@gizmo555
Of course, we're all part of the experiment while data is being collected and still awaiting results from the previous or pilot ones to be published as far as I'm aware.
@Ad4you
To be honest, that was a bit of a standard deviation.
Hi trouble ...you remember that game top middle or bottom ...hotspot ........people will need to know the virus vs antibody clock is ticking 4 months now ...intresting post earlier on israel ...when or where to start boosters .....help the world or help ourselves ....im off for a fish good RNS confident .....read it a few times
Did you're Professor not say you were Troublesome? Hehehehehehe
My statistics professor told me I was average.
I replied and said I thought that was mean.
Time will tell
But we need an efficient early warning system in place throughout the country at a local level with an effective test, track & self-isolate (with tailor-made support) in place otherwise there's not a cat in hells chance of containing new variants and getting back to any kind of normality pre-Covid.
Freedom day is for the birds until a proper strategy with gradual easing of restrictions is put in place.
98% of all statistics are made up !!
Recall a teacher who entered 2 pupils out of a class of 30 for an exam and both passed - 100% pass rate.
Another teacher who entered all 30 pupils and 15 passed - 50% pass rate.
45% of a handful of people. Let’s not crap ourselves just yet. Delta + however could be a different story and time will tell.
agreee, im in this share for the long hall average around the high 8's (depressingly so) Keep thinking i should average down now at this price but don't want too many eggs in a particular basket
manipulation yeah, the sp is always manipulated when it is going against you LOL
Almost as easily as this SP is manipulated :)
Deas, i think time will tell no one really knows is the honest answer and you can always manipulate statistics to show what ever narrative you want to push
Upsidedo I do agree, during the vaccine trials (although included 10000) only about 100-160 people actually got COVID, skewing the stats to 95% efficacy. I’ve always called bullsh*t as there wasn’t enough data to justify it.
@deas point taken, but you also need to look at the volume of people in that, for exactly if 2 people died and 1 was fully vaccinated you could say that the vaccine is only 50% effective however the sample data is high enough. Im not saying your wrong i just think we need to be careful how we view the statistics
I think that the bigger concern is fully vaccinated people contacting covid and having it mutate into a potentially more serious variant.
I think the key is how well do the vaccines prevent contraction of COVID and the spread. If they dont stop that then this virus is going to have ample opportunity to mutate, and then escapes will happen.
@upsidedownowl
If you look at the government data (not in the media) : https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/994839/Variants_of_Concern_VOC_Technical_Briefing_16.pdf
45% of COVID deaths in the last week we’re fully vaccinated + 14 days people. That doesn’t sound like a 99% effective vaccine against death.
@upsidedownowl
That appears to be the case but it does not stop some people ( a smaller % than previous) becoming seriously ill, being hospitalised or even dying.
They may also suffer from long Covid and suffer or die from related illnesses much later.
The concern is that the new variants reduce some of the efficacy and its still not certain by how much and that others may be just around the corner that could reduce their benefits altogether.
i think it we look at the data (and i don't have a reference to hand here right now) put the number of people in hospital as a percentage of the number of new cases as a percentage is _much_ lower now that we have a high population of vaccinated people
That's what we're told.
Unfortunately some of the data seems to suggest otherwise.
Whoops - strategy.
trouble, i though that vaccinated people could still get it just that the vaccine stopped them getting seriously ill and ending up in a hospital bed)
@Ad4you
Its about time they came up with a proper strategt to control this virus.
Its about time they did the right thing at the right time.
Its about time they followed the best science available i.e. Novacyt
And its about time they put the health of the nation first and the economic benefits will come about much sooner.
When will they ever learn - Long time passing.
@Ad4you
Agree but maybe the dispute with the DHSC and the questionable independence of the PHE, in addition to the MHRA and their lack of fit and proper procedures together with funding by pharmacists regards diagnostic tests could provide very big hurdles if this Govt so wishes.
Trouble - We need GM to launch the LFT antibody test asap - that will hopefully blow the shorter's socks off!
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/06/22/israel-faces-virus-surge-vaccinated-israelis-catch-covid-19/
Israel reports 125 new cases in the last 24 hours.
Even fully vaccinated people are contracting the virus.
Might not only suggest that the vaccines are less effective against the new delta variant but that efficacy of the vaccines is waning.
