consider to be a bit of a bargain. Much like this stock which also has attracted some interest for some reason we don't know yet. 4 trades yesterday all sells. The 14636 was mine but believe me when I say I had to sell. It was not easy for me to do but I need to fill the bentley up
Yeah, I wonder.
It looks like recent gold rush has fizzled out.I wonder what/who caused it .
Add to the tweet a photo of one of the impressive Scotgold coins with the stag's head and antlers and BOOM!!!
Reasonable first draft here - it doesn't need much else. No layers of complexity to be added.
@ElonM @MarkZ
Gentlemen,
Greetings from Scotland, the home of the clansman warrior!
@ScotgoldResources will donate a unique Scotgold gold medal to the winner of your upcoming cage fight. The bespoke medal will be made from 100% pure Scottish gold, mined from the beautiful, rugged landscape of bonnie Scotland.
No strings attached - only a tartan ribbon (smiley) to hang the medal around the victor’s neck.
Good luck with your training and for the event itself.
BP.
The downside would perhaps be some poor punters buying into the business based on hype only to be left disappointed. I think it would be a fantastic idea to seek promotion if the business had a product worth buying. But otherwise, it's a pyramid scheme im afraid.
ATB
From a marketing perspective it's a sound idea.
But will it increase the amount of gold extracted from them thar hills?
* phenomenon
lol
Lol. Don't know but he'll be having withdrawal symptoms....itching to tell us the inside story of Monday's rise.
It's a unique opportunity for Scotgold.
Sure, there's something in the Scottish psyche not to think MASSIVE but the company should embrace wholeheartedly the opportunity to get onboard the marketing phenomena that is Musk and Zuckerberg.
Opportunities like this come but rarely.
Losing the plot: if there's a downside to Scotgold Resources offering a gold medal made of pure Scottish gold to the winner of the Musk v Zuckerberg bout, spell it out. You won't beat about the bush if there is a downside - we've both been here since the dawn of time - but there isn't one.
BP,have you lost the plot altogether or are you standing in for somebody?.Also, what have you done to TB? mia for 3 weeks
I know about such things and if the idea had come from Jennifer Fotherington-Windsor-Smythe working for a boutique creative agency in Mayfair, people would be salivating at the idea.
Costs: production cost, some engraving, postage, and a nice tartan lol ribbon so that the Scotgold medal can be hung around the victor's neck.
We'd also need a decent pr campaign to make sure the various media picked up on our unique offer but if either Zuckerberg or Musk saw our tweet offering the prize and responded that would take care of itself.
Imagine! "Thanks guys!! I've always loved Scotland and hope to visit one day soon. Any chance you could run up a silver medal for my opponent? There ain't no way he's getting gold."
Upside? Absolutely incalculable. You'd have devotees of Instagram, Facebook, Meta, AI, Tesla, rockets, MMA all taking note of Scotgold Resources - and the normal press where we've had some decent coverage before. Boy, did we let that go to waste?!
And the Yanks LOVE that sort of thing - a Scotgold, pure Scottish gold medal from yon bonnie banks of Loch Lomond (close enough) in Scotland would be the most fantastic story.
A mining company being at the leading edge of the zeitgeist would also be a massive feather in our glengarry.
Don't waste this idea Scotgold Resources. What possible downside is there? The upside as I wrote above is incalculable.
I repeat - I know about these things.
A Scotgold mug might be more appropriate.
Anyone from the company reading this PLEASE consider this and then just do it! Similarly, anyone with contacts in the company please make sure this idea is seen.
Scotgold should get in on the Musk v Zuckerberg fight by offering a Scotgold pure Scottish Gold medal to the winner.
The two protagonists do pick up on offers, for example, from experts offering to train them and any expression of gratitude from either or both would seriously put us on the international map.
The scrap has caught the public's imagination and SGZ would get seen and noticed by millions of people. Heck, the two guys might like the company so much they'd buy (a bit of) it.
Don't waste this unique idea, Scotgold. Another gold producer will doubtless seek to cash in on the fight if they can but if we act now we can be first. And Scotland does have that warrior / clansman / claymore-wielding Braveheart reputation.
(Could we also offer a Scotgold silver medal to the runner up? We're always strangely quiet about what we do with our silver.)
I'm 100% serious and hope to see the offer on Twitter very shortly and before some other company nicks my idea.
We're still big in Bangladesh but nothing very useful.

Sgz always moved on low volumes usually down. There were many many previous times where the SP drop didn't justify the number of sells. The MMs won't be holding that many so now we have a reversal of the process that took us down in the first place
Well the p&d theory is dead in the water, there is something afoot here. Insiders buying?
I note there's an item of that value shown here (lse trades between 16:23 and 16:26...
