Well Oakhurst - thanks for your nice note an hour ago - I missed it due to a late lunch. Appreciate honest feedback. And as I just refresh I see we are up by 5% and we get name checked in Business Live! Now that's a bit more like it! Something real to get our teeth into!
Someone needs to come up with an LFT that has a line for flu and a line for covid. Given ongoing we will have to live with both, and the symptoms are so similar, a test that can tell you have flu, but not covid, or you have covid, will be extremely useful.
Flashy
Welcome all view points, it’s healthy.
Personally I think your wrong but good to be able to disagree without getting personal - plus I don’t have a leg to stand on at the moment as we have no sales news, but think we have a good chance to fire up our capacity for the U.K. @ overseas market with Home Use Diagnostic market forecast to grow to $25B a year by 2025 - been posted a few times on the board ( source )
Hi Bigbangs.
"I also think testing for flu will become common place and the indiscriminate spreading of virus’s will no longer be ‘socially acceptable.’" - I don't see this happening for the likes of flu myself. I don't think enough people would take it up to make a difference.
With regards to the end of testing - I do think other countries will need it longer than we do if I am correct about withdrawing it in spring next year in the UK. That's simply down to the vaccination rates. What this means for ODX products being sold in those markets is up for debate: lower margins almost certainly, but most of these will prob opt for Innova or whoever is already in place. Thanks.
I certainly agree that any good news on sales would be pretty significant, I was identifying what I had determined the end game to be. Although I agree with Flashy that at some point will will learn to live with Covid as we do with flu, I believe we will be testing for years to come - I also think testing for flu will become common place and the indiscriminate spreading of virus’s will no longer be ‘socially acceptable.’
I think news of any sales at all would be a good start !
Wadogara - yes I agree with that - we don't need to sell at full capacity - just half of it would bleedin' help!
I'm afraid I'm increasingly thinking that the govt contract won't materialise to anything like it's total amount. I don't believe we will need LFTs or mass testing by spring next year as I think the UK population will have suffered such exposure amongst a highly vaccinated people that natural antibodies will enhance the vaccine's immune response, so that to the vast majority COVID will be like the common cold. I was intending to get out/severely reduce my holding of ODX by the AGM if no news came along, but Lord Bethall's tweet kept me here. I do believe we are owed answers by the company, and I still hold out some hope that we should see a rise on one of several newsfronts to come, but it depends in what order they come that will change my strategy here. GLA.
Bigbangs. You mention 100m per year sales.Obviously, the more sold the better, but i think it's also important to acknowledge the fact that even though we have capacity to produce 2m per week, even orders/sales of 3-500,000 per week would still be transformational for this company's revenues and SP,.to begin with.
Bigbangs
Me too.
I believe too
No argument there sledgey - you either believe one day confirmation of home use and actual sales will happen or you don’t. I hold because I still believe it will come good and we will sell all that we can produce and by that I mean more that 100m per annum. ATB.
Bigbangs
Personally, I thinks sales is all that matters at the moment, we can lose big fish little fish whenever.
The heads up was useful as it identified who was selling and more importantly why they chose to sell. Most significantly the seller identified why they had chosen to see and that it was not due to any specific issue (real or otherwise) about ODX . I am happy to rephrase if you prefer, I found it useful.
Not sure how useful a heads up is, particularly after the event. If it is true, it just shows how easily things recover from big players making bad choices , could even end up blue, who knows.
Well I do actually believe that the sell off over a few days of 1.3 million shares would certainly have caused a drop in ODX. So we should be grateful that Dave has given us a heads up - someone was selling so why not him. I think he has made a mistake but his money his call.
Wad, its tough going, wish I had avoided the market but started off so well.
Got stung in GDR as well btw.,..a criminal 40% discount to raise from an already pommelled SP.Hoping, like you are, that a strong reversal kicks in ober next few weeks.
Good luck to you Dave, everyone has to make their own decisions based on their own situation.
I thought that smell was coming from FFB's sweatbox caravan, seems I was wrong..
sure . and I have sold all my 10 million shares which I bought at 1p.... still a 45 bagger ...
So many w anchors on this board, trolls and others, the board is useless, anyone with any integrity has gone. I had said I have sold down 1.3mill this week and I never mentioned £170k was the sold amount. I only stated my sells due to the drop from around 48.5 to my lowest sell was just above 45p, incase it spooked any LTH as of why. Maybe if you read the actual posts instead of trying to be clever and maybe the fact that, some people on the board are not liars at each turn.
