So, going back to agency staff.
3 attended today, 4 hours each, and took out 31 parcels.
I think Simon is going to need a bigger workforce.
We've also got 7 extra vans on hire.
If this goes ahead it will be disastrous. Over to you Mr Thompson.
isleworth i didnt see eye to eye with you at the time but my eyes are wide open now. it takes a lot to turn me militant but on this one i am.... and others who have the same opinion as me at the time are now so angry that we have been not only used but abused.... so i apologize from previous posts as you were right all along....
@ wolvesposty.
Welcome to the world of the militant, workshy dinosaurs.
You are now an honorary member.
@ Commonsense.
I actually hope you're right.
But as i've said before, Thompson ain't for turning. IMO
@ Commonsense.
Are you aware that this strike is because of the massive pay rise we were given?
It has nothing to do with our proposed changes.
That is the next strike.
its been almost 2 years since i posted on here after selling up but have watched with interest. i'll tell you my view on royal mail.... i used to back the company and if you read back on my posts i voted against the last ballot on ia. i class myself as a hard working posty, yes there are a few lazy ones but all companies have them...now let me tell you why i changed opinion on the management....over the pandemic we couldnt use 2 to a van so the bosses asked us to use our own vehicles. paid 43p per mile and assured we were insured....i got paid like other posties 43px 8 mile a day over 6 days....roughly £20 a week... and so did thousands of other posties. where could you hire a car all fuelled up taxed and insured for that? NOWHERE even if hire companies were open. i did this and then found out later that my car wasnt insured only their mail...LIES.... management paid 43p a mile to cover. driving 300+ miles per week some in electric cars would you believe. royal mail would of failed miserably if it wasnt for personal use that let them rack up their huge profits.... when questioned and asked for a little more was told a big fat no. just if you dont you will have to come in later on the afternoon when a van has returned... what gratitude...royal mail turned us all over after the pandemic as we fulfilled our use to them..so as a posty that argued the toss with the likes of isleworth etc i now know what we deal with....i did say when rico was pushed be careful what you wish for and was proved right. mr T has filled his boots on last years results and awarded free shares and bonus's knowing results are obviously going to be lower post covid...will he and the other directors hand it all back when we make a loss? behave they will be replaced by some others that will try and do the same..... so as a decent posty and not a lazy f****r i will be on that picket line and i never ever thought i would say that
Glad I sold at 581 which anyone can see on my post history I was talking the share down and got accused by Mike 1974 I was a deramper at the time people were talking it up to 7 pounds must admit I’m feeling quite smug now
@AS
So what is your solution to the problem? How should Royal Mail look after their workforce?
They’re currently losing £1m a day and posted a £92m operating loss in Q1 and your suggestion is?
I'm really not having a go because you seem like a pretty level headed guy , and I agree with most of what you post . However you keep posting the above about this 92m operating loss like its somehow the workers fault , Surrey you can see that a 92m loss after shelling out 400million to shareholders plus what the fat cats paid themselves sounds like quite a profitable business to me. All the workers are saying is that there needs to be a balance and something is way off kilter at present. Surely you can see that if they had given less to shareholders and more to workers everyone would be happier and we wouldn't all be in this mess. Workforce would be happy , shareholders happy = SP increase.
Calling all holders … this was a VERY important day to bounce off what some might have thought was a shocking rns !! As we have chatted - any holder pre today knows of all the bad news for some time including strikes - ok dates were new - and my goodness there has been a lot of bad news
Going forward it is now very clear …either
Strike is called off and deal agreed - stock up maybe 20%
Or
Details of GLS spin off is revealed - stock up 30% min
In meantime … analysts will know this and begin to tell the market. Expect upward creep next few weeks as long as main market stays steady
Good luck all
Thanks for that @Westham21
I looked at your past post history and I'm still laughing at you.
Enjoy
Lazy f*#cks
Really
You work for royal mail with their proposals and you would naturally become a lazy f*#ck. Why would you want to go the extra mile.
You really don't know what your talking about mate.
Look after your workforce and everything will flow including the share price
What a complete idiot you are!!
Westham. Do you recall a time since 2013 when the workforce were happy?
You have got to work with your people that make this company tick to have a successful company and the shares will take care of itself
Upset your workforce and the shares will be worth nothing.
Your lose customers and your competitors will be rubbing their hands together
Fact
If Hunt was not so incensed by every post of mine he might concede that I made numerous comments to the effect the SP was going to tank when it was 500+
At that time other informed posters were talking of it up around 800
Commonsense, your post at 07:04 this morning stated
"I am really not sure in a modern day and age of e mail that not having post or even a parcel for a day has a huge effect apart from lose Royal Mail workers sympathy and ultimately jobs".
If that statement is true (and I tend to agree) then why oh why is Thompson insisting that the network is changed so that buyers can purchase up until 23:59 for next day delivery? Surely if something is required that urgently then they would pay a little more and purchase locally? If it's something that can't be purchased locally then the buyer is going to have to learn the value of patience?
Unfortunately we live in a world of instant gratification.
Exactly Dowsie but of course hunt believes shares rise and fall in straight lines. So what hope he will see the wisdom in your word
Yeah because the share price is doing great now isn't it.
Phunt73 the reason they give the money to the shareholders is because it will increase the value of the share . Imagine how bad the share price would be if instead of paying dividends they gave that money to the postman the share price would tank . And it’s not just Royal Mail that goes to any company registeterd as a PLC
Merlwood. Well said.
The price will drop just wait and see.
Was that post just to justify your last post that advised someone the the price will drop ?? Usual well informed drivel from the class clown.
Plus of course they want an appearance of trouble ahead and shareholders concerned with their holdings. IA is the perfect scenario.
Teslo "Nice turnaround today with the share price"
I am anticipating an increase in shorts. We know when they increase they want to do so at a higher price. Then drive it lower until they buy back at the lower price. So stands to reason they will manipulate higher before increasing.?
It's not extreme greed it's extreme stupiity. If someone earning £100K+ a year says I will get you a 10%+ a year rise from a company that will lose money they are not living in the real world. Go on strike, let redundentcies follow and be out of work.
Stop listening to those malicious union bosses who only want to feather their own nests and realise they are not acting in your interests but their own and stirring up trouble. Accept a reasonable increase now and come back for more when profits improve.
Nice turnaround today with the share price.
The market obviously want's the lazy f@@@s to strike.
