I think you could well be correct there, Brian Souter wanted Scotland independence and publicly said so, pretty obvious he was not going to get the new franchise, as for the uk not for sale, is there anything else the torrid tories can sell, I don't think we own nothing now that can be sold.
75% uk rail foreign owned. Electricity and gas companies mainly foreign owned. Nuclear mainly foreign owned. Water mainly foreign owned. China buying up UK land Qatar own London blah blah BREXIT Aye right. UK not for sale my arse Why did SGC loose Southern Cause Brian is an SNP backer Just a theory!! Would the blue rinse brigade be so devious.
Difficult to work out where this Share is going,my believe with the above now halve price and taking div into account Even with latest difficulties has to be cheap
How low can this go?
Not a bad RNS and potential oil price increases could get a few more bums back on the buses.... seems to have been down for a while but divi holding so happy to sit in long term
total borrowing nearly 800mill total assets 2.2bill net profit 99mill they have had the same level of debts (give or take a few mill) for the last 5 years. Seem to cope ok with the repayments and pay a decent dividend. They don't seem to pay it down though and those busses etc need replacing every few years. Am thinking about having some of these for a long term earner myself, still undecided.
Virgin Trains has reported a rise in the number of passengers using its cross-border rail services over the last six months. The company said more than 5,000 extra passengers were travelling on its trains each week between Edinburgh and Newcastle. It said the 7% growth came after it added 42 new services a week on the East Coast Main Line. The rail firm has promised to invest £140m to upgrade its services. An overhaul of first class lounges - including at Edinburgh Waverley and the launch of a new menu designed by chef James Martin is being completed, while onboard entertainment and wi-fi services have also been improved. 'Positive response' Between May and September, the number of passengers crossing the border in each direction on the east coast route grew by 7% compared to the same period last year. The company said the timetable overhaul, which came into force in May, was the first major step in transforming east coast services between Edinburgh and London. In December, Virgin will introduce a further three services on Sundays and a late-night service to Newcastle on Friday evenings.
Hi. I'm just looking at SGC as a potential long term dividend play. However form the bits i've ready, nobody has mentioned its massive net debt which according to Digital Look is 200%+, is this figure wrong?. I admit I should double check any figures myself, but i'm too dim to work this one out :).
Thanks
Looks to be slowly climbing out of downtrend and moving up but never seems to go at any pace. However, if you look at market comparatives ie NEX then stagecoach is somewhat lagging. Rail franchise for Swt I believe will be around Feb from memory and that could be weighing down sentiment. Either way short-term can see this going up to around 225 imo.
Does anbody know where this is golng ,dollar on the up should improve profits
