Down today by 4.6p, which will be ex divi ( 5.8p)
Down today 5.2 p, but goes ex divi tomorrow ( 5.8p ) divi . Trying to buy via HSBC, but web site playing up and cannot get a price. So might have to leave it.
Ex div ( interim) this Wednesday.
Agree that this is a low risk share( regardless of current Russian roulette) and would accumulate at 480 p given that the next dividend payment will be attractive; the base line so far this year has been 475p with the sp "twin peaking" near 550 p.
Rexam has difficult times lately with higher costs. I think at £5,00 and the current dividends...this is a solid share. I for one will be a buyer at this price.
Back from Hols, I see price has been up (547p ??) and now down. Heading for my 500p buy level. Agree with Gideon. Hope we all are soon in profit. NB
Haha, no it isn't. We all understand that everyone is here to make money but posting something like that makes you sound a bit desperate. Clearly current levels are not a buy opportunity. Sub 500; yes I would agree with Navybloke for the buy. Good luck everyone.
Now is a great time to BUY
Well Corlis, that's one to you!!. REX just touched 540 early today. - - But if you're not in you can't take advantage. I'm still waiting (and watching) Nice one MF. Best Regards NB
C38 .....I'm watching - NB
We may see a little rise today
I think I'll wait for below 500. - No rush in my opinion. Still have my long/long term holding. Half year results due at start of August but I don't expect anything out of the ordinary.. I think the price will just move in line with FTSE and I think that's going to fall. GL to all ( Not many folk watching REX?) NB
This may rise again to 540ish but i see another drop on charts. Im not in this at mo - LONG or SHORT as very hard to read at present imo.
Hello Corlis, I think you & I both watch this one to the same ends. - Look back at February/ March posts As said in previous posts, I tend to use observed cyclical movement to decide when to buy/sell. What is your trick?? Best of luck. NB
Time to take your profit out now.
Fair enough, all the best and good luck. Gideon
Hi Gideon, I remain a very long term (23 yrs+) investor in RXM. But with a lot of FTSE 100 companies I use their cyclic movements to "trade" in and out to take short term profit where I can. No problem with my broker yesterday selling shares. I'll still benefit from the reconstruction on the bulk of my RXM holding. I don't let divivdends, etc affect my decisions to take profits on my short term actions. Good Luck .. .. NB
I doubt if anyone would have been able to sell yesterday because the holdings were restricted to complete reconstruction.
Disagree, This is not a share to be selling. Long term holder here and really benefited.
What about the share reconstruction? If you sell now would you not be losing out on that?
in at 482 (Mid March) and now can sell at abt 535. 9% profit in abt 10 weeks. (AFTER COSTS) Not too bad . wish I could do this every 10 weeks. (See my post 14th March) - Sainsbury is showing abt 7-8% so maybe time to "profit take there too. GL NB
to read shareholder circular. Keep putting it off.
Strong sterling means headwinds for profit conversion. Trouble with Russia and uncertainty in Turkey. Emerging markets ok long term. Rexam has had very good run. Do not knock the company but with US reducing liquidity believe not at present the time to buy this. Time to take some money off the table for now
In Feb you said you were a newbie to these boards. Are you still watching? Did you get anywhere with your REX (B) enquiry?? When REX goes below 480 imo it is time to buy some more - (if you have spare investment funds) If you follow Blue chips it is also time to think abt Sainsbury, Tesco and Morrison - These are all sound shares and will REBOUND. GL NB
Whatever happened to Corlis' suggestion last month that Rexam was due to rise 5-10%? ? ? ? SP is now abt 4% DOWN and approaching my BUY point. No fancy charts or algorithms. I held Rexam shares since Rexam emerged out of (? sorry too old to remember!). I also buy in/sell out on a cyclical basis. - Medium term profits (say 5-6% in 2-3 months). Shares like this can be far more reliable than some on AIM. Watch this space GL NB
