I like the company's previous track record of major building contracts, railways and shipyards for example.
share price is unbelievably cheap IMHO considering from this month (March) the port is in use. I expect to see an RNS shortly and a major upswing in the SP.
Long term hold for me but definitely one of my top stocks I'm invested in.

Cheers all. It's good to see that someone has actually seen it in use.
RMS has started using the facility from this month so from my understanding the port is being used. The port has been used previously but we can expect further news shortly I believe. According to one of the latest news RNS we can expect higher number of traffic to our port later this year so if the RNS is correct then I would say we're sitting pretty at the moment.

On further digging, this pic seems genuine, the ship was heading to karanja:

Does that mean operations have started? experts?
Nothing about this share then? (
Couple of typos in there, apologies, pan out, not plan out.
Everyone, have a pleasant evening

Hi,
The contracts are in place and agreed upon, I wouldnt worry, I'm also invested here, remember they are still developing the port, you know you really never know with aim listed companies but I'm prepared to hold for a year or two hoping that this plans out ok. I'm sure it will. Let's put it another way, if it company is legit, then we are in for a lot of profit here, I'm not going to say what I believe we may see profit wise but I think it will be a high return on my money invested , the other side of the coin is that it may not be as good as the RNS make out...in other words a scam...so for me my position is 1, I have invested in the company as I believe I can derive a profit from doing so. 2, I believe that there will be a port and I see myself as a long term holder here, I'm assuming longer term investment brings higher returns...thars my take for what it's worth, I wouldnt recommend anyone invest a penny on anything I've written, it's a case of you pay your money and you take your chances...

Has anyone been keeping an eye on the boat activity at Karanja Port? I've taken a look at it on marinetraffic.com most mornings (when it should be afternoon in Navi Mumbai) and I've not actually seen any cargo vessels using the port. The port also doesn't appear to be registered on most marine traffic websites, which is a bit of a concern.
I know that they're looking to ramp up operations later on this year but in October's interim results document they said that there was a Tata/Daewoo JV multi-year contract which I'd have expected to see some use with. The fact that I've seen nothing but fishing vessels around the port is a bit of a surprise to me.
I'm still investing but this is definitely making me a little concerned. Does anyone know how often a port would expect use with such a contract?
This screenshot imgur.com/a/FVuIR73 was taken just before 6pm local time, but it shows exactly what I've seen most of the time I check.
Can we just look back to the last update:
"Ramping up of operations from the beginning of Sept"
Over the last few months, we have significantly strengthened our business development team and I look forward to updating the market as we close further contracts with pipeline customers throughout the course of the year".
What do people expect? The company is now heading in the right direction people expect to quadruple their money over night! Good things come to those who wait. Time to top up! DYOR Next update and I don't think it will be that long we will hopefully see new developments.
I hope so! What makes you think 2p is achievable soon? Could we see more than 2p could we get to double digits? What's your opinion ?
Yup, just a waiting game Stewarty

Some blue coming our way
Yawn....
So happens ARS is another stock similar to MPL for me. The stock has taken a pounding, I just got into it, it is now the second biggest stock on my portfolio and Mount Teide hates the stock with even more passion than he does MPL.
Fair point Slortibort. Long way to go still. I still consider this a high risk high returns investment too.
I hope they do not get too ambitious and start on Karanja Creek only after generating revenues and convincing the market that they are profitable. They can then avail bank loans at more favourable interest rates and keep dilution of stock to a mimimum.
I'm certainly invested and I'm generally bullish on this one, but I think quite a bit less so than yourself Tils. I don't necessarily think it will catapult.
In particular, I'm a bit concerned about how much the extension is going to cost and where they'll get the money. In all likelihood they'll take on a lot more debt, in which case I'll have to look closely at their debts/assets and income.
What I'm really worried about though is in case they further dilute the stock, as they've done before on a few occasions. They're still a small company and whilst noone wants that, it might be their only way to grow if they can't raise the funds otherwise.
Even still, they've got a functioning port and a tiny market cap compared to similar companies. I'm bought into this. I just consider it one of my riskier punts.
Just to add logistics is shyte in India at the moment, billions has been earmarked by the now efficient central government for ramping up logistics across the country(which is what 'Sagarmala' is about). Good news is MPL is part of the sagarmala ambit and should get value added by default when the govt improves infrastructure. Also, with Sagarmala, the impetus is now on moving paperwork quicker and lessen bureaucratic delays which works nicely for MPL and can be seen by the speed at which documents are being requested and filed imho.
Mobile + fat fingues = typos sorry
My pleasure GF. One pf the main reasons i an in mpl heavily is this stock has probably taken the most battering because of the delays.
Like you just said, it is not in their hands and after all these years, if the first contract for the 5.5 million has come through, this was the perfect time to get in( with less then 20 pc free float).
All the docs they are filing for karanja creek show that they are planning a few years ahead now.
Also, the self professed experts on these board seem to be concentrating only on the port, the dredging etc etc. The ‘logistics’ of ports & logistics is what interests me more. Real estate and storage space are at a premium in Maha in general and Mumbai in particular, so a premium price would be charged for storage per ton imho and not the laughable fogure 60p per tonne as someone said.
Karanja creek might take a few years yet, but should catapult share value if and when it happens. Aimho dyot
Thanks! It looks like they're just filing responses to queries they're getting about the local area.
We might not be getting much view of the future with this document, but I find I'm very rapidly getting an appreciation for the bureaucracy of Maharashtra. That's an area of knowledge I definitely didn't think would grow under this lockdown.
And another this week GF:
