Coffee are you saying you can set losses on aim against income tax? If so then I would pay very little tax
I am sure some of you guys could........... http://www.las-ventas.com/
What are you talking about? Eddie Limerick hasn't invested anything like 2 million quid in this dog!
Fizzy ... you need to change accountants. .
This is a pointless conversation. The logic doesn't stack up. Why would Limerick and his wife invest 2 million in a share just to offset a tax bill? It doesn't make sense! Firstly he has to make a loss on the share. Secondly even if the company went into liquidation and he lost everything he would need to be on a tax rate of over 100% before he would get anything back on his 2 million.
You cant offset losses against tax???? You can against any capital gains you have but not against income tax. So no one would invest in a risk to offset losses unless they made big capital tax gains on property, art or other shares etc.
Cheers Bob, it's why I don't mind investing in Aim, useful tax tool and completely legal.... The only downside is when you have a dog like Roxi that magically trades between 9 -12 P You need a profit or a loss to make it worthwhile.
Sorry guys, just read over the last few messages, it's amazing how the conversation goes to well thought out and level headed when certain members are not here to comment. Common sense is not so dead. Your right on the tax offset by the way. As we all know money follows money we can all but try our best to ride the coat tales.
Jmr... I think you are very close to the truth there .... but it's not Clive's fault! I am being serious here ... Clive does as he is told ... The owners here are the ones controlling the drills and they want to continue using their own people ... Clive is a busy boy with different cos to release rns ' s for. ... He is not involved in the day to day running of the firm.... It is oraziman etc who are running / ruining poxy at the moment .. whether by design or by error is the question ?
" no miracles needed there, just a competent drilling crew" - what nonsense you are talking Olufsen! A competent drilling crew at Roxi WOULD be a miracle! (And a VERY necessary one!) The lack of any news is clearly yet more bad news - delays delays and more delays, the usual Roxi story. Clive the Clown needs replacing with someone credible and a decent management need to be brought in, until then this will just wither away in the single digits until it's time to do another placing to raise more money for them to waste slowly on drills which yield no flow. All very simple really, I thought they might have actually realised by now that it was in their own interests to admit (to themselves) that they aren't up to the job and get someone capable in to manage their asset development, but that looks less likely by the day. Pity, Roxi could have been something wonderful, now it is probably heading slowly towards bankrupcy rather like a slow-motion train wreck on replay.
Re Limericks Purchases..... bit left field but worth thinking about. You have a tax bill to pay of £100k for the next year or two if you defer it over, you lay that £100k on a risky AIM oil explorer ( all oil explorer's carry some risk, being on Aim just increases the load ) if it comes in at 5:1 you now have a bigger tax bill to pay but also the increased funds to do so. If it bombs out and does the lot then you now have an "asset" to offset your tax bill of a worthless £100k share certificate so you now are no better or worse off. Money goes to money so they rarely tend to risk the family silver......
You ask why is limericks family buying if the speculation of the wells being dud are true.well one reason would to be install false confidence in PI's, the money they are spending is nothing to the money they are making and creaming off the top. Could also be a reason to keep realsing cryptic or non-fruition statements! I'm hoping that's not the case and it's a hold the cards near a chest or they are just suffering lots of set backs and are ratifying them. But time keeps moving and nothing much happens, even after a so called great RNS and we see the sp go up, the dust settles and it trickles back down again, we re-read those RNS and basically they are all made up nonsense that promise well tests and side tracks and news on A5, A6, 801 etc but as always it never seems to happen. Its always news telling us what they are going to do never news about telling us that they have accomplished what they have told us months/years ago that would only take a short time. One for gone conclusion is they are diabolical at communicating and real information to market.
olufsen, we as Pi's have no standing or importance to this company, therefore up to date info will not come until the directors etc. so decide. This company only operates for them and they know what is happening. You either accept this fact with ROXi or you find better success elsewhere. I know it is frustrating for all of us, but by realising we are of no importance to the company makes it easier to make the decision leave or stay. GL.
Clown Carver..... I like it. The perfect euonym.
Clown Carver mentioned in the previous RNS [dated on January 17th] as below; Further to interim results announcement on 28 September 2016, the Company is pleased to confirm that it expects to post a circular to shareholders in connection with the proposed merger with Baverstock in the coming weeks. It has already passed more than 5 weeks, and he should have used "in the coming year" instead of coming weeks as Roxi did same thing at deep well spudding and pilot test. Just wonder, what has dragged the merger process mentioned by Roxi? [Below is I quoted from the Roxi's presentation material dated on Nov. 24, 2016 Merger subject to approvals of: UK Takeover Panel Independent Roxi shareholders Baverstock quota holders Kazakh Government Completion targeting December 2016
Seems to have retrenched back into his hole. What's up buddy Cat got your Tongue.
My comment adds the courtesy of a response to E1 who had directed a post at me. Do tell us, what exactly does YOUR message add?!
What does your message add to the bb?
Don't be afraid, old son, it appears that by some absolute and complete miracle it is still possible to buy under 10p today!!! (Just had a quote from my broker just beneath 10p, how long it will last who knows, but be sure to get hold of these golden tickets at their ridiculous 90% discount to value!!!! LOL) NB: This is NOT a recommendation to buy Roxi shares, despite them apparently being worth £1/share according to some and miraculously trading at only 10p today!
That's the beauty of literature.....it's all about interpretation !
"JMR I won't be able to sleep tonight worrying that I've missed a once in a lifetime, never to be repeated opportunity to buy these golden tickets for less than 10 pence and book my place at the pending £1 party." - I assume this is said in jest ?
I still have faith but I figured I lost about fifteen thousand in time value if my ROXI money had been in my other stocks. Hind sight is 20/20 though.
E1 you forget about the Chinese reworking the twenty old wells. Hurry you still have time.
Jupiter oil ...by end of Q1 2017 apparently, although been shut in since 2015 starting to gear up for production.persobally prefer Roxi but if u wanted to spread yr risk in country......
