I only go in to the Bunker from 2.00am-4.00am to avoid being spotted so I can carry on doing my Hydrogen experiments....

NSS22 - Thanks again for all your news / link posting. How do you find the time to trawl for them?
I imagine you living underground in a Bond villain like bunker, surrounded by HD screens - hope I'm wrong.
Once again the Houthi attack on Abu Dhabi has not really affected the oil price too much and any gains will probably be short lived. If however they can prove what we already know that Iran is behind the drone attack then there could be reprisals and things could go sideways very quickly.
NSS, Also another $2-3 Billion when we sell off Nigeria if we can find a buyer.
There does not appear to be much interest except from the locals who don’t want to pay the true value.
Still plenty of noise about.....

John 42 It would appear in a world larger than yours
He's correct, RDS.B closed Friday at $50.08 on the nyse. Each of these represent 2 shares in Shell.
He's right.
2 shares for £50
getting closer to 87 dollars - if the economies completely fire up due to an improving Omicron situation in the coming weeks, then Brent into 3 figures is a possibility.
nomad what world are u in ? shell at $50 ?
Royal Dutch Shell PLC said Monday that it has, along with partner and Iberdrola SA subsidiary Scottish Power, won bids to develop 5 gigawatts of floating offshore wind farms off the east and north-east coast of Scotland. The energy major said it secured the leases through the ScotWind auction by the Crown Estate Scotland, and that it will use innovative technology to install turbines further from the shore to catch more powerful winds. The new wind farms will be delivered through two new joint ventures, called MarramWind and CampionWind, and will be two of the world's first large-scale floating offshore wind farms. Once built, MarramWind's and CampionWind's floating wind projects could accommodate a total generation capacity of around 3 gigawatts and 2 gigawatts, respectively--the equivalent of 6 million homes in Scotland.
"Shell and ScottishPower can now look forward to generating floating wind power at significant scale in the U.K. to accelerate the country's transition towards net zero. Floating wind plays to our strengths in deeper offshore projects, and we are well placed to help advance the wider take-up of this important clean energy source," said Wael Sawan, Shell's Integrated Gas and Renewables and Energy Solutions Director
So Shell and its partner win over £150 million in off short scottish contracts.....5000 MW in total....
Sounds like fantastic for us in years to come.....

char - I did say that, for me, it's a flip of the coin. I'm sure others may also have said the same.
4 out of 5.
Interesting times indeed Barrie and Tom -
Just two years ago today the sp closed at 2265 but the dividend was twice the current level (from Q3), there was an OP war in progress and covid was yet to make an impact. So Shell is on firmer ground but will the divi be enough ? There's clearly lots of expectation and therefore room for disappointment too. Meanwhile Brent is indeed challenging the $86 barrier and Shell's sp has arrived at the first of two gaps which might speed its climb to the lowest rung of 2019 levels - there's little doubt they'll get filled but how soon will that be? https://invst.ly/x4zc1
Hi. Has someone said on here last week, its a flip of a coin as to a drop or rise on results day. I think it as rose 4 out of the last updates.
This is a nice rally. After results on Feb 3rd will it take a nosedive back to £16.50 as with last results or was that a one off?
Well Boyobach we’re at the magic $86 / barrel so let’s see if the OP dies ignite and run to $100 / barrel and what that does to SP
Lti sorry I was referring to the closing prices of the day and not intra-day range but forgot to say it here.

Unfortunately it's a very difficult country in which to operate: local government is often non-functional and corruption is endemic. (Sounds a bit like the UK, except our infrastructure is better and most of our population doesn't live in poverty.)
Local governments are often unable or unwilling to provide decent roads, healthcare and education for the communities. If Shell invests in those things - either altruistically or to improve quality of life for its own staff - it gets accused of currying favour with the locals. If it doesn't, it gets accused of pillaging the country's resources, even though most of the proceeds go to the Nigerian government. Add in oil spills, often caused by sabotage, and problems with human rights etc, and it's all a huge problem.
I've thought for a while that the energy transition will provide a good reason to exit the onshore Nigeria business. That would be good for Shell, although maybe not for Nigeria.
My RDSB price records only go back to Jan 2000 but during those 21 years there have been 3 Higher Highs and 3 Lower Lows.
The Higher Highs after Jan 2000 high 1795.80 are:-
2218.93 on 12/06/2001
2592.00 on 19/05/2014
2841.00 on 21/05/2018
The Lower Lows after Feb 2000 Low 1433.00 are:-
1159.94 on 12/03/2003
916.80 on 18/03/2020
866.40 on 28/10/2020
As you can see the Highest High 2841 to the Lowest Low 866.40 was a big retrace over 2 years. So for me I will be just let the stock price behaviour to tell where it wants to go and if it wants to go into a Definite Upward momentum then I have the following turning points in the medium to longer term for any Rallies to overcome b4 I can consider it’s in a definite upward momentum and I will be watching closely the Mid Point 1854 (from 2842 to 866.40).
Here I’m not referring to any short term rally/retrace which I expect during any momentum Up or Down but medium to long term stock price direction.
Rallies from the Lower Low 866.40:-
1360 (25% done now)
1854 (this is 50% of the retracement and a good signal to me)
2347 (75% of the retracement and a confirmation signal to me because it overcame the previous peak 2218.93 made on 12/06/2001 and then tried again on 06/07/2007 but failed short at 2167 and again 21/05/2008 at 2212)
I was a bit disappointed that the last Rally in October the stock price peaked below the Mid Point (at 1801.40 on 20/10/2021), but who said all my wishes have to come true all at once. So hopefully in this Rally it will close above 1854 this time round.
These are just my own pointers to understand the direction of momentum because I like to have achievable goals to measure against any price movements than have blind hopes which is dangerous to me tbh. So let’s see what the follow-ups hold.
