I caught these with some lucky timingā¦and have watched the SP rise fortuitouslyā¦but at some point, the reward will have to be in dividends also.
Divi @1.72 is only about 1% return on capital .When I first invested the divi was 4% so whilst there is good progress still a long way to go.
Yes indeed. Brilliant progressā¦ā¦.again !
Excellent set of results which bodes well for future. Div 1.728pps. Pd 26 Jul 24. Xd 27 Jun 24. Continued good fortune to one and all. Rgds, S

Seems shares manipulation. With 3% decline on great results. Yes, the Divi payout is lowish but Intrinsic shareholder value is high. That should see Capital share growth catch up with catalysts.

Itās about market sentiment. Shares should go up as results sink in, analyst meeting & investor briefings. This did happen before. Also markets are down today but unexpected news gets rewarded handsomely; BT shares up 8% on results.
Well was thinking Iād offload my holding here but no longer, this clearly has much further to go !
Those results are far better than the sp reaction imvho
Market should push up š shares today. Superb Results. Broker Revised Upgrades Now.

I wonder if we might get a significant increase in the divi, given the enhanced cash flow next year from the decrease in pension payments.

Watch the Free Cash Flow, strongest in years on results day this week. Thatās Pension Cost reductions with Ā£33 millions a definite flagged saving, big price increases across product ranges and relentless focus on lowering operating costs. I reckon International Growth will jump again. New product range sales will be a beat. So I can see Premier Shares going much higher. Itās the Free Cash Flow figure that may attract a Takeover Bid for Premier Foods.
Yes Premier shares will keep on rising. Especially as inflation moderates and maybe interest rates are cut back. Premier has done the hard graft and also pushed through inflation busting pricing. This should reflect on the bottom line profits. International growth will pump again with results next week. Footsie 250 stocks such as Premier should rise even more as global reallocation towards U.K. shares speeds up with US markets recently underperforming. I note that Deutsche has 210p price target for Premier Foods and this may rise again after the results.
I reckon on a steady rise until next Thursdayā¦ā¦but what happens on results day ?
I usually sell a few before results dayā¦..but last year they went up, and stayed up on results day. So who knows ?
Took another slice at 164p ( D ) same amount as the sale there 23/1/24 at 142p
At target set 3 months ago .
Excited today after no further guidance upgrade maybe this is as good as it gets and disappointed on the news may have to wait 3 years for the pension resolution. But will watch out for any meaningful pull back as Iām sure at some point this will be bought out.
Took another slice at 142p ( D ) same amount as the sale there 27/12/23 at 138p . ( approx 2.9% better near 1 month on )
Rns confirming good Christmas trading .
6 Analysts expect the price to increase by 17% , to 164p we will see .
Just had a look when I bought these shares in ( X ) one live deal 1/4/2016 at 55.44p
Maybe I have had divs as well over these 8 years ?
Did not look good 20/3/2020 when 18.5p maybe I should take courage for my other losers .
BEP for remaining shares 67.22p they must have been purchased at several different times .

One of the brokers has just issued it's rating for PFD as follows:
Deutsche Bank starts Premier Foods with 'buy' - price target 210 pence.
I always take broker ratings with a pinch of salt but it does put PFD in the spotlight. Would be very happy if this hit 210. Rgds, S

Good to see a little momentum leading into YE Results, but still some way to go before a review of holding is required. We first need to hit Jefferies target !
Hopefully get some sales figures for the spice Taylor on results day

Exactly the same here Katenip.
I have been holding for ages in the hope of a bidā¦ā¦.but is it really very likely ?
If itās a hostile bid, Nissin are in a good position to block it. Why would Nissin buy it when they already have the trading deals that they want ?
Maybe itās time to move onā¦.as you say the divi is no reason to stick around.
Obv Nissin Foods..not Nissan..but why not with all the EV stuff , chip supplier
Got lucky and have a very healthy profit but what am I holding on for?
Itās not an income investment, given dividends so whatās the target?
I donāt think Nissan foods will back out, more likely a block on any bid.
Jefferies are looking at Ā£2.00ā¦.
Any thoughts?
*On a like for like set of numbers I should have said that a similar dividend paid here is possible I should have added.
@ Green555.
I'm not in ITV myself, but I just happened on a comment that showed up on the latest share chat thing earlier.
Being the nosey bug ger that I sometimes am, my curiosity got the better of me so I clicked on it to see what it was, that was when I noticed the RNS. That's how I knew about that after glancing through it.
Which goes to show, that on a LfL set of results, 5.5p here I possible.

" Today we have announced that we will be entering into a consultation on the proposed closure of our Charnwood site in Leicester.āÆ
As a branded business, our long-term strategy and focus is on investing behind our brands to deliver sustainable profitable growth, whilst Charnwood manufactures non-branded pizza bases for a small number of less profitable third-party contracts, which are not our strategic focus.
Charnwood has been part of the Group for more than 30 years and has two bespoke pizza base lines, developed in partnership with Pizza Hut, primarily to service their unique requirements. We have explored options to expand the product offering but this would require significant investment to adapt what is quite inflexible infrastructure to bring it in line with modern operational and environmental standards. In addition, we have not been able to agree a profitable, long-term contract with the siteās largest customer, Yum!, which operates the Pizza Hut delivery business.āÆA range of options has been considered including the potential to sell the site as a going concern, which will remain on the table during this process.
The consultation process will start immediately and, should this conclude in the closure of the site, we will exit contracts for all products manufactured there.

Hi not sure why but itās not unusual as somebody once said. Iām not on here so much at the moment Iām finding even though maybe people are only joking with one another but I find people cruel and thatās not just here. Not sure what the answer is people maybe the world needs a reset. I sense there might be a big takeover brewing (never a good reason to buy) but Iām here and in m&s and in and out of a few others.
Does anyone understand why PFD is showing loads of after hours share trades ? There were several after 4.30 yesterday

At this rate of progress I can see an increased Dividend coming !
Hi Jed
I know just what you mean, ITV, I dabbled with last year, looking good despite the relentless calls that it's finished!
Premier is back on steady incline, long way to go if you had invested 10 -15 years ago, before the fall from grace!
I'm holding for the Ā£2 plus , which I believe, the new positive board, has shown to be possible.
Fingers crossed
Well done PF , but doesn't it p*** you off . I used to hold many thousands of these for about 5 years + when the SP fell to the 20's and after losing faith I sold out with almost no gain. It does go to show that sometimes it can be a long term plan that works providing you have the years to sit tight and hope all changes. But we all know it always does this once we have sold out. Today I am sitting tight on ITV which I think is an even better bet for more profits, as long as it improves before I pass away waiting.

Not really, I'm sure we'll be ok next week š

Well, have a great time, do we do Ice creams? If not, look out for some recommendations for the board. Enjoy yourself
Hi Leather
I am in OZ at the moment and PFD seem to be doing very well hereā¦..Kipling products are very prominent in Coles and Woolworths.
Interesting to speculate why a Dutch investment bank would want 8% of PFD. The divi isnāt particularly attractive at the moment so presumably they are in it for capital growthā¦ā¦.unless there is more to it than that ?
Hi Dogger,
We discussed the SP and our different views on what would happen to it after the results, some weeks ago.
I was pleased to see the declaration earlier in the week, we share the same thoughts on the Nissin holding, difficult to see T/O in the distance, i just think PFD is going to be an ever growing attractive share. Did you see Heather Mills was harping on about the established food companies ruining her meat free business, now in administration! That may or may not be the case, but it also highlights the importance of established branding with fresh ideas and to me, everything PFD has come to stand for in the last 3 years. The Dutch won't be the only ones and with Nissin's seemingly steadfast approach, the number of shares available will be squeezed. Plus i see, the Mr K pies at our surrounding shops are priced attractively, plenty of everything in the supply chain. Yet again there are plenty of people with lots of money, whilst the politicians argue, people enduring war and famine.
The only question I am starting to think about is political. Historically the day a Labour Gov'ment is elected the business world shakes, is it going to be same old Labour ? who knows ?
But what do I know?Have a good day all.
Good to see that the Dutch think we are a good investment

Yes buying Rolls Royce shares as substantial undervaluation. At P/E 15 fair pricing they are worth 450 pence (now 261 pence) so a far better unique company shares investments.
I sold out completely Premier Foods shares. May buy back at below 110 pence. Premierās Management need to focus on smaller shareholders for better share dividends & capital returns!

Yeah no financial incentive to buy thesePremier Shares. Itās a āSellā for me. Until Premier Foods rewards its shareholders !!!
You know this Alex management are rewarding themselves with ever higher share options (the biggest total number of total shares at the last one granted) but nothing for shareholder returns, paltry scraps. This cannot go on. At some point the big investors will dump sell Premier Shares and then the management will buy them at lower prices again. They profit whatever happens. So enrich themselves like the elites always do. If things donāt improve soon, this Premier Foods is not investable as a serious shares investment.
I agree with these comments about returns for shareholders but what we need to remember is that Nissin own nearly 30% of the shares. Are they demanding higher returnsā¦..I donāt knowā¦.but they have a seat on the board and have all sorts of trading relationships with Premier, so maybe that is where they are getting their returns.
Pernix could not agree more
I was expecting interim dividend or some sort of special div!
food companies are like utility need to pay decent dividend at the very least info on when they will start interim payments!
need the yield to be around 3 - 4 %; 1% won't do....
Shareholders need to be prioritised & rewarded. Saying that the business has outperformed, upgrading their profits means nothing. There is no shareholder value creation here as profits are always locked away. Until profits are unlocked for shareholders, these shares will languish, go down and only be seen as short term play for share traders. Thatās whatās been happening. So I think Premier Share
Price is going down for now again. IMHO/ DYOR.
I know the sp has gone up this week slowly but how much does PF need to sell to rise th sp and how mich lower does the debt need to go

@Pernix. Indeed. But someone signed off on it tbf. I get that it will have been recorded long before all this nonsense kicked off, but still.
As you say, it'll blow over, and with the way of the world today this will be fish & chip wrapping when the "I'm offended" brigade have found something else to have a bit of a whine about.
Talk about being fickle.
@Trent700: Sometimes mistakes happen with advertising. Things will blow over at M&S. Whatās impressive is 150 % increase in M&S profits. Thatās coming from Food sales with 6 new large stores opening. Finally, they got the stores format right. Ocado U.K. venture maybe 2 years turnaround yet. Clothing turning around with homewares.
@Amtech. You're not wrong.
Itās not hard to peace people off these days, 6 complaints and it becomes national news with an apology on top. Thought this would have a bigger lift today though, Iāll keep buying the dips ready for the next set of results from the Christmas period.
@Pernix. Agree with most of what you said with the exception of your M&S bit.
They've peaced a lot of people off over their Christmas ad and if half of those are serious about boycotting them, then their sales are gonna plummet.
Not that that effects us on that front though IMO, as all they'll do is pick up that food they were gonna buy from them elsewhere, Morrisons, Tesco etc.
On the other hand the price is close to breaking out and going to new highs if so

Now firing on all cylinders I see, these are strong results and will underpin the SP nicely. And Alex, letās not be too hasty on passing back lower input costs, act like the fuel retailers !
Agree Good Results. Premier Shares Re-Rating is stuck as always is lining up the ducks š¦ The issue is there is no special situation with Premier Foods. Itās a consistent deliverer but other companies swings are better or deemed better capital share returns. The share brokers have higher and higher targets for Premier Share Price but never reach these or get near to them. Itās Premierās Management need to unlock shareholder value. Spin Offs, Special Dividends, Joint Ventures with Big Boys, Outright Takeover of Premier Foods or New Distribution Country Markets. Thatās going to boost the share price moreso.
