Well the minerals are still in the ground. It's not like an oiler duster. Having put a small punt in here at 1.95 I'm inclined to leave it ride for better times. Might even top up and bring my average down.
The offer of supprt from Firebird for a further 12 months in my opinion is a little saving grace. I hold this at the moment after trading several times but it is my most risky company and I feel that it was slightly derisked by this news today. 12 months saving grace to see if a partner can be found for a joint venture, no guarantee but it buys them time. I.M.O. Only
Perhaps the RNS was purposely bad so as to depress the SP and allow Firebird to buy up more shares at 1p? Will we see another RNS in a few weeks with them buying in? They'll need to as MMS have only a few grand in the bank... Maybe after they've bought in we'll see a positive news update... Stranger things have happened. Remember they've spent £2m on shares here since 2008 and average 3p. So anyone buying in today can undercut the hedge fund by 50% I'm holding but this has knocked me for 6 a little. Genuinely thought the JV would go through. Was all lined up by the looks of things before falling at the final hurdle. Good luck all, a very gutted Wes from the valley
Yes great way to loose money if your into that sort of thing. Made a few squid here 12 months ago and never again.
That RNS was very disappointing. Have you any thoughts? There still seems to be some buying going on today.
With talks now terminated for a j.v.for Bou Jabeur let's hope they are successful in finding a partner for their fluorspar. Otherwise... Anyhow, good luck holders.
http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/prices-and-news/news/market-news/market-news-detail.html?announcementId=10430673 I find it exellent news that Firebird will support/fund them for another 12 months. This was a major concern and fantastic news.
Was... 2.0 / 2.15 Now... 1.75 / 2.13 MMs trying to increase their margin here. They've spotted a chance to take shares off the market at 1.75 to put back in at 2p+ next week. Pure greed but I can see why they're doing it
I think you're right. We would expect see a lot more activity today if there was something coming tomorrow. Just as long as it isn't a 'we're still searching for a potential JV partner' I think I'll stick my head in the oven if we have to wait another 6 months for any movement on this one!
What exactly are we expecting tomorrow? Agree that with such a small capitalisation we can easily go above 3 or 4p. Difficult decision would then be whether to hold or take the profit!
A sign of things to come on results day? I'm hearing this Thursday for news so could be worth topping up beforehand. With a market cap of just over £2m this could quite easily double up on news. Good luck guys
By the way, forgot to thank you for your excellent reply to my initial query a few days back. So, thank you, and apologies for the oversight. GL.
A high profile share guru (Greattobeback) has listed MMS amongst his buy list this evening on the Lloyds board. I think we may expect a lot of attention for Maghreb this weekend, and possibly some action on Monday.
Found this link on another forum. Could be worth bookmarking. http://www.maghreb-multibagger.blogspot.com/
Holders are holding. MMS is so far off the radar the mass market don't know about it. I tried giving the guys and gals on the Lloyds board the heads up but quite like the fact not many know about it. We're kind of like an exclusive club :) When we get news then we'll get the heavy buying interest. Until then it's speculators, value seekers and clever clogs only! When the crowd buys in on news the effect on the share price will be explosive as there won't be enough shares to go around !!!
Not exactly an active share, is it? Not a single buy / sell yet today.
Literally can't buy any at all, the 'Buy' box is crossed out as if the market was not open yet... hmm strange.
I had no problem buying on Friday. How many are you trying to buy?
I'm up for a punt on this but I can't buy any on the share centre Is this because of a cap or something?
Bid 2.00 ask 2.25
Just had email alert for a trade exceeding 2.40p. Anyone watching this live??
For a positive week ahead. ANY news will be welcome!! GLA
To be totally honest a £2M capitalisation of a resource stock with $1B of potential assets in 2010 is ridiculous. Trawl around the website this weekend to fully understand the potential revenue assets of the company. I am sure that you will buy on Monday.
think i will have a punt on these tomo as well
I think you will do very well. Here are the reasons why. Maghreb have a number of exploration projects in play. The biggest one is the Bou Jabeur polymetal mine (lead/zinc plus fluorspar) which has a near $1 billion in-the-ground value and a potential NPV of 25-30p per share. MMS are seeking a JV partner to help tap into that potential. The next biggest project is the Zriba-Guebli area (fluorspar) which is being advanced towards pre-feasibility. MMS plan to retain full ownership of the site. A major plus point for Maghreb is their financial backers (commodity supremo James Passin and Firebird Management) who've pledged to step in and provide funds when needed. They did this twice last year raising almost £1m. They're the majority shareholder so it makes MMS a safe investment in terms of future funding. The SP is where it is for 2 reasons. Firstly exploration is on the back-burner until they finalise brining a JV partner on board - we're awaiting news on that. Secondly junior miners tend to be priced on cash flow rather than asset value - That makes Maghreb very cheap with a huge amount of potential. Re: JV partners. "Discussions are in progress to introduce partners into the lead/zinc portfolio" (Oct 2009 RNS) "The arrival of a JV partner would be a transformational development. In the meantime Maghreb Minerals remains undervalued by any metric" (Proactive Investors) - SP was 3-4p at the time
