Volz could have been making our masks long ago if our BoD had got their act together
its not an old rns https://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tenders/opportunities/portal/screen/covid-19/sk/165
There was a good find today in the telegram group the mask also covers the Schmallenburg virus you might want to google that
Do remember that we were supposed to be supplying our tech to Volz to use on their own brands
Slovak affiliate of the German company (VOLZ Luffilters) - VOLZ Filters in Martin, will produce highly effective protective face masks (FFP3 repirators). These companies would deliver their products to the Slovak government.
LOL - abrooking's helpful twitter link has done the sp no harm ;)
Commissioning and production are not separated by a decisive dividing line. Commissioning can cover all aspects of production including speeding up a machine that has demonstrated capability to produce a certified product through to training of new staff and operations. Masks can be produced for market during commissioning.
To note that he big RNS stated that production can now start so they are producing masks, albeit at a slower than anticipated rate.
Twitter is for the birds. Should have listened to Shouston yesterday instead of hurling insults. Shouston was spot on. CE mark doesn't matter now. Certification is a given - it's just a mask.
It is hard to clarify order fulfilment until production volume is understood. Most products are not launched with this amount of scrutiny. RMS will be doing a lot of customer management, sending out samples and trying to keep prospective buyers happy whilst probably not being able to state exactly how many masks they can provide. Sorting that out will provide the data for the next meaningful RNS - orders and projected income. Imagine providing an RNS saying they sold x amount and then realising they couldn't fulfil that order down the line...
Hi Chrispy. I would agree that masks could have been supplied during the commissioning period.
Commissioning l have worked on albeit years ago were installed and set up. Made to ensure they went through all operations and then signed over ready for use. Would normally stay a week after if a completely newly designed machine to a new customer.
These machines produced silicon wafers for the chip. You could run the machine prior to completion of commissioning for the company's testing of silicon cylinders.
Another point of interests nowadays is at what stage do you sign over a machine and say it is commissioned? Is it done on installation or is it done prior to leaving the factory?
You cannot use a machine that has not been correctly installed on the grounds health and safety. We can look at testing post installation to see if it lives up to the manufacturesrs claims.
So yes again.l my self can see no reason why the machine cannot produce samples from batches during the commissioning process.
Regards
It would be stupid to change the machine from 4 ply to 5 ply what is needed if rms is going to produce 5 ply is get a another dedicated machine , you are asking for trouble if you change 1 machine to do 2 things
Volz would be the ones running the 5ply not p2f
If a machine is commissioned it has no guarantee that the end product is of a suitable standard. Commissioning when l were involved with it years ago was all about the setting up and safe operation of a machine. The machine will operate for what it is designed to do.
The RMS machine was modified for an extra layer of mask. So if what you are stating is correct this will need to be set up and commissioned again prior to the manufacture of the other 5 layer mask.
These RMS guys strike me as a group of young Cubs trying to complete an exciting new task and not as what we require, that is an experienced dynamic pro-active aggressive team hungry to lead and dominate the mid and higher margin part of the safety Mask market. Elon Musk's approach provides a good example for these cozy and cozy, option obsessed directors. I continue to hold a substantial investment but have deferred by retirement.

Interesting
The EN14683 Certification is genuine.
"... as far as l know if the machine is set up and produces masks these are suitable as samples for CE certification."
Nope. The production process needs to established and signed off. You need multiple samples from different runs. Part of the CE mark process is about establishing that the product will be consistently produced to standard and you can't do that with a machine that hasn't been fully commissioned.
abrooking - twitter link was brilliant. Made me smile.
Watch it
You might trigger a RNS -
Regulator, good morning sir,, as far as l know if the machine is set up and produces masks these are suitable as samples for CE certification. There is no need to wait until the end of a commissioning period as such. They most likely still have teething problems obtaining maximum stated output.

Just need to watch out now for cheap Chinese copies. CE marked. Experienced this before and was stated by the company the products came from, stood for Chinese Export.
Wow, surely heading to £1 soon if this is real:
