@bigblue (by another name - Jotom750) Did Ukraine tell Russia 3 decades ago that it will like to Join NATO and have US Missiles on its territory?
You can always tell these inbred GbNews watchers by what they say.
Remind me again what the US blockade of Cuba during the Cuban missile crisis was all about.
By the looks of it based on the resent announcement of the GM and the article of association it appears they have worked out how to deal with the various MOEX stocks and ADRs. MOEX holders can transfer, if they don't thet can be paid a dividend in the form of extra shares. ADRs can be liquidated and thus are no longer an issue.
Yes kind of convergence between the twp prices is taking place; either naturally market driven or may be POLY itself doing the buying to add to Treasury and thereby bump up the the price to make one for one swap appear fair and therefore easier. A holder on MOEX would not be happy swapping one for one for something worth quite a bit less.
As regards BB and his bile comments, he has done what many on this board predicted he would do; disappear like a fart in the wind. I suspect few more like NH will follow suit as the benefits of holding POLY starts bearing real tangible benefits.
Something to do with MOEX holders in Russia swapping stock for that quoted on AIX I guess. It's nice to see the price going up. So much for Big Blue's constant verbal about the stock being worthless etc. He has gone very quiet lately....Wonder why !
No let up in rise in sp past few days....anyone knows why?
"Three decades ago, the newly independent country of Ukraine was briefly the third-largest nuclear power in the world.
Thousands of nuclear arms had been left on Ukrainian soil by Moscow after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. But in the years that followed, Ukraine made the decision to completely denuclearize.
In exchange, the U.S., the U.K. and Russia would guarantee Ukraine's security in a 1994 agreement known as the Budapest Memorandum."
In what way is russ1a adhearing to that agreement?
Putting Crimea aside, examining details of peace terms agreed and then not agreed, I don't believe Russia was being unreasonable. Russian President Gorbachev reached understanding with Reagan and the West back in the 1980's for NATO not to expand the alliance incorporating former east European countries, but NATO did. Again, in the Minsk agreement in 2014, Ukraine signed up to an agreement (Minsk 2) whereby it would not apply membership to NATO and provide autonomy to Eastern Donbas region which are predominantly ethnic Russians.
Instead of adhering to the agreement signed by his country, comedian Zelensky fought and won the election on platform promising Ukrainians membership to NATO and embraced right wing elements like the Azov Battalion who were making life a misery on ethnic Russians. He cancelled Russian language and culture, denying access to even the ethnic Russians within Ukraine.
Compare this to UK where we happily provided autonomy to Wales, Scotland, N Ireland and we encourage learning of Welsh and encourage and celebrate local cultures.
Putin and Russia had enough and comedian Zelensky (with zero political experience) failed to grasp seriousness of the situation and hence we are where we are.
Russia is a powerful country with too much invested in the conflict (blood and money), and the war is on its border and therefore cannot possibly lose. Zelensky gambled and now trying to win back lost territory and salvage his 'reputation' using his people and our money as pokerchips.
This can only go on for so long...........
"Peace can/will only happen when Zelensky stops hallucinating of a victory".
Ah, so nothing to do with the invaders cutting their losses and returning to benind their own borders then?
I suppose you also think that Elvis is alive too.
It's what you get when a comedian is in charge...both common sense and pragmatism goes out of the window. Like you say BSR, too much blood is spilt and that makes peace difficult.
Peace can/will only happen when Zelensky stops hallucinating of a victory
Ukraine peace deal confirmed again
Top Ukrainian politician and presidential advisor David Arakhamia added a seventh confirmation that a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine was agreed in principle in March 2022.
Six of the seven people that confirmed that a deal was all-but done participated in the talks held in Istanbul at the end of last March and they come from all sides of the table – Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Israel and the US – and they all agree almost perfectly on the details. The only one who wasn’t there was Fiona Hill, but as she is the top US advisor on Russia she was certainly kept in the loop.
Bottom line is they all say it was all about keeping Ukraine out of Nato and getting Ukraine to return to neutrality. Some sort of deal to make Donbas autonomous (and so under de facto Russian control) was agreed and the issue of Crimea was going to be kicked down the road for future generations to deal with.
It's not a bad deal at all, especially the part about Donbas, but just as it was about to be done, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson flew into Kyiv at Washington’s behest and told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy: “We are not going to sign anything. Let’s go to war instead!”
I'm biting my tongue. This cavalier attitude to people’s lives for the sake of geopolitical advantage (and in Johnson’s case, for his personal political advantage) is shocking. Ukraine general staff claimed today they have killed over 325,000 Russian soldiers. Comments by a Ukrainian MP says 97% of the veterans who started fighting Russian-backed separatists in 2014 are now dead.
Zelenskiy wanted to do the deal at the time, according to press reports. He made the comments standing in Bucha a few days later at the start of April looking ashen faced, but it was the statesman thing to do: put aside the anger and lust for revenge and just stop the killing. Personally, I think that history will treat the West poorly over this incident. And now we are locked into a war we can’t escape from as the starting positions of the two sides are so far apart that there is not one inch of common ground to build on.
The peace deal story also blows up a number of bedrock assumptions held by the pro-Ukraine lobby that could cause more problems for Zelenskiy in maintaining Western support. A key assumption has been this war is an imperialistic attack as Putin wants to rebuild the USSR. And that leads a priori to the assumption that Romania, Moldova and the Baltics are in danger as they will be next. If it is all about Nato – and Nato Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also confirmed the December 2021 talks were all about Nato too – then Russia’s operation will be limited to Ukraine and could well be limited to just eastern Ukraine.
It also undermines the assumption that it is “impossible” to do a deal with Putin. The argument runs that we shouldn’t call a ceasefire as that will only allow Russia to rest and rearm before Put
Anyone read the full document that can give me a summary?
Who are you trying to impress buddy ? 😂😂😂

Brutal news for Kyiv!
BILD research shows: Chancellor Scholz and US President Biden want to bring the Russia-Ukraine war to an end soon.
BUT: Ukraine President Zelensky should be forced in a very specific way to negotiate with Kremlin dictator Putin - and accept brutal compromises.

What conspiracy ?
US Market Closed AIX Open tomorrow 23rd November 2023.
Yet no trading in Polymetal on the AIX on the 23rd November due to Thanksgiving holidays in the USA.
Now explain to me why that is?
Please it is nothing to do with Polymetal trading in US dollars.
How are Polymetal trades on the AIX intrinsically financially aligned to the US financial institutions.
Now there is a conspiracy and its not an assumption.
@jonhnth. Fingers crossed. However no sale of Poly no divis.
