Perhaps it was as the crew looked happy!!!
I assumed it was she who had delivered the oil samples, given the time it's taken...
Wonga..Well done Ellen MacArthur!!
What is the relevance of Ellen Macarthur ? I ask as I have just seen the Ellen Macarthur yacht in Torbay.
I see Tomco have now factored in the sand sale proceeds to their production costs figures, reducing the cost of production of bitumen/diesel to $10.20 per barrel.
I don’t know who it was when they questioned the actual pallet quality and wheather it would get to fly out! Lol
Of course it was taken from the POSP, where else could it have been taken? You do know Greenfield trucked in ore from their new tar sands site right? That’s where the samples came from, ask MK, he’s confirmed it.
Well done Ellen MacArthur!!
From reading one of the links below, it would appear the MSAR production capability at QRF is being scaled up?? Be a good development if we can produce our own MSAR/BioMSAR in sufficient quantities for smaller trials, which should speed things up...
From the RNS:-
The sample of produced oil was taken by Greenfield from the Petroteq Oil Sands Plant ("POSP").
“Salinger
"It should also be telling that the samples are from the new tar sands site and not the POSP ore!"
Are you going to apologise for misleading the BB?”
You are the one who needs to apologise. I misled nobody. MK said the samples were taken from the POSP not the POSP ore. He has already confirmed the oil samples relate to the new tar sands site. It’s painful, do you not read what’s out there? You will note he did not mention anything about an MMU and production at POSP, suggest you go back and do some reading Fyoz.
Salinger
"It should also be telling that the samples are from the new tar sands site and not the POSP ore!"
Are you going to apologise for misleading the BB?
Exactly.
The three companies and one JV are not exactly flush. The POSP is now operational and can -on a good day and with suitable feedstock - produce up to 500 bbl/day bitumen. Or if the MMU ever makes it over there @700 bbl/day MSAR. The POSP confirms the proof of concept more than a standalone FEED study ever could.
If it makes money it makes sense. And cash is something they could do with instead of PQE’s monthly issues of shares for debt.
Wouldn't petroteq tomco valkor want to see a commercial demo first? Surely it would help the funding case?

POSP - Time to move on to commercial 5,000 bpd plant.
Looks like both Petroteq and Greenfield will be looking for funding to build separate plants over the next 12-18 months, giving QFI two potential clients for the MSAR adoption.
The reasons given by Steve Byle a year ago for the need to separate the POSP synthesised bitumen output from the tremulous WTI price are still valid. Hence my view that MSAR will still be trialed at the POSP when the three companies and the one JV have concluded their current posturing and agree on the way forward.
@fyoz it seems the posp would be an ideal testbed for msar
"Pure QFI" more like.
“ Pure genius”
Maybe. Their are the people with all the facts, and if they decide to take the route they’ve declared then that’s it regardless what we may think is logical.
They couldn’t achieve 250 bpd at the POSP largely because the ore had a much lower oil content than expected. Barrels per day depends hugely on oil content within the sand.
The decision has been made and it’s out there, sadly it runs counter to what we’ve been told and many assumed but I’m pretty certain QFI will not be producing msar at the POSP.
Is it really in any doubt they can produce msar there? If they can make msar from the samples then it’s a given, in any case, it’s clear dromMKs comment on the last RNS he has his sights set on the new plant too.
Frustrating I know but petroteq clearly states they are moving on to a "commercial" plant and looking at licencing. Their objective is to get their offering over the line. I suspect msar is at the back of their minds, but not high on the agenda right now. Tomco have all the time in the world to test msar and install an mmu at a new plant at least 12 months away. Worry about morroco if you have to worry about something...
When Salinger replies too Fyoz, I will also benefit.
" Anything other is desperation and failing to accept what’s happening before your eyes."
Oh yes I see it now. I already have a plant up and running, that I think will produce MSAR with an additional bit of kit. But I'm not going to try it on the existing plant, I'm going to wait until I've built a brand new plant in around 14 months time, before finding out for sure that it will produce MSAR
Pure genius
5 sample barrels... I think we are onto a winner here...last picture I saw had 3 barrels... its multiplying itself...Winner...
Bed ridden with covid please be gentle...;-)
"Why not ask QFI when the MMU is due to cross the Atlantic"
Surely this won't happen before the samples have been tested, and that can happen until they arrive?
Well you’d think the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Greenfield and PQE both say the same thing, they’ve moved on is by far the most logical interpretation of what they’ve announced. Anything other is desperation and failing to accept what’s happening before your eyes.
There’s not been a single comment from any party after July 2nd which suggests the POSP will continue to be used. If you look at the evidence it’s pretty convincing to me that attention is now on due diligence at the tar sands site, funding the 5k plants and getting them built.
Who has stated that POSP would not be profitable to run? The plant exists and is paid for. Can they not build the new plants while they chew gum?
If you’re personal rule is 100% certainty then I’d wonder why you invest on AIM. Nobody has stated the POSP is profitable. The figures relate to a new 5000 bpd plant, not the current setup. The technology is proven and they want to move to commercial plants now rather than divert themselves running the POSP.
What MK writes or says is irrelevant, Greenfield and PQE, those actually involved as owners and operators have made the situation perfectly clear.
Why not ask QFI when the MMU is due to cross the Atlantic?
