I'm not sure that a pre-tax profit of £1.4m versus a forecast of £2.9m (http://www.digitallook.com/equity/Source_BioScience) is "doing very well on all fronts". I wonder when the "non recurring costs" will finish. Another £0.8m in 2014 and all of it in the second half - not a penny booked in the interim accounts. That seems odd. I thought that the point about non-recurring cost was that they don't, well, recur?
Agree, company appears to be doing very well on all fronts. Personally I think this company would generate more interest on Aim but being on the main market it seems not many punters ever see the stock. Unless one is au fait with it and looking out for it, it just goes by the board and no-one notices. Mostly selling I see today probably because there is no fantastic headline news nor any sign of a divi. Whether N+1 Singer, our broker, with it's 'Corporate' recommendation which was reiterated today will do any good - unfortunately, I doubt it. Looks like back to the bottom drawer until another set of good interims(hopefully, presumably) in May. I've just emailed N+1 Singer to explain their rating. GL
Revenue and Profits all up. Outlook We believe that the Group has a very strong business model and opportunities for further growth are apparent across all three divisions. ------------------------------------------------ Building a very strong company. Maybe the sp will begin to reflect growth.
Decent rise and reasonable volume ahead of results tomorrow - has there been a good news leak?
I do hope so, I've held these for years - cant believe how patient I have been. Hopefully It moves past this barrier of circa 12p!
March 25th results, hope this spurs us on.
Hi......... thanks for your reply and hope you are hale and hearty after treatment. Think March 25th results will give some plus/negative insight (statement of the obvious !!) so fingers crossed for good-to-very-good news. Will continue r/search in meantime. Rgds, Dyfi. END
Afternoon, Plunger............. am new to SBS as of early last week. So would be grateful for any insightful comment on the prospects for SBs from you as I've seen your handle on other bulletin boards and suspect you know your onions with a share like this. Have done some research, but could do with info and comment from any sources. Best rgds. END
"Source BioScience will announce preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2014 in the second half of March 2015." So, it will be after the 15th of March (the Ides). Anyway, they are expected to be 'in line with expectations' which is a pity, was hoping for stupendous profits way beyond those known to man, but must have been dreaming. Certainly Henderson and Oryx seem to like us.
Looking at all the BIG trades over the last 10 days or so, it's funny how they're nearly all done spot on 11p. Seems these big boys have been getting good deals or maybe just transferring between themselves at this agreed price. Seems the price to Joe Punter to buy is 11.5p. Think you are right in thinking something is afoot, but what?
Richard Griffiths buying - know him from old. He bought masses of Ascent Resources at a fairly low price of about 0.7p but probably still has them as they've not got anywhere with their Slovak gas discovery yet after years of fighting red tape. Think he was in Ascent - but checking that stock, can't find him. Anyway, he's a big roller, and if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me. KL
Your maths is off - between Henderson and Oryx they have 90m of 313.5m in issue, that's 28.7%. Still a mighty commanding holding they have together, enough to seriously influence future voting issues.
More big buying reported. KL (KP?)
More Holdings from Oryx again. Thanks for sharing your personal experience and good to hear you were impressed. It certainly is a much bigger outfit than I thought but of course it has been expanding, often through acquisition. Think you, me and the gatepost are probably going to go very quiet for a while but some Big ii's are buying so that may keep our interest. GL and KL
Having gone through the RNS more fully, I see a lot of bright things possibly not too far round the corner. What surprised me from the RNS is just how big and widespread this company already is. The list of sites/offices/labs is quite impressive. I suppose for a £35m market cap company you've got to have a few things going for you, but bigger than I thought. I just imagine a few University boffins, a spotlessly clean lab or two and a lot of overnight bio-testing stuff. Sums up what I know though I've been here for about 4 years now. Solid, but when are we going to have some fireworks?
Update RNS - haven't fully digested yet but 'in-line with expectations' - as expected - lol.
Another 'Holdings' - this time Oryx Up 3m shares. Difficult to see much rhyme or reason in these ii comings and goings. Know what you mean about the US - apparently Jessie Jay is cracking into it, but been trying for years. Also apparently 2 x UK could fit in Texas - put that in your pipe and smoke it - lol.
Yes, I consider that very naughty of them. Henderson and Oryx were buying last week. Holdings besides, this company is not exactly one to blow it's own trumpet or any trumpet for that matter with a fanfare of news. If true to form, the next RNS will be a 'Notice of Results' early March with the Annual Results 2 weeks later. It would be nice to hear a few trumpets at least then. Presume everything is to 'market expectations' which unfortunately means going nowhere as usual. Here's hoping we will have some big contracts soon over the pond.
Trades going through. Artemis dumping more? Holdings RNs soon l'd imagine.
There's some very good observations on ADVFN about the latest results. This company doesn't attract the superficial jump on the bandwagon ramping brigade, they are serious investors who look at this and with mixed views but overall fairly positive. Slight concern about the cash which I noticed and certainly if they're going to continue on the acquisition trail they might have to find more.
Yeah I see it's quietly rising a little. Excellent company just needs to consolidate a bit from here and get those acquisitions in sync and the US moving and we could be on to a very nice little earner here.
Moving up again today pabs albeit on small volume.
It truly has been a quiet, illiquid share for several years. I do see there have been 2 X 400,000 Sells in the last few days for some reason - can't think of any. Have held for about 3 years now and have pretty well always been up in this share though it has as yet never really started to motor. Perhaps a few contracts in the US or similar might trigger things?
Strange, after an upbeat update, although the SP has gone up, only 2,074 shares have been traded (bought). This company, for all it's good points is, alas, still off virtually everyone's radar!! Which obviously presents a buying opportunity when funds become available shortly (but not today, 2,074 is not my buy!!)
Quote RNS : "The excellent momentum seen in the first half of the year is flowing through to the second half" and "it is satisfying to report that the new Us-based activities are already generating incremental revenue for the group" ;)
