Unless there is political or shareholder pushback, it appears another higher bid is in the offing. I’ve jumped on board. Either way, limited downside makes this a reasonable play compared to other blueish chips out there, for the moment. I’d expect two more offers, depending on how generous the next one is. 230p as an opening salvo would suggest closer to 300 -320 would be expected…. .
Nice that CDR confirmed pursuit yesterday evening. I only expected upto 225 but at ~235, as principle buy on the way down and sell on the way up, I have sold half and taken £8k-ish profit. Issue now I have to find what’s next holding - nice problem to have :-).
CDR may want to asset stripping MRW like others did to Debenhams but that’s just one of the options. I highly doubt it was on their primary intention. There maybe other plans as well.
Well done you's guys and gals.
They will have to come back with a higher offer imho. Opening offers are never what people expect to pay. Probably looking at 250p to 260p for what they want to pay.
I see you were shorted down by 5.7% at one point and one of the highest on the LSE at the time and just behind the likes of Sainsburys and Cineworld. Not a good position to be in.
It does beg the question for who could be next on the bid list. Not a follower of Sainsbury myself but some real strange goings on with the CINE share price lately against reopenings and the newsflow.
We place our chips and we wait.
Well done and its probably worth hanging in there for a higher offer.
Blackrock are over 2%. Im surprised Odey has not got his fingers burnt again :)
Bought in at 232 because I see a take out price in the range 260-275, we shall see how it plays out.
I think over 5% is short, they will be filling their shorts watching this go
@232p on HL atm
opening 2.30 plus - Well done to the holders. A little rich at that price for me :)
Can smell the burnt shorters on this one!
YEP same here the market makes had not released an opening price, it happened before with other SP up to 8 min into the trading
can't buy anything this morning:)
Be interesting what happens here this is quite heavily shorted
Cudd, you have got every eventuality covered there. Could you be more specific?
Cudd,
:) you have me 100% probability cover, which makes you right whatever.
I asked which one you believe would be
Keen on Morrison’s as is. I like shopping there. Good dividend. I guess key here is if Amazon come in with a bonza bid for their own distribution strategy ie at +300p - then one has to accept the ‘market’ so to speak
So do we think it will be possible to buy around the 2 pound mark tomorrow morning?
There appears to be a GAP at SP 193 on the 1 day TA chart (9-10 Sept 20) waiting to be filled.
So what is your bet Cudd?
With the shorters bailing out I can see the price topping 230p at some stage tomorrow
225p at least, short squeeze will now push this up as well
I'm going for 200p
