The company admitted that it had no new customers but said that this was because approval from the US Food and Drug Administration last December had come too late to plan product launches this year. Emphasis on new as they clearly have existing you can’t sell 265 tons to no one. You might recall they mentioned that 100 food & beverage companies are in talks with them. By 1994 stevia reportedly comprised 41% of the sweet substances consumed in Japan! Analyst – it’s the first 4 letters that give it away.
I preferred robert lindsay in “My Family” From The Times July 9, 2009 Not so sweet for PureCircle Robert Lindsay: Smaller companies PureCircle, the producer of a new zero-calorie sweetener, left a sour taste for investors when it revealed that debt had risen above expectations and that it was in talks to raise new bank loans. Why’s that then robert could it be to establish and upgrade plants and plantations in kenya, china, paraguay and elsewhere? Reb-A, extracted from leaves of the Stevia plant, has been hailed as a potential rival to Tate & Lyle’s Sucralose. PureCircle’s shares soared as high as 286p after it completed a factory in China on schedule and on budget, but they fell 34p to 162½p when it unveiled sales and profit that were lower than expectations. Debt for the year would be as high as $49 million, it said. Why’s that then robert could it be to establish and upgrade plants and plantations in kenya, china, paraguay and elsewhere? Iain Staples, an analyst at Noble who said a month ago that production forecasts looked optimistic, given problems with leaf quality and poor harvests in China, said that a dilutive share issue looked like a possibility. “This is not good coming before there is a proven appetite for the product from consumers,” he said. By 1994 stevia reportedly comprised 41% of the sweet substances consumed in Japan! (No proven appetite?) Talk to Coca Cola & Pepsi, Cargill
I no i'm ranting but DGASH@T...Also from today's RNS:- Product launches into the US market so far have included: * SoBe LifeWater and Tropicana Juice drinks by PepsiCo * Sprite Green, Odwalla and Vitaminwater by The Coca-Cola Company * All Sport by Dr. Pepper Snapple Group * PureVia, Truvia and Stevia In The Raw table-top products by Whole Earth, Cargill and Cumberland Packing Corp. respectively. France, the UK and the wider European Union and Canada are expected to be secured soon. When it hits the bottom, I believe in this Baby! I will buy, no doubt about it! It seems rediculous!!
Is this severe manipulation by mm's to trigger a river of stop losses.? I noticed that the high volume sells were quickly matched by buys until the last dump, I'm certainly ready to buy more when these drops slow. Everything about this company to me - including the director appointments - Jason Hecker, formerly of Kraft Foods, as Marketing director for The Americas, Mike Wolff, fomerly of NutraSweet, as Sales Director US, Mauricio Bacigaluppo from Tate & Lyle as Sales Director, Latin America. ALSO - Magomet Malsagov, Chief Executive, commented: "This was a transformational year for the NHIS market and for PureCircle. "We have established PureCircle as the world's leading supplier of Reb A. We have world class infrastructure in place and an excellent management team leading the business. "We expect the world's F&B companies to increase the rate of launches using Reb A during 2010 and 2011. "We are witnessing the emergence of a major new global industry. PureCircle is the undisputed market leader and we are well placed for further growth." One last thing - During FY 2009, the Company's net profits are expected to be not less than $11 million (FY 2008: $2 million), an increase of over 420%. Please someone explain how can a company with such a good buisness model tumble like the last 2 days, it defies logic!!!This could be the next NUTRASWEET for f/.cks sake!!! What don't I know. Yeah bad day alround for FTSE but why so sev
I cant believe with such a positive news release this has tanked so much. I guess the old saying buy on rumour sell on news has never been so apt. This company has massive potential, what is the down side after all the recent good news! I will fill my boots! Cant believe only a month ago or so i was up around 44% - now down 14%!!!! Didn't see this coming!!! Aghh!!
PureCircle, the company behind a new type of food and drink sweetener called Reb A, has hailed a “transformational year” which saw it reinforce its leading position in a “major new global industry”. The company said it had shipped 264 million tonnes of its Reb A product during the year, up 130% on 2008, meaning that sales will come at not less than US$62 million, up 85%. In turn, net profits are expected to be at least $11 million, an increase of 420%. The results come in the year that PureCircle received clearance from the Food & Drug Administration to market Reb A in the US. It noted that while the timing of that approval came too late for any new customers to plan Reb A sweetened product launches into their calendar 2009 budgets, 2010 would be a different story. Discussions are believed to be in progress with over 100 food and beverage brands, with indications that the expected new product launches, above existing committed volumes, will start during calendar 2010. Magomet Malsagov, PureCircle’s chief executive, commented: “We have established PureCircle as the world's leading supplier of Reb A. We have world class infrastructure in place and an excellent management team leading the business. “We are witnessing the emergence of a major new global industry. PureCircle is the undisputed market leader and we are well placed for further growth.” At these prices it would be rude not to fill your boots!!!!
I know you will be having a look over here later (after XTR) but do you know what trade type means "bargain Conditions apply)? Trade at 7.52am
I can understand maybe a little profit taking but when net profit increases approx 420% surely there is room for an increase in sp!!! You got a position here? What did you make of the news?
Why the drop when they post results like this: For FY 2009 the Company expects to report: Sales of 264 MT of Reb A (FY 2008: 115 MT), an increase of 130% Sales of not less than $62 million (FY 2008: $33 million), an increase of 85% Net profit of not less than $11 million (FY2008: $2 million), an increase of 420% Net debt of not more than $49 million (FY 2008: net cash of $27 million) Net assets of not less than $94 million (FY 2008: $83 million)
General downtrend on Ftse, Rallying pound against dollar dont help. In U.S last July, $2.1 dollars to pound, now $1.65 ish, gotta have an effect!
I've been in this share for about 6 months now and have seen it steady gaining from 160p to 280p on very positive news, now nothing and its in the top 20 biggest fallers today? Can anyone help?
Do you detect a placing with this drop today?
Happily always sober or sober-ish. Tragically Jacqui Smith is stepping down therefore i will have to find somewhere else to watch films. Re Pure i wanted that share, it's mine give it back. I may buy some more and raise my average a tad if i'm allowed to put it on expenses.
just re-reading that spring 2009 should be spring 2011. In any event the floodgates are opening.
http://www.foodnavigator.com/Legislation/France-and-rest-of-Europe-prepare-for-stevia-approval France and rest of Europe prepare for stevia approval By Jess Halliday, 01-Jun-2009 Manufacturers in France are gearing up to start using high purity stevia extract Reb A as soon as approval is signed off, according to a supplier, making use of an anticipated two-year window before full European approval. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has received three petitions for stevia sweeteners, from EUSTAS (the European Stevia Association), Cargill and Merisant. Industry is hoping that, pending a positive opinion, extracts with 95 per cent steviol glycosides could be approved in Europe under the new sweeteners directive by autumn 2010 or spring 2009. But in the meantime, member states can authorise a new sweetener under transition arrangements. Lasting two years, this route, which France is taking, will speed to sweetener’s advent to the European market – and by the time the 2 years is up it is expected that the EU will have given its seal of approval. France’s food safety agency, AFFSA, cleared use of 97 per cent purity Reb A earlier this year and ministerial authorisation is anticipated this summer.
After Centamin & Green Dragon Gas. Who knows how high this could go if it was promoted to the main market
Its the steadiest climber - bought at end of Jan and has risen slowly but steadily ever since - currently up 44% myself. Cant say fairer than that!!!
Has featured in shares already this year. Purchased on the back of that and am 28% in profit. Seems quite stable at present and expect there will be more to come here. Not selling but not yet sure whether to purchase more just yet. May just stick a little in week by week via sharebuilder. Electric Warrior quite likes this one I think!!! I do to.

(DPSG) will launch the first zero-calorie sports drink sweetened with rebiana, the natural sweetener derived from the stevia plant.
Not sure why my buy shows as a sell! I am not sure why there isn't more chat about this share. I have been in since £2 and just topped up again. My research shows they have potential for a fantastic second half of the year with higher levels of production, European approval and more product launches.
from Webinar : new extraction plant in Paraguay , breaking ground this year.
